In-game E-Mail LOSING ATTACHEMENTS
Do you know if the global server went down at that time?
I've seen it happen where the global server which keeps track of your global friends list, global chat channels, and email goes down. When that happens you lose access to anything the global server is used for until it comes back up.
If you aren't watching global channels or your friends list, you may not notice when the global server goes down, because SGs are handled by the server you are playing on, not the global server.

There was an email roll back with maintance the other day it's been happening since i19. Submit a petition with what is missing (best you can remember) and what toon sent the items. They will be returned not really a need to panic.
You don't really need to know everything that was missing for ex. this past time I said I am missing PvP IO's some of ehich where Glad Jav's they where mailed from "x toon". From that info they recovered my glad javs plus shield walls and a glad strike. The recipies where back within 24 hours of my first petition.
The roll back also affected global chat channels I had recently joined one and after maintance I was out of it and back in the one i had quit to make room for the new one.

But... Candy canes? Seriously? You're freaking out over losing a few candy canes? The rare salvage I can understand, but canes are cheap these days and you can easily farm up 20 in a run or two of the lady winter mission.

Whene the email was restored recently, I lost my replier email I use to send things to myself. But I gained back two temp power recipes I had since taken down. They had the original mail date on them.
Wish they had been ultra-rares instead. Then I could be jerkhackin and dupin rares.
I was cleaning out a character and sent myself about 5 million inf earlier this week, but had yet to claim it on another character, and have since deleted the character that sent it. Think it's worth a petition?
No problems here and I keep my email full with inf/recipes/etc since I make alts all the time to stock them.
No need to fret that much over all this. I have had a few e-mail mixups, but the GMs were always able to fix them. Now, I don't want to deal with them again, or have anyone have to deal with them, so the best thing to do is not have stuff in your inbox when a server update is going on, as that is when all the problems seem to show up.
That hardly means you should not use your e-mails. Just don't leave stuff sitting in there during an update, unless you don't mind POSSIBLY missing it for a few days (though I haven't had a mixup like this for a good couple of months, and I have had things in my inbox during updates in that time period).

I noticed a missing email last night where I was storing a recipie. Just chiming in to add to the list. No idea when it might of happened though, aside from "at some point in the last week."

Editing what I said earlier.The wife deleted a few toons and stripped them of items and put them in email.
They are now gone and she filed a petition, sorta weird must be a random bug.

But this time it was Candy Canes. Last time it was one Apocalypse and two Armageddon elements, both already crafted, and neither was ever replaced.
Next time, who knows?
So, the specific items lost may vary considerably. The point is, it's a hole the Devs need to patch, no matter what is being lost.

Calm down, this happens fairly frequently, I've lost many billions worth of attachments over 4 instances of this, and got them all back from the GMs. It tends to happen over maintenance periods, and yes globals did die after Thursday maint a couple of times.
You will minimise your chance of loss if you claim stuff before maint and resend afterwards.
You can also get the occasional bonus of stuff you've claimed reappearing, although that seems semi random, and the GMs don't want it back.

If you give a GM a time frame and let them know who it was sent from and who it went to, they can likely assist you faster.

Just wanted to chime in on "Replier Emails" the last time I had an email get lost the response from the GM was that the reason the email got lost was the reply string had got to long and this was a known issue with the email system. I never let my reply string get longer than 3 uses now then start over. Haven't had an issue since.

The workaround is to clear the message body to at least 1 character and then attach your stuff.

Two days ago, I and several of my SG-mates were transferring items among alts via e-mail.
To date, at least a dozen RARE Salvage Items and 20+ Candy Canes were lost when the e-mails and their attachments simply disappeared.
The items were not returned to the senders' inventories, they were simply GONE.
We have Help requests pending with the GMs, hopefully the people who lost Candy Canes will have them restored before the Winter Event is over.
