Purple drop rate?
Random stuff is random is my #1 thought
I know I haven't run enough stuff to get even a feel for the current rate.
As for the prices dropping, people are out there running their 50s through non-AE content, defeating lots of foes.
This leads to more drops, and hence greater supply.

Something does seem off. I've had 3 purple drops in the last two days. Good luck? Perhaps. I think it'd be worth keeping an eye on at least.
Yeah, random drops are random was my first thought too.
But like, the two I got burning the Incarnate arc I can easily shrug off as random, but getting 3 purples in as many runs of my farm map is a little more difficult. For reference, I usually get 1 purple every 2ish runs.
As I said, I've gotta test it more. If that yields me lots more purples, so much the better

I hope it hasnt increased.
Too many things are being made easier imho
I've had periods before where I've gotten a purple recipes every couple of missions for a week, and then pretty much nothing for months afterward.
OK, so anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, but I don't pay attention to short term trends in drop rates any more.
If you're still getting them at that rate in a months time, then enjoy casually purpling out your <insert AT of choice>

<--- hates the RNG
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world
The kind that makes things happen
The kind that watch things happen
And then there are those of us who keep asking "WTH just happened!"
The last purple I got was a Coersive Persuasion back in July or early August. Nothing since then, especially since I19 hit.
I am among those who have been clamoring for greater challenges. I think too many things have been made easier already.
That's my opinion. |
Also, if you want greater challenge from the other content in the game, there are all sorts of options, like setting your difficulty to +4 and starting TF's with the 'Disallow Inspirations' and 'Disable Enhancements' options turned on.

Also I find the timing of complaining about the game getting easier kind of off in that we finally got some more difficult TFs this patch.

I realise I could just be having really, really streaky good luck but uh, has anyone else noticed a higher purple droprate? I've not formally tested it yet myself, but the few runs of my farm map (Liberate Television, +1x8) have yielded more purples than usual.
I've noticed the purple prices on the market seem to be dropping too, so I thought the two might be connected. Anyone else notice this? Or have other ideas? |
I got probably 8 or 9 purple drops before this patch. Not a single one was from an AV, GM, or even an EB. There was nothing difficult about getting them; I just got lucky.
|
Can't a guy be happy about one thing and not want some other thing not to be messed with?
i think they were increased...
i mean really does it matter , people have a ton of cash especially from the farming before I19. I have had 2 purple drops in 2 days... both times in the bsf . if they are rewarding people more for doing content GREAT! reward the people actually playing the game.
... has anyone else noticed a higher purple droprate? ...

Very good luck, or coincidence?

May be time to start collecting data.
Making them easier to get means that it's easier to get them. There's already been enough 'easier' added imho.

Ever heard of a Tautology?

The drop rate seems identical to me...
I haven't got any in the past couple days, which is the same result as last week...
Cheers,

PS> As others have mentioned, if that isn't just a case of "RNG is random",
it may be part of the same issue that is breaking PvP drops, or it might be
worth re-mining the rates if they continue.
I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.

Back when purples were released, before the improved diff slider, I farmed quite hardcore for maybe 50 hours and would 5-box the demon mission. During that time I probably had 15-20 purples drop. I was subbed but more or less "away" for a lot of issues (pre-MA all the way until just before GR, basically), and upon returning, I've found purples just aren't dropping for me. I've had 1, maybe 2, both of which were junky (like, Sleep/Confuse recipes)... and yet I've probably full-cleared the entire Sam Naples map (minus the objective pack behind the building) at least 50 times, because I was powerleveling my own ill/rad. (Fun sets, always wanted one, but I just don't have any interest in playing it pre-Phantasm.) In all that time, zero purple drops. And I've cleared it a few times as I gathered tips (I'd 3 box set to 5/+0, to get all 3 accounts tips, so I could pick and choose the tips I enjoyed more). (Edited to note: yeah, once got 3 purples in 2 map clears.)
So, yeah, a ton of killing, plus I've run maybe ~6-7 L50 task forces. (Which in the grant scheme of things matters little, since that's drops being split 8 ways, and when I farm I get it all. )
Heck, back in the day, I got 2 purples just from the times I'd be killing time clearing the top of the Fortress with my warshade in Cimerora.
So I would have said, if anything, the drop rate was lower/much lower. Glad someone is scoring.
