What kind of music do you listen to while you play CoH/CoV? What are your top 5 bands/artist you listen to?

2. Texas In July
3. Parkway Drive
4. Killswitch Engage
5. Emmure

Classical and oldies.

Yeah, I'm no fun. But soaring orchestal tunes are way better than many might think when accompanying superhero/villain fights, flights, and so on. And oldies (50's-60's music) tend to be fun, a great mix with a fun game.

Though I've been known to throw on some cheesy love songs as my executioner brute destroy mobs, just because somebody singing about their darling whilst he does a built up energy transfer to the face is hilarious in my book.

I'm another one who just has my iTunes library pretty much on shuffle when I play. (And when I'm not playing... )

As for what artists are included in that, my favorites are Barenaked Ladies, Low, They Might Be Giants, Kevin Hearn & Thin Buckle, Modest Mouse, Foo Fighters, Jerry Martin (the guy who wrote the music for SimCity), and about a hundred other artists with anywhere from a couple dozen to one song each.

Proud member of Everyday Heroes (Infinity Heroes), Dream Stalkers (Infinity Villains), Devil Never Cry (Freedom Heroes), Enclave of EVIL (Pinnacle Villains), Phobia (Infinity Villains), Les Enfant Terribles (Freedom Villains), Gravy Train (Virtue Heroes), and more!

Rock, Pop, and some heavy metal I will listen to but never country music!

I open Winamp and click random.

I've got 27 gigs of music, so anything that comes on is listened to. I love everything from classical to classic, from rock to Western. My playlist covers Chopin to Hollywood Undead and beyond.

(Please note I said Western and not country. I loathe the nasal whiny vocals of most country singers. I want male artists to sound like men, not whiny wimps. That's why 'Seven Spanish Angels' is a much better song to me than 'Please Don't Take the Girl.')

When I was helping @Anasthesia with the mission to enter the Seers mind and defeat the aspect of Praetor Tillman, she regretted the help, because I was singing along to "Walk Hard" while smashing mobs left and right on my Brute.

I turn on my iPod when I think about it. It's all stuff I've ripped from my CDs, mostly country and mostly from the mid '90s to the early '00s.

I usually play new mixes I'm working on in the background.

But for the "who do you like" portion:

1) Radiohead
2) Prodigy
3) The Beatles
4) The Police
5) Bob Marley

Alright, I'm seeing some trends so far.. & if I may, NATOR, I'm going to take it a step further:

Guilty Pleasures:
1. Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory before Chester's acid reflux..)
2. Any Pop Punk or what some may call "emo" (I.E. Panic At The Disco, The Almost, Taking Back Sunday [With Fred], The Color Fred, Fall Out Boy, you get the picture.)

What I don't listen to:
Modern day country, I grew up listening to country music (Alan Jackson, Reba, Conway Twitty . etc.) but I drifted far from that.. My list shows that (if anyone knows half the bands on there ). My parents (If you don't know me.) wonder what went wrong

Actually, "Shake Down" was in one of the Beverly Hills Cop movies, too.

I'll keep this short. Writing about music is one of my favorite things, and I could write a chapter here.

But I won't.

Currently, I have a heirarchy for what I listen to:

1) The Rick Emerson Show podcast from the day before. (I'm a news/pop culture geek, this is where I get some of my info).
2) I'm currently in the process of re-buying all the Killing Joke, Kiss, Nine Inch Nails, and VAST albums in order. Which ever one I bought last is the one I will listen to. However, it gets distracting for me, because I rate EVERY song I listen to. I have 17000 songs waiting to be heard yet... Which brings me to
3) A random shuffle, but only of the songs I have rated. Which is about 500 or so right now. I had more, but I migrated my songs from my old laptop to my new Mac, and lost all the ratings.

Guilty Pleasure: Well...Kiss is one. But in general, a lot of "hard" rock from the 70s. Its our roots, I respect them.

What I Won't Listen To: A) The Black Eyed Peas. Eff them. B) Any convergence of modern pop/R&B. I can't stand Rihanna's voice any longer. C) Most modern hip hop. Old school will always be better. D) Modern country. A genre without Waylon or Johnny is no longer valid. Mutt Lang killed country anyways. (Side Note: I believe any artist is entitled to one good song, so I'll listen to anything. I'm elitist, but not* Nazi-ish. Oh, except the Black Eyed Peas. Eff them.)
