I thought I was going to see a cute kitty video, but instead it made me sad.

That video was so sad. And I couldn't help but think they were making the kittens do it on purpose just for the video, which might not be bad, untill you learned one died.
Then it's like, well, maybe if you didn't try to induce the effect on purpose so often.

With as sensitive as the disease is an extra few times for the camera wouldn't be any worse than the dozen or more times they would do it a day anyways. Seriously. Phone rings? Collapse. Loud noise on tv? Collapse. Sneeze? Collapse. Stand up suddenly? Collapse.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and give them the benefit of doubt.
It WAS educational.
One comment even said that someone had found a stray that did this, but didn't know why (and that the stray lived for a good long while).
Since it is so rare in cats, it's important to let folks know it can happen... there may be more out there that have been misdiagnosed, or even put down as "defective".
I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the one kitten's death had anything to do with his "fainting" disorder. The respiratory problem could have been completely separate and unrelated.
