It is a well known fact that the success of any Hero (or Villain) is a well balanced breakfast every morning before they go about their noble (or dastardly) business.

What you don’t know is that there is a very particular brand of cereal we, at Paragon studios, have been sending to a few well known sites in order to promote City of Heroes Going Rogue.

Discover Utopios complete Breakfast! Recommended by the Praetorian Heart Association!

And remember, eat healthy and drink Enriche!

Quite awesome.

I'd buy some of that if it was available here.

Of course, the DN artwork just adds to the desire.

FPARN

EDIT: In fact, I'd drag around an empty shopping cart to fill up with them if they were available here.

If I had a CostCo across the street where they were available it would make it more handy.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

I always saw Enriche as a power aide/Gatorade kinda drink. I guess they need to make a Milkenriche as well.

Hey, what an amazing coincidence. Just yesterday Kotaku got a similar box and we all talked about it on the CoH forums and...*checks link*

Right.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're lucky enough to get the press/marketing kit, yes, it is real. I've seem some very, very ingenious press kits to publicize various products.

Huron: "...with Coffee primary / Attitude secondary"
Charnage: "Please. Think of the poor defenseless desks."

"The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. It failed... In the year of the Praetorian War, it became something greater... our last, best hope for victory."

I laughed at the back of the box; it's one of Ava's crossword puzzles that she used to do for costume codes.

I miss those contests. New costumes and I have none of them.

and yet the press that actually, you know, PLAY THE GAME, don't get anything.

They probably wanted to go with gaming press that people actually read.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

Harsh, but true. I do believe Mike is a fan of the game though.

I never start my day without a bowl of Utopios. It's the best part of a complete heroic breakfast.

i'm not really familiar with that site, even though i'm familiar with Kotaku, and Massively, and all the other gaming sites that have been linked by the Mods on the forums. Do you know offhand how that site's readership compares to sites like Kotaku?

i know that press packages like the Utopios one aren't generally produced in massive lots, so they're generally only sent to high readership outlets who have a significant presence in the gaming community or wider media.

He promotes that site when he gets a chance to.

Ah. Right then. Does it have at least the readership of Rock Paper Shotgun?

Who, AFAIK did not get a Utopios package either.

i have noticed that other sites tend to have writers who play CoH as well, so i'm not sure playing CoH makes you uniquely qualified or particularly unusual among gaming sites. Hell, even Yahtzee over at The Escapist has tried CoH.
And he liked it more than he likes most MMOs.
Considering his jaundiced approach to games in general, and MMOs in particular, it was surprisingly positive.

While it was a decent enough overlook, if slightly skewed in CoH's favour (not a bad thing ) I've also never ever heard of the reviewer or the site. Whereas Kotaku and Massively I have. I'm not very well plugged into the internet as a wider entity.

It should be obvious that playing CoH and liking it isn't enough, as marketing needs to get the widest audience they can with any of their efforts.
