A9, The Iron Port
The ferals climbed up the side of the port from the beach. Just enough to see over. The scurrying humans looked like tasty snacks to them, but they could sence the danger and recognised the guns poking from holes in the buildings. Climbing back down to the beach, they jumped high nto the air, to fast for a normal human to see, and landed on the roofs of three near by buildings. One Feral to a building, their strong arm muscles easily ripping through the rusted iron of the buildings and inside, where they could reak a bloody harvest on the occupants, safe from outside gunfire. Their hieghtened speed, strength and resiliance to pain giving them great advantage over the mercenaries they preyed upon.
H3
Maria and Buzzclaw saw the flash of light as the disorientating flashbangs went off. Unable to see, they were completely at the mercy of any gaurds that may come to aid their friends.
Blade on the other hand had already knocked the mercenaries cold before they could switch to flashbang grenades, and saw the light coming from the building Buzzclaw had gone into.
The Corrander armour, piloted by the computer system MARTHA, went on the attack, charging forward and unsheathing a techno sword, like Blade's it was set to stun only, and began attacking anyh gaurds outside on her way forward, trying to draw as much fire as possible to protect her teammates.
E4
Erez'Zul walked onto the grounds of the abandoned insidium plant, looking around at the old buildings, wondering whether this was just a cover for what might lie inside.
"Search the grounds, look for signs of recent activity, Screecher...keep watch"
The 2 demonlings began sniffing the floors like dogs, walking around in circles, while the larger demons galloped towards the buildings, roaring as they did.

While he didn't much care to admit it, Damsel's actions certainly surprised him, and not only that she stared down the barrel of his firearm as if she didn't believe he'd fire as soon as she began her whirling dance in the air.
Fortunately for her, she was right.
In fact, he didn't do much of anything throughout her routine, letting time pass by heedless of her motions. At least as far as the human eye was concerned, all he did was retract the combi-cannon, the artillery clacking back into his lower left arm in a heartbeat, locking seamlessly back into his exoskeleton, its upper plate contoured to mesh with the rough, asymmetric curves of his armor.
Thne the lightning struck him.
Nothing seemed to happen.
For a second or three, he merely stood there, hunched forward and smelling of ozone, wisps of dust and smoke from the bolts that had struck the ground wafting past and about him.
Then he extended a finger and began to etch something into the ground between Damsel and him.
Letters.

Jungle-border, B4
As the area around the mirror gate was cleared by the abominations back in Castle Bathory a small host of 15 zombie warriors joined the three werewolves still in the hall. They where all suited up in dark armor and helmets... Some of them had swords... others where armed with old-fashioned machine guns. But two of them where packing flame-throwers.
In one line they walked through the gate to end up next to Jack and Lucard. Vladimir followed them as last... casting a shadow fall over the platoon of undead. Not that it helped much as the werewolves where obviously not in the mood to go stealthy.
Elizabeth once more repeated her instructions... "Take out the virus containers... Vladimir, make sure Lucard isn't infected!" At that moment the werewolves noticed the movement in the jungle borders... and a howl was sounded as warning.

Ghost-town, H3
Back at the ghost-town Suraya had summoned her light army. They where cutting away through cover snipers... taking bullets into their invulnerable animated mass. She blasted one of them with her powers and the deceived sniper turned around to hit a colleague in his face with his rifle.

