A program that lets you build characters outside the game, slot arbitrary IOs/HOs/etc in them, and see the resulting numbers.

Thanks seebs, but one follow-up then. Why do I see people say, "are mids posted yet"? and things like that. What would need to be posted?

Mid's needs to be updated for all the power/math changes in each issue.
So folks are wondering when the new updates will be going up.

New Issues include content which the current* version of Mids doesn't account for. Examples include new powersets (as the software depends on choosing powersets as one would in game. If the data's not there, you can't use Mids to build for the new powersets), new enhancements (new invention sets as they came out - such as purples, pvp ios, the fast-recharge aoe sets, accurate debuffs, etc) and with Issue 19, the Alpha slot (and, presumably, the new incarnate sets and enhancements as they are released in future issues).
What people are eager to see is the addition of the Alpha slot to Mids, in order to review the overall effectiveness of their powers with Alpha enhancements in place. (Maybe this has been done already? I haven't updated Mids in a while...)
*ie, the version which hasn't been updated with the new issue material, but otherwise is up-to-date.

Take, for example, the following two "questions:"
"Why is the level cap 50?"
"why isnt the level cap 100 i want more slots and powers this game sucks!"
One of these will be answered respectfully and most likely in great detail. The other is trite nonsense and will be treated as such.

In particular, the version of Mids that was up last I looked didn't have inherent stamina available for slotting.

To be brutally technical, the last level cap raise was from 40 to 50, and accuracy was nerfed, but that was for critters, not players.

I too noticed that on my healer my accuracy seemed much lower after the last level cap raise. Especially when farming the AE.

While confuse powers do tend to reduce xp per critter, when used intelligently they increase xp per minute.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!
I see a lot about the "mids", but I have to suck up my embarrassment and just ask-what are they?
