Loving TIPS missions!
I want to buy whoever wrote the Polar Shift and "Fake Rescue" Tip missions a drink! I had SOOOOO much fun doing them.

Thanks. I love missions that take over an hour to solo on my defender, set to +0/1.

On the other hand, I'd like to take whoever wrote the General Aarons mission out behind the woodshed. 15 ambushes and a lead-out on a Longbow map where the captive stops at every group and gets "re-captured," turning it into a defeat-all?

If you're 50 this is actually a good thing since drops are all you care about.

You can't please everyone, so lets concentrate on me.
Again I ask..
Is there any reason so many people call them "tips" missions? I mean, when you find one it says "Tip found!" When you talk to the Alignment contacts, they say "Investigate the tip to find out what you need to do."
Why a plural for a plural (tips missions)?
My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor
"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."
I only call them Tips when I'm talking about more than one

I'm working today on bringing a Stalker from Rogue to Hero. I am loving the Tips missions I am getting today. It's not "Oh in the Rogue Isles I decided doing everything for money and now that I'm in Paragon I'm doing it for pure altruism ..." It's "I'm still out for number one but I'm learning that there are things I WON'T do and maybe I'm changing ..."

Ill be declining this one unless I just have to have it from now on.
There is another one whereyou have to clear a three-level map hunting for "bomb" glowies which are stashed in the most obscure corners of the map imaginable. This would be less of a problem if the glowie sound had not been recently reduced. Even turning up the sound is of limited utility in finding them. I forget the name, but I know it when I see it and thats another one I skip unless forced.
I like the Save the Bane Spider morality one though.
I too love doing tip missions Just the way how each one feels completely different depending on which choice you made.
Wierd but i prefer doing them as i level up a character since it feels like the main "tip characters" are leveling up as the same time as yourself and chosing their own morality at the same time. Feels more personal

I admit I've only run Tip missions on my 50s, but I like most of them. My favorites are the Villain versions of "Uqua: Dead or Alive" and "A broken Jaeger". The Uqua one for 2 things- it feels very villainous and opportunistic raiding a Rikti base while everyone is distracted, and 2- any time I get to smack Flamebeaux around I'm a happy camper.
The Nemesis one is a blast for 2 words....SHOCK TREATMENT!!!!!!!! The first time she yelled "For my Toothbrush!" I lost it.
"Well, there's going to be some light music and a short note of apology saying, 'The universe ended last week, we're really sorry, we don't know what you're doing here, didn't you get the message?'"- Steve Moffat
The tip missions are great writing. If ONLY, for the love of sanity, they'd go back, kill all the old 'content' (I hesitate to use that word about so much dross...) and replace it with the new stuff and new tech that is coming out. It'd be fantastic.
Heck, if the alpha slot had just been the same old same old, I wouldn't have un-retired my level 50. But Alpha is having a whale of a time doing exactly what he wants, not what some Arachnos goon is telling him to do.
"Oh, Hardcase...I remember you...you were that jumped up little **** who gave me lip and orders that time, right? Eat laser, punk!"
"!!!"
Viva la Awesome
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I used to like statesman
He used to be my ingame idol
A man of courage, hope and all that is good within the world
Now i hate him
He is a coward who is scared to take the risk that could potentially rid the world of all evil
He will be the first to suffer the full wrath of a true hero who was able to tame the well!

My favorite part of the tip missions is interacting with the Rogues Gallery. It reminds me of comics from my childhood when having a hero "guest star" in another hero's series was a big deal, or one of those monthly "team up" titles. For example, I bought my first Daredevil comic because it had Spider-Man on the cover as a guest star. Same thing with signature villains appearing. It just feels like you're stepping into a fully formed, well-established universe.
I also like how the personalities of the Rogues are portrayed, and the subtle changes each character undergoes depending on the type of arc you're playing. (i.e. Hero vs. Vigilante). Polar Shift, for example, is either an unbalanced, loose cannon or justifiably paranoid, depending on which tip mission you're running.
Similarly, Stalwart's involvement in the Hero tip mission was surprisingly poignant in light of his reason for showing up at the Family drug deal. I didn't expect such characterization.
So yeah, I'm also digging the tip missions.