The perfect, white sand of the beach ends, to be replaced with grass and dirt, to the north the dark jungle sits, with a few visible tracks, mostly animal, though one leading to the north west (G7) is clearly a track left by some sort of caterpillar tracked vehicle, several large rocks have scrapes of dark green paint against them, and several trees have deep gouges. The whole jungle seems silent, the heavy tree canopy creating a dusky form of light and snuffing the sounds from around the island. |
Patsy was the first to plant her feet on dry land, followed by Wilf who brandished a long rope as he disembarked.
"Once I get the boat tied up," Wilf called to the immortal. "I'll set up a rune gate around it. With any luck it'll get us clear of the island and give us a sharp exit if and when the need arises."
"Since when did you start muckin' about with portals, Wilf?" Patsy smirked.
"Since your smart little idea damn near gave Carly here an aneurysm." the mage answered bluntly. "Given the distance between us and the edge of those rocks back there, it shouldn't be too much of a drain on my power. Most gates are often used to travel between states, and rarely betwee-"
"Wilf!" Patsy barked. "If you can fart out a gate, fine, just soddin' well do it! If I wanted lectures on how you pillocks do that voodoo that you do I would have stayed in Newcastle for another decade or two, alright?"
"Pfft. Newcastle. Those jokers couldn't pull a rabbit out of their own a-!"
"Aye, whatever. Headin' for that ghost town anyway." Patsy said, storming off West before Wilf stopped her again.
"Aren't you forgetting something, Miss Crusher?" Wild asked. The mage then tossed a small device to her, something which resembled a Bluetooth earpiece for mobile phones. It had all the hallmarks of one. Small hole which could expose a microphone, small in-ear bud at the other end surrounded by a black plastic ear clip and a little black button with a red ring around it. Yep.
"Yeah, Wilf?" said Patsy, rolling the earpiece in her hand. "My phone's still from 2001. This isn't gonna work on it."
"It doesn't need to. I've enchanted it to provide a two-way link between that and one of my own. As long as there are no magic dampeners or blocks in place where you are, you'll get a clear signal, even if you're halfway to Hell. In a manner of speaking."
"In a manner of speaking..."
"Okay, I exaggerated a little. radius-wise, it could cover the entire Tri-State area around New York -in theory-. I'm not sure the halfway point to Hell will actually fall under that radius."
"So it'll cover the whole island, dampeners and other counter-magics notwithstanding?"
"Yes. Just hold the button within the red ring and talk. Easy as breathing!"
"Aye, try sayin' that when I grind your soddin' face into the sand, hun." Patsy muttered, clipping the device to her left ear and pressing the button. "TESTING! TESTING! ONE! TWO! FLAMIN' THREE!"
Wilf yelped and jumped, somewhat expectedly, and put his hand to his own ear. "Thank you, Miss Crusher, we've ascertained that it works! Now let's pray my hearing did NOT suffer any temporary impairment, shall we?"
Patsy laughed as she turned West again. "Get on with that gate, dipstick. I'll be back in a bit."
Of course, she didn't get -too- far before something caught her eye. The immortal crouched down to examine the tracks at her feet. Caterpillar tracks. Possibly something to do with the mining ops that went on here, she figured. Possibly not. Making a mental note, Patsy then pushed herself back to her feet and reached for the headset.
"Wilf?"
"Yes, Miss Crusher?" The irritatingly familiar voice sounded through the earbud.
"Spotted some tracks on the way West. Gonna have a little gander before I keep on toward Landborough. Could be nowt, could be summat."
"Good call, but don't waste too much time on it in case it turns out to be a dead end."
Patsy released her finger from the button and began following the tracks. A good look around soon made the green paint on the rocks around her as well as the gouges in the trees more than noticeable to her. The immortal kept looking, taking the opportunity to correct the buns in her hair and straighten her tank top.
"Either some pillock's been takin' these buggers on with a digger, or there's summat here I really need to start fussin' about..." Patsy muttered quietly to herself before pressing the button again. "Wilf, it's probably just part of the mining op that's been and long gone."
"Long gone, Miss Crusher?" Wilf responded. "If they were -that- long gone, wouldn't those tracks have been washed away by the decades since ops on this island were abandoned?"
"Hell if I know, Wilf." Patsy barked back. "It's not like it's easy to tell how much it's tried chuckin' it down or what other flippin' kind of storms nature's been throwin' at the place in the past half-century, is it? I'll look into it a little more before I start headin' west again, alright?"
With that, Patsy released the button and stormed further into the jungle.

"Faraday Cage" Hells read out loud. "He's grounded, shielded from electrocution. Not only is he ugly, but he's a smart ar*e too."
Damsel got back up and approached the creature on foot. "You speak English, that's good" she began. "I'm sorry I tried to fry you. Following the hail of thunder, the area surrounding the mine shafts begins to vibrate, shaking the very earth. With an explosion of rocks and snow, the giant iceball shatters, flinging bits and pieces of frost all over the quarry. Where the snowball had once been lodged now stood four empowered superhumans.

