Will Atlas Park be destroyed?!!
Only if they add more to villainside would I approve of them doing any more work to heroside.

Part of the reason why redsiders usually say they like the redside better than the blue is because they think many of the blueside zones look "old and dated" compared to the "detailed and realistic" redside zones. Then when someone finally talks about updating some of those older blueside zones to make them better people would rather the Devs add more to the redside first. Talk about confused points of view. Clearly as the older (and more populated) part of the game the blueside is going to have priority in any zone renovations. That's the price you redsiders have to pay for being the "new hotness".
Ironically if the Devs actually fixed up more of the blueside to be as pretty as the redside then you redsiders would have one less thing to hold against the blueside. I have to guess that's the real reason you're against this.

SPOILERS:
As part of the Praetorian Invasion, Steel Canyon takes heavy damage in i19, as does Skyway in the i20 TF.
Kings and Talos take moderate hits themselves.
These events don't "stick"; Skyway is all fixed again by the time you exit the mission. It's both cool to see the devastation, but at the same time the instancing renders everything pointless and trivial.
They can "destroy" any zone they want. It doesn't mean anything.

Look at that. A full-grown woman pulling off pigtails. Her crazy is off the charts.
I seem to recall some meteor craters in AP during an Ouro arc. Perhaps they'll rework it when the Coming Storm finally gets here.
More generally, I'd love to see more zone revamps. I really wish Boomtown had got one to coincide with the return of the 5th in I15, but there's a lot of blueside zones that would benefit from it... most of the hazard zones, the Shard, of course... even some of the regular zones. Redside, other than there not being enough of it, is pretty good as it is... though St. Martial has never really clicked with me. Just doesn't seem to live up to its potential. Not enough gangster glitz. Too many Wailers.

Once again I find myself agreeing with Lothic. Now I play both blue and red side but one thing I always LIKED red side was less zones. Cry if you like but when a villain starts out he or she has one option Mercy. Progress far enough and you head to Port Oakes... once there no contact you get sends you off to Mercy or worse to some hazard zone, like Perez or the Hollows, to run a mission they all take place IN PORT OAKES! This same trend follows as you head to Cap and then even Sharkhead. Only one zone for that level means a lot less travel time to accomplish tasks and get back to your contact for more. Frankly I always felt villains had a bit of a leveling advantage in that especially back in the days when no one got ANY sort of temp travel power and had to run everywhere until level 14. Then add in the fact the when it first started Villains got access to Mayhem missions and raptor pack an issue prior to them designing Safeguards for heroes. Oh and I have contacts red side that I have NEVER done a single mission for but when I approach them I can buy any type of inspiration available.. BLUE SIDE? I get 3 choices until I do enough missions for a contact to prove myself WORTHY of his inspiration supply.
I'm not saying Red side doesn't come up short in other areas... Where the heck is our 30+ level Strike Force? Why don't we get more GMs to battle? (of course I know part of that answer is with limited zones they didn't want to have a GM spawning in every single red zone)It still amazes me that some of the accolade with powers we want include tasks that FORCE us into PvP zones and even require us to DIE and work off a certain amount of debt? DUH who came up with that idea? But who says that part of their master plan isn't to do some of those same sort of things to existing zones on Red Side?

People, it is all about equity. Or did you "high"-and-mighty heroes forget about such an ideal?
I think the devs want is an actual "world wide outside the mission event" that will change the face of the game(like another I cannot mention). They mention Boomtown? What if Atlas is annihilated and Boom becomes the new Atlas? That I think they are hinting towards.
It'd be down with it if they redid Atlas in a similar style as Praetoria.

I would love it if they added some carnival booths to Fortune's Wheel in St. Martial. Make it more carnival-y.

Here's hoping those fine touches are actually being considered.
Regardless of how you slice it, one of the game's biggest problems right now is uneven quality: older stuff doesn't stand up to more recent stuff. The game needs some sort of overall revamp to bring everything up to an even keel.
Now, whether this takes the form of a total revision of CoX or development of a CoH 2, I don't know. In fact, I doubt even the devs have decided it one way or the other. There's pluses and minuses for each approach.
But I wouldn't be surprised if it's coming. Maybe even in the wake of the Incarnate stuff.

I see your carnival and raise you a rebuilt world after everything is destroyed. St. Martial becomes Carnival Island, where the carnies has turned it into a island of maniacs and all around crazies. One big Arkahm Asylum.
Do not forget they also redid Independence Port for issue 20...
a part thereof, but in a significant way.
That's an awful big hurdle, blowing up Atlas Park. Consider just how much stuff they'd need to move, change, or otherwise shift by doing so. All of the contacts, missions, the Vanguard DPO (heck, you go there as part of the Midnight Squad arc, so there's another mission dependency)... You're erasing a Wentworth's and an AE. And presumably you wouldn't allow new characters to choose it as their starting zone anymore. Atlas is just too fully-featured to wreck like that.
On the other hand, doing something with Boomtown has been on the table since at least I6.

Equity is what CS said it was. Equality has nothing to do with being "just and fair." It has to do with being the same.

I was reading part two on the interview with the examiner when this jumped out at me: http://www.examiner.com/pc-game-in-n...-bianco-part-2
"PCGE: Are there any plans to follow a Cataclysm-like mold and just blow the whole damn world to hell and re-write old regions of the game?
MB: Weve already been doing that, to a degree, with revamping of zones like Faultline and Rikti War Zone. But yes, its come up that wouldnt it be fun to completely redo Boomtown into Baumton again. Or bring back Woodvale. Or decimate Atlas Park. Are there any hard-core plans on that score? Im not saying.:"
0.0 Part of me salivate at the thought of an event wide Cataclysm scenario, another says not that map again.
Thoughts?
