Channel- which is the best?
CU if you just want to hang out and talk about whatever you want.
BMT if you want to "get **** done" like artic said.
I personally am in only BMT because I don't care about what the vast majority of you have to say, and I don't want my chat box filled with random blabber. If you're a more social person that's into the game for the social aspect, then CU is probably the way to go.
/chanjoin shin is awesome
All of the above said Channels are great, also check out Hammer Nation. Catch me in game and I can shoot you a invite.
My favorite channel is "Team" when I'm soloing. Man, the conversation there is just awesome..

Ok.
Yeah, join CU!
It has people like this tool-bag in it, I mean seriously, who wouldn't want to be in a channel that has Elf in it?!
Here's a no brainer and not showing any favortism here.
* The best channel is the one that you (whoever is reading this) feels the most comfortable with.
Global@SteelDominator
Depends what you perceive as "popular".
Champions United is an unorganized un-moderated channel for blabber and very rarely you'll see anything substantial. If you're into gabbin' about RL, or basically anything your big heart can perceive then join CU.BMT is where you want to be if you actually want to play the game. Period. |
Both channels are at max capacity for a reason; your supposition that the members at BMT know how to "really" play the game and the members at CU are just mindless rabble just shows you to be the elitist Thought Policeman I always knew you were. Period.
@Viking Queen.
Spoken like the true elitist. Lets just ignore the fact that the CU channels moderators are some of the most experienced veteran players in the game. Cherry, CritikalCat, Myrmadon, Marut,Steel Dominator, Bud et.al. are just as knowing about the game as the mods at BMT....the difference is, CU mods are not so self-important as to silence their own members for discussing "unapproved" aspects of the game.

Edit: Is that supposed to be @Necromancer2133, by chance?

If you had actually read it you'd probably have noticed that I didn't say anything about CU's moderators nor the players in the channel, just the nature of the chatter in the channel itself. And if you'd kept reading you might have noticed that I said absolutely nothing about BMT members being better than CU members.
BMT has rules that helps promote a focus on game-play, which is enforced by moderators. None of which actually made the channel, OR came up with the rules. They were asked to regulate the channel to provide a better gaming atmosphere for the rest of the community. Did you think we moderated the channel because we enjoy being hated by a quarter of the community?
CU has no rules, leaving the table open for any conversation you could fathom. Which most definitely falls into the category of a great channel for many people and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's just not preferred by everyone.
Both channels cater to different types of players who want different things out of their game-play. The term "Better Channel" is 100% decided upon by each individual depending on what they are looking for when they play.
Also on a side note to address a different aspect of your post. Being an "Experience Veteran" alone most definitely does not make you a good player, period.

Lew Zealand, you distract Statler and Waldorf with your flying fish, keep them ducking. Crazy Harry, you plant the charge under the balcony while Lew is doing his thing, I'll go up on the roof with the can of gasoline and matches and drill a hole down to their theater box. Fozzie, you lay there like a bearskin rug because you're furry and make my hand sweat.
