I'll lament your trailer-making absence. I had hoped Paragon Studios would take some inspiration from you, and begin injecting some story-telling flavor into their trailers. Then the Going Rogue trailer launched, seemingly with a randomly stitched reel, besides the classic pan from Cole's speech to the underground (which was epic).

To be fair, your Going Rogue launch trailer was heavy on features, also at the expense of story. But upon a broad comparison (which is hard to avoid making), I feel like you "get it" when it comes to the fusion of comic book drama-action and our MMO here. I mean, those three opening scenes in your Issue 19 trailer, just wow. Drool. Yes. More of that.

No seriously. Please. More of that. People have OODLES of avenues to learn about upcoming features in issues. Where can we go for some true cinematic magic, the kind that gives you the itch to take the blue pill and log in again? So far, you're our only source, Dark Respite!

Some of the past official trailers have been decent. I personally liked the Issue 11 Stitch in Time and Issue 12 VEATS trailers, and not just because they had fancy voiceovers. They built them around an idea and used it to showcase the features of those issues.

Using stock sounds they could have made the Apex trailer look like a live news broadcast or some bystander camera-phone footage from Kings Row in the first seconds of the invasion. Or have a newschopper covering the Phalanx's failed battle at Terra Volta. Lots of ideas work, it's just a matter of someone at Paragon Studios having the time to do them.

The I-11 trailer remains my personal favorite of the official non-CGI trailers. That was part informative, part cinematic, and all epic. I WANTED to play that issue! (Close second for coolness was the start of the I-10 trailer where the sky went green over Atlas and the voiceover starts, "The Vanguard were right..." They could have stopped THERE and I'd have wanted to play.)

As for someone at PS having the time, that's what official videographer (whom I've met) and his team are for. Granted, they've got to jump through whatever hoops Marketing makes them (and man do I feel sorry for them for that), and that's their single biggest leash. On the flipside, I've ASKED Marketing, "Hey, can you give me the same restrictions and wishlist you give the vid team so I can have a go?" They never answered me. Oh, well.

My advice? Someone else start a thread looking at the official trailers over the years, and tell Black Pebble about what KIND of trailers you guys want. Tell him you find the cinematic and the comic-book more appealing than just a feature list (although those are important, don't get me wrong). Give examples from the official vids of "now THIS made me want to play". If enough players speak up, hopefully you'll have a positive effect and the playerbase will get the videos it wants and that the game deserves.

But if you do, please, by all that's holy, nobody say a word in that thread about them hiring me. Just... don't. For me. Please.

I do want to do that one as well, once I can convince Leandro that he really DOES want to do the voiceover for the MIMIP for me. And I've had about nine people offer to do the general voiceover work.

But wouldn't me doing a MIMIP ad count as a trailer for the game?

This one has the potential to be seriously amazing, even if I do say so myself. But because it's going to be balls-to-the-wall fast, I need to script out scenes very carefully.
