Discussion: Issue 19 Respec Tokens
I just thought of something.... With the huge amount of Respecing going on in the next 7 days (assuming they hit the 11/16 deadline)- there's going to be a TON of heroes/villians "just standing around" while their players respec complicated builds....
That means the game really has become "City of Statues" that the Devs once feared so much!!!
"Well, there's going to be some light music and a short note of apology saying, 'The universe ended last week, we're really sorry, we don't know what you're doing here, didn't you get the message?'"- Steve Moffat
Dont forget with the release of Issue 19, not only will one free Respec token be granted to all characters but another one will be granted exactly one week later. Since these dont stack, if you currently have a Respec and wish to use it, you might want to consider doing so soon so that you can free yourself up for those coming with Issue 19 and beyond!
Thanks! . |
Sounds like release is tomorrow.
It's funny, but most of the people I see complaining about the respec tokens are the same ones that should have a bunch of them on each toon from their Veteran Rewards. Granted not all, but still a bunch of the posters here anyways.
with rampant altitis, a week seems kinda short for the first wave of respecs, so a longer delay until the second one would be appreciated if they can't be made to stack.
even more appreciated would be a quality-of-life improvement on how power trays get refilled when a respec is completed - how about setting it up so that Primary powers get loaded in tray one, Secondary powers in two, Epic/Patron Pool in three, Inherent in four, Day Job in five, Temporary starting in six, and so forth... it seems sometimes like I spend more time fixing tray setups after a respec than it took to step through the respec so this would definately help if it could be put in thanks! |
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
I have a headache about thinking about all the toons I have to respec. I only have 21 and 4 50s but that is still alot of work. 2 of the 50s are EATs eek. Carpel Tunnel here I come. ;P
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!

1. Do I have any that don't need stamina? There's a bunch I no longer have to worry about - quite a few MMs, for me, in this case.
2. Do I have any 50s I don't want to change? This is a big one - if the character's fine and I don't *want* any extra powers, I'm not respeccing them.
3. Do I have any I can change now? Mostly lowbies, here, that I'm doing a fast respec to drop Swift, Hurdle,and/or Health from *now.* Might as well get them ready - if they don't have stamina now, it's just fitting slots later.
It makes it feel like much less of a "project."
Then again, I have something like 20 50s (and another 3-5 close,) and a few of them are *really* going to jump on this - my Khelds and my highest Stalker most certainly. Just have to prioritize.
I'm a little off the token topic, but staying with the respec one. Has the respec recipes been eliminated? I have personally never gotten this drop and never spoken to anyone that says they have.
Here's a question -
I have a 50 MM that I brought hero-side. Have never respecced her so she still has the Vill APPs.
If I respec her, she'll lose access to the Vill APP, that I know. But what if I respec in build 2? I *can* just leave her original build the way it is, correct?
Asking because I rarely respec characters as it is already.
Currently playing:
The Domestic: Broom/WP
Shadowhex: Dark Control/Dark Affinity
Defenestration Lass: Grav/Kin
"See, this is what happens when you have to shove all this stuff into your pockets: it's easy to misplace a suborbital warhead." -Arcanaville, on how crowded our power trays are getting lately

As for your second build, that is a different matter entirely. When you do a respec it is only for one build and does not affect the other build at all.
Hope that helps some.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
Cool, so they do still exist. I was really starting to wonder since everyone I asked in-game about that (after posting) said they had gotten one to drop in the first month after it was introduced to the game and hadn't seen one since OR had never seen one. Thanks for the info Diggis.

Had my second one drop a couple of weeks back - it will be going on the market at some point - probably after I19 though.
As some of my toons still have their I4 freespec - and the only one I've ever respecced is my widow - and that only because it is unavoidable - I'm not exactly worried about needing it.
If I've no expensive sets I may just use the second build instead on some - other cases I'm goint to break habit and respec.
Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.
1387 badges, and counting

The great thing is that leveling them will now be easier! We wont have to stop dead in one of the weakest leveling segments SoAs endure, and pick up three powers that are not attacks or shielding, in the name of being able to run a toggle or two. I sez, YEY
I have two respec recipes on Agent Afterburner, but those are the only two I have ever received - and I have 72 alts and 25 lvl 50's...I would expect the drop rate to be better than that, but oh well. I don't really need them with all my vet Respec's and the Respec TF's.
One Week will not be enough for a great many people. I have all my rebuilds planned out already with IO's and have been buying recipes for weels and still cant imagine getting all the respecs done in ONE week.
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-
From one point of view though, all you need the respec for is to grab the inherent fitness and pick three new powers. Could be done with one respec.
Changing IO's, redoing your build etc is optional.
I'd still like more time between, but thats because I wont to change around my builds more than just making fitness an inherent.

All I can say is "Thank Bob all I have on my toons are S/Os"
With the sheer number of respecs we'll be doing, is there any chance that we can push the second freespec drop back at least another week or two?
"I never said thank you." - Lt. Gordon
"And you'll never have to." - the Dark Knight
