Keep in mind it is the holidays and they are probably busy on the next big thing.

I think it's mostly a matter of personality. The devs who did post a lot (primarily BaBs and Castle) posted because they wanted to and not because they had to. While I do wish the other devs would post more I can understand why they do not, we aren't always the easiest people to get along with.

There's been a definite movement away from long walks on the beach with red names. However, that doesn't mean that being treated like the average paying MMO customer equates to any amount of doom.
I think this is the new status quo for red name posts, and that we should get used to it.

For examples, I was very happy they added the Lady Winter mission to the Winter event for something new to do and I really liked GR and Issue 19. So for my money they are doing the most important thing, improving the game. (Though I do miss their banter on the forums.)

Plus, I'm paying them to make a kickass game, not play forum footsie with people who're usually out for their blood.
On the list of goofy things people choose to get DOOMy over devs who work on the game instead of posting on the forums is my clear #1.

David was posting a lot but he's since been very quiet. Castle is one of the last that would post semi-often but he's leaving. It is Christmas week here though so I wouldn't expect too much developer activity.

They aren't posting because NCSoft has instituted a new policy that devs will be fired if they post on the forums too much. First BaB, then Castle. All the rest are cowering in feat that their next post might be their last so they are saving it for something epic.

With the huge drop off in dev posts, the forums seem like a useless circle-j*rk at the moment.

This plus the changes to forum rules that took place awhile ago= a much less entertaining forum.
with the last, apparently, communicative dev now leaving the dev digest has the appearance of a wasteland.
even a state of the game type address? anything? is this thing on?
i find myself concerned about the distinct lack of very nearly any dev posting for a very long time now and wonder what happened. was it specific people who chose to be a voice? are there rules in place now that has caused this change in what used to be a much more open environment to communicate in?
am i just having a moment of nostalgia for a level of recalled qualitative communication rather than a general blank wall of silence that appears to have descended across the boards?