Had he been able to chuckle, he probably would've. This little woman had courage, he had to give her that much. Not a lot of brains though, he thought. Personally, he didn't consider taunting someone who might consider you a light snack a good idea.
He didn't dwell on it, however. The present situation was good enough. He was here to kill someone, not make friends. Since writing an explanation in regard to there being more than enough room around him for her to simply walk past him was thus a waste of time in his opinion, he merely turned back in the direction of the four superhumans, etching another message into the ground before them.
PLEASE MOVE FROM LINE OF FIRE
The snapping clacks of his left arm's combi-cannon deploying once more gave a fairly decent indication of what he meant by that - especially once the heat the switch to thermocannon mode created could be seen in a shimmer about the artillery piece. He didn't aim it at the heroes though, waiting for them to move as he more closely analyzed the mine shaft ahead, gauging whether or not it was larger on the inside.
Perhaps large enough to accommodate his size without having to melt his way into the mountainside...?

A massive hologram formed over the mountain, of the costumed and cowled Tomb.

Around the island hidden speakers start to broadcast ‘Welcome to the jungle by GunN’ Roses” as the hologram jams along with the game.

“We are compromised!” one of the squad leaders screams into his communicator.
Moments later he is gone, as is the building he was in. Explosiove round, after explosive round fired from within B9, as a tank brigade sought to eradicate the compromise with fire, shrapnel and tank rounds.
E4
There would be a whining sound, for a moment as barrels span to the correct speed before.
DAKAKDAKADAKADAKA!
Miniguns would fire from emplacements within the building and from the rooftop of the not so abandoned processing plant.
“E4 has contact over!”

As the music starts up, several puddles of acid form at the Court’s parties location, that is to say, several streams of aside are sprayed at the group, to puddle and spread as they eat away at dead leaf matter, and anything slow enough to remain in the puddles, three or four of the zombies are snatched away, wrist thick ropes of a diamond like substance forming on them and being pulled up into the jungle canopy.
H3
The snipers began to fall back, though not without doing ‘things’ first, as they abandon their positions and head further north, ducking and weaving into ally ways, dressed in urban camouflage.
G7
Something has ploughed through the jungle it seems, and if the deep tracks it has left are anything to go by at some speed. Tree’s gouged, rocks smashed and mud splashed and smeared, the tracks are recent too, the mud on the rocks still wet.
There is a flapping sound, as long bodied, heavy leathery creatures swoop down on pristine white wings, their long toothed jaws open as they hiss and caw. Part seagull, part crocodile, the terrible creatures know as Flockadiles attack, six swooping down from the canopy.

Assuming the creature is not much bigger than a JCB, then he should be able to fit, though how far within is anyone’s guess, the Insidium veins giving false positives on readings of width and depth.

Screecher quickly jumped in front of Erez'Zul, opening his mouth no sound seemed to come out, yet as the bullets were about to hit they reflected off of some sort of invisible shield.
Screecher was able to create sonic shielding to reflect the bullets away from himself and his master, though how long he was able to keep it up was still in question.
Erez'Zul raised his hands, dark orbs forming at his fingertips, as he did, the area around the building began to become lost in shadow, obscuring the vision of the gunners just enough to give his demons a fighting chance. Anything to avoid having to fight them directly.
The two larger demons ran at the buildings, jumping onto the walls they dug their claws in deep, climbing up the walls fast. The two smaller demonlings started throwing projectiles at the guns, one threw fire balls while the other threw small ice like crystalline spears, sharp enough to pierce metal.
The larger demons climbed to the top of the buildings, jumping directly at the men with guns, roaring as they went for the kill.

The hooded figure looked up towards the distant mountain as the hologram appeared. She let out a bemused sound as she sat on the edge of her roof and watched the show, temporarily distracted from the sounds of battle happening not that far from her.
As she sat, she idly pushed small pebbles off the edge of the roof, watching them fall and hearing them make a distant echoing sound as they hit the ground.
A9/B9
The feral in the building screamed loud and terrible as the shot hit, sending the creature flying upward, burned and screaming, its hind legs wrecked, but still alive as it fell to the pavement. It began to crawl towards the nearest building, entering as fast as it could and using its arms alone to propel itself at the nearest soldier inside. It hooked its teath into his skin and ripped his throat out, biting and drinking up his blood as it flowed out and eating chenks of his flesh, his skin and legs visibly healing and regrowing as he drained. Stunned, the other troops in the building came back to their sences and began to fire, the bullets entering their comrade as the feral lept up into the shadows of the next floor, leaving a rusted whole in the iron.
The other two ferals burst from their own buildings at their pack mate's cry of pain. Instead of heading towards him, they sprinted on all fours, headed for the tank.
H3
Blade moved quickly, speeding around the buildings to reach Buzzclaw and Maria, grabbing them without looking at what had been done and carrying them out and round to his secured building, stopping only to gesture for Suraya to join him.

