@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
I'll be sticking to Union, but due to an irrational need to stick to home more than anything.
Doesn't mean I won't get anything out of this, though. I look forward to maybe seeing more people on Union, including at the later times I'm on. I look forward to being able to see the awesome events you NA peeps host on your servers, even if I can only do so on a fresh lowbie. I look forward to the potential global chat channels that could spring up. I look forward to the possibility of one test server. Hell, I look forward to the global names that I could recognise from the forums appearing in my game.
Excited!
Edit: I am not looking forward to the opposing spellings and words that're already being brought up in this thread, though. I get so ana- ... picky about these things.
ooo ooo storm! We can do our union "chats" on their globals now!

...In the form of 'I need a cigarette', it was really quite funny.

I am definitely looking forward to visiting Union and possibly getting involved in some of the role-play I've gotten to hear about.
And I shall do my best to type in the Queen's language with the respect that it deserves...

Hehe, honestly, I already spell some words the proper way (I can't type theatre any other way) and I am used to much more.
I practically learned to read from my Asterix comics sent from my grandparents.
And, hey, I used to keep a French/English Dictionary on my desk for when I played another game on their unofficial French server... So, I suppose adapting and using real English on the EU servers would be appropriate.

As an American who's lived in England for three years and has had face-to-face interaction with people from all across the UK, I do find it quite humorous when you Brits get on us (even in jest) about using "proper" English when writing and talking.
And technically speaking, "chips" would be a more accurate general moniker of the potato chunks that we deep fry. However, the whole "Belgian frites" thing does legitimize the use of "fries" as a name for the dish. But I digress ...

Just so long everyone remembers that they're not actually from France.

No, but they are frenched, AKA julienned.

Which made the Congressional renaming of french fries to freedom fries in protest of France's refusal to join the 'coalition of the willing' a whole new level of dumb.

"Julienne" is thinly sliced strips... if you do that to potatoes it's going to be called chips... The term for french fries cut is called "Jardiniere."
