We need more tanker primaries.

Play with your 50's?

If you have all 8 Tanker primaries at 50 and you can't enjoy playing any of them well, uh, Tankers might not be your thing(and why did you get them to 50 in the first place ).

Try other Tanker combinations (can make things quite different)? Try other ATs? Work all those tanks through the incarnate content? I like Tanks and prefer doing their job on the team, but I have plenty of Blasters, some Scrappers, a Brute, two Controllers, and I've started a Fire/Fire Dominator recently. Variety and altitis is my spice of life, but find what floats your boat.

I did the same on Scrappers.
Try Energy Aura or SR Brute. But then again downgrading on survivability might not be for you

I want a Bacon Armor set!

Try a Blaster for a complete change of pace, you may be surprised at just how much you enjoy it. Or try a Controller for another team support, aggro control character that plays totally differently. Scrappers can be quite similar if you don't want to change quite that much.

I've found that having played all ATs to 50 I understand their roles better and it makes it easier to tank; I understand now why this AT wants something and why that AT wants something else from a tank.

I do enjoy playing them. But I also like the feeling of progress that I get from earning XP. So playing a tank that is earning XP is preferable (for me) to playing a tank who is already 50. (Aside from high-level content.)

My tanks all have the alpha slot unlocked. Two of them have it slotted so far. I do play other AT's. I have more controllers than tanks.

I don't like blasters that much. I have one at 50 and one at 37.
I have almost as many controllers as tanks.
I only play two scrappers: Ironblade and one on Triumph that I play with my brother.
I've played most ATs to 50: blaster, controller, defender, scrapper, tanker, warshade, brute, corrupter, dominator. A stalker is next, at level 36.

My warshade is human/squid only. Maybe I'll do a peacebringer next and make it human/lobster only and play that as a 'tank'.

Mainly I want new armor sets. I'm hoping we some day get one based on crystals or gemstones. Someone once asked why they couldn't make the ice armor darker shades and the devs specifically said they didn't want it to look like gemstones. This obviously means they have such a set in development.

Could always use the color palate, and make your own crystal or gemstone armor set? Model it around ice armor, or umm.. stone? Could also go with invuln or willpower, and have a crystal or gemstone costume.. have the different auras be different colors so its reflection based..

Outside of that, different secondarys could make the secondarys play a lot differently.

You could reflect on the fact that at launch, Tankers only had four primaries (Fire, Ice, Invuln, and Stone). We can all be glad that those sad days are behind us.

Did that.
I have a stone tank named Dr Dolomite. Dolomite is a mineral which usually occurs as a grey crystal. So his armors are: grey crystals. (Aside from Granite - feh!)

I want a new concept for mitigation. We've got defense tankers, resistance tankers, "regen" tankers, control tankers, and everything since has been different kinds of layering of those methods of staying upright.

I want a new mechanic, and the introduction of novel things even for single powersets (like combos just for Dual Blades) leads me to hope the Devs are willing to make a new type of powerset that doesn't merely recombine the previous powers.

I think I recall seeing that the game engine can't support a "damage shield" powerset that inflicts damage on foes that strike the tanker; too bad. How about, say, an Ablative Armor set, one whose powers create "pseudo-pets" that have hit points only, and are destroyed as they take hit points? Perhaps it could use the mechanic from Masterminds' bodyguard mode to share damage between the Tanker and his ablative armor. The powers would be clickies on a longish recharge, so that you couldn't just refresh them before anyone could hurt you; you'd have to watch chunks slowly being blown off the tanker as you try to win before you erode.

Wait, people keep playing their characters once they hit level 50? I'm going to need this explained to me slowly.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Which is it, man?!

I'm actually enjoying playing my 50s for their alpha slots tremendously. Prior to I19, I barely touched my 50s except for badging and Tips missions (and that's only w/I18). I definitely know what you mean about the feeling of accomplishment leveling a toon, but I19, and it looks like beyond, gives me that back for my 50s. Of course, I've finished unlocking the uncommon slots for all my 50s already, but that just gives me time to make more 50s before I20.

What's the difference between that and a tankermind?

Anyway, a psi tank set would be nice. Especially if we get to do that "intangable but still can attack" trick those carnival gals can do.. though that might mess with some "countdown" attacks admittedly. Psionic mastery also already contains a mini-tank pool list, with Link Mind, Indomitable Will, Mind over Body, World of Confusion...

Indomitable Will/Mind over Body = Willpower.

Dark and Will have pretty hefty Psi mitigation tools already.

*head tilts*

Warshade on Crack!!!

Actually, your concept sounds like it would be useful for a Plant based armor set.

You cause your armor to grow and cover your body, and the armor takes on the appearance of tree-barks, leaves, and the like. As you take damage the leaf-shields get blown away, and then the bark, and then the roots.
