Will Atlas Park be destroyed?!!
No one understands in an MMO time is not linear, its perspective based.
level 1 is like day 1 and level 50 is like lvl 50, how can KR be destroyed on day 8, if the invasion on day 50 hasnt happened yet? |
My level 48 has gone through and revealed the truth about Nemesis' role in the Rikti invasion and sparked a Rikti civil war. My level 2 still faces a united Rikti front that doesn't know any better (or, rather, will.) My 50 Mastermind has shown Recluse that his "Destiny" plans are rather a bad idea. My level 12 Dom still has no idea what this whole "Destined one" schtik they keep going on about is all about. Even though that dom was around longer than the mastermind.

If you're RPing with a group of people, you're level 1 is likely to hear about all the things that have happened through out the games existence.
What they need to do is just accept the fact that the game isn't and not likely to be, set up that way. Or else why would we still have all that old content? Apex TF? A group finished it already...no need to run it again, it's happened! Tome to move on to street sweeping! \o/

And if you'd read my post again, genius, you'd notice the reason WHY a very, very, very, very, very, very small number of us like starting there. (See "We like to pretend we are playing a single player game" for starters.)
Now, planning on dropping this or are you going to continue to keep pointing out that way, way, way, way more people use AP then Galaxy and if one of those two zones is going to get revamped it should be Galaxy? |
I tend to agree, Atlas's destruction will invoke more emotion that Galaxy, sorry Warden. Hell, even having a city wide devastation from Atlas to Founders would cause some tear up. The idea of the game changing to the core through a Cataclysm( like another game), would bring me to some reaction.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

-never makes a good, or valid, arguement. Just because someone else finds different ways to enjoy themselves does not make them any less valid, nor does it make your ways the 'right' ways.
Because there are no 'right' ways.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

And no, the other starter zone does not "sit there and gather dust." Some of us *like* starting in that zone, without AE or the market. Not to mention the Warshade story arc contact is in that zone.

While a major overhaul of Atlas Park would affect too many mission maps to make it feasible, Galaxy City ought to petition the city planners for some rennovation investment (or possibly fortify itself against extra-dimensional invasion).
I could see this happening, really. We know now from the Apex and Tin Man TF's that the conflict between Praetorian and Primal Earths are just escalating, and I'd be all for continuing that storyline to promote a revamp of zones down the track. I think it'd be particularly audacious to try the idea of destroying the War Walls in the 'Incarnate/Praetorian Earth' storyline in a TF or Incarnate Trial, and once that's resolved, looking at revamps.
The way I see it, the story obviously revolving around not just one but a large number of characters going towards godhood and escalating power has to leave a lasting mark on the environment around that conflict.
I've had a pet theory for a while now that if you were going to go down the CoH 2 road, this would be the right way to go as this is the Endgame in more ways than it just being the next tier of where level 50's go. We've got visual confirmation Ouroboros gets involved in the initial Alpha Slot story, the Coming Storm is mentioned more and more and the stakes continue to be raised. If you wanted to bring an end to the current game's metastory, this would be my pick to do it.
Then the fallout from that conflict (as possibly the Incarnates ascend to become what...the new godly pantheon of myths and legends?) would birth the next phase of stories in a sequel game.
At least that's how I'd plan it out, anyways.

I see your carnival and raise you a rebuilt world after everything is destroyed. St. Martial becomes Carnival Island, where the carnies has turned it into a island of maniacs and all around crazies. One big Arkahm Asylum.

Ohhhh I like that idea. Let's drop the freakshow show in there as well so we have two rival gangs sort of battling it out for control. Only problem is where do we move the Family and all those casinos? That has a certain Las Vegas, back in the day when the mob ran things, feel to it and I enjoy it too. Hey how about we just keep St M as is and add a NEW Red Side zone called Carnie Island and do what you suggested there? Give the place a feel and look like "Escape from New York" where the crazies ran the whole city.. with Carnies and Freakshow running around settikng things on fire "just for fun!"
They could even add a few new contacts to include an Arachnos Arbiter in charge of a small containment force that works undercover to try and control things on the island and keep the crazies from getting away and disrupting any of the other Rogue Isles city zones. He would give you missions inside the zone and always end his briefing with "Now if anything goes wrong in there remember.... You are totally on your own and we are NOT coming in there to help. I've lost too many men trying that."
Have a nice day and don't get too close to the crazy people LOL
Were always the good guys. In D&D, were lawful good. In City of Heroes were the heroes. In Grand Theft Auto we pay the prostitutes promptly and never hit them with a bat. Leonard
Those women are prostitutes? You said they were raising money for stem cell research! Sheldon
Now think of it as a newly created hero perspective without the RP involvement.
The way you're saying, KR is destroyed every day. How many people have ran Apex TF? It's a huge crater now it's been invaded so much.
Oh and that level 6 hero in KR, what's left to protect? It's a pile of rubble being rebuilt. For it to make since to go there, it would need entirely new story arcs and enemies, enemies it would likely have there now, which would look at the level 6 hero, smile and stomp them, as they're a level 54 invasion force.
