Champions United ( Open) Chatting, Fun, Friends, Teamage, etc.
BMT ( requires invite) Teamage, Badges, Monsters, TFs, Game Info.
Both channels are at capacity and popular. If you would like an invite when space is open please post your global for a mod in BMT. For Champions United you need to just keep trying if it is full.

Both BMT and CU serve a purpose on Champion. There are other channels in game that you may be interested as well:
examples
TankHQ: Serves primary for Tanker Tuesdays but also questions about tanks. Open
TheMarket: Serves as questions and going rates for the current changes in the market. Open
SG/VG channels: for the obvious reasons. Invite only
Server channels: Server wide broadcasting ie, BMT and Champion United. Varies
And all others just look for all channels in "Search".
Open= can join manually
Invite only= by the SG/VG leader, Operator, or Leader
Varies= Combination of all of the above it just depends

Depends what you perceive as "popular".
Champions United is an unorganized un-moderated channel for blabber and very rarely you'll see anything substantial. If you're into gabbin' about RL, or basically anything your big heart can perceive then join CU.
BMT is where you want to be if you actually want to play the game. Period.
If you're using channels to form up a team, use BMT if you want a better more organized team that has a brain for PvE. If you're using channels to be a chatterbox, you'll find CU more attractive. Both channels have a purpose, it just depends on you the player to figure out what you want out of the game.