Lucard sighed as the music began to play. "She really cant play that game at all can she, stupid brat, should stick to what she's good at" he stated in a calm voice, only a hint of excitement and rage showing in his tone.
Looking down, he noticed the acid and the zombies disappearing. Calling out "get out of the puddles!" he spun around and fired a stream of incendiary rounds into the trees, setting them alight, not caring about the burning zombies.

Patsy shot a look upward as soon as she heard the sudden noises above her, pressing the button on her earpiece once more.
"Found somethin'! They're big, they're ugly, and I don't think they're too chuffed to see me. Back in a bit!"
"Care to elaborate a little more?" Wilf enquired, oblivious to the threat due West of his own position.
"Maybe later!" Patsy barked. Keeping an eye on what she figured was the 'leader' of the flock - then again, they could all be in a mad dash to see who got to break their jaws on her - the immortal released her finger from the earpiece and planted her feet firmly into the ground, ready to bring her invincible fist into whatever passed for its chin.
She waited.
"Sorry, gulls!" Patsy mocked, faking a mockney accent blur the pronunciation of 'girls'. She thought it was funny at the time. Nevertheless, as soon as the 'leader' swooped down close enough she brought her fist flying upwards, returning to her normal accent - North-East English with a hint of Irish - to add: "I'm afraid you're gonna find me just a little too TOUGH FOR YOU!"

As Tomb's voice sounded, he looked in the direction of the closest speaker. The Insidium veins could try and mess with his senses all they wanted, but they were as sharp as ever, and he found the thing almost instantly, directing a good bit of attention to it.
True, normally he'd have directed his attention to the hologram, but the thick fog around the mountain hid it from view down here at its base. This was rather unfortunate (for him, that was) since if he'd known about it, there would've been a decent chance of tracking the origin of the transmission - and if it was live, right to the girl. He thus may not have known about the projection, but on the off chance she was really that careless...
He turned from the mine shaft and made his way to the speaker. While the chance was remote, and more than likely the music coming from the thing came from a recording that wasn't anywhere near Tomb, it was too good not to try. Carefully picking the little thing up between two sharp fingertips, he regarded the cables that ran out its bottom a moment. Then he began.
Regrettably, he didn't have the necessary skill to hut down a wired signal. Wireless was easy. A hard line? Not so much. Thankfully, he wasn't alone. He had someone - or rather something - that could do this for him.
Invisible to the human eye, a small number of machines no bigger than an angstrom made their way from the microscopic faults in his exoskeleton and into the speaker casing, floating swiftly to the contacts behind the magnet. From there, they attempted to hitch a ride the other way in the form of an electrical impulse. Normally, this would've worked without any possibility of failure, but Tomb was after all a supervillain, and she (or someone on her staff) might've been more clever than they were letting on...

Jack also noticed the zombies being pulled away but couldn't care less. They where after all just meat. Then he remembered the countess her final words... and he jumped after one at lightning speed. Only to grab his flame thrower and rip it of the soldiers back before he disappeared between the now burning trees.
He strapped the tank on his back and gave a quick howl to the zombie knight carrying the other one. A quick burst of two flaming cones set the border alight.
Jack growled and jumped to Lucard... "Vampire, my senses say that that jungle is one giant death trap... Unless you are sure there are viral containers hidden inside I advice to go around it!" In the corner of his eyes he noticed one of the Abominations falling in a puddle and slowly but silently dissolving. And many where damaged. Not that that would stop them though.
Cap Au Diable, Castle Bathory
Back in Castle Bathory Elizabeth growled at the sight.... "Fools, of course get around it! For now... Lucard send flyers over the woods to check for containers. I will try and get replacements."
With that remark she went down the dungeons... Vladimir folowing her. To re-appear twenty minutes later with several zombies and a spectre following her. It was time to get involved personally.

Priest had been observing the creature before him with peaked intrigue and was about to refuse to move away from the mine shaft entrance when Tomb's welcome message and loud music started blaring through hidden speakers. Whether the source of the sound could be traced and then tracked back to it's place of origin was yet to be investigated. As the dragon began fiddling around with something, Priest resumed his arguement.
"Whatever... whoever you are, I'm not moving from here" he began. "We need this entrance intact and I'm afraid your idea of firing on it would only weaken it further and risk a cave-in. My name is Pious Hunter. Why don't you tell us who you are and what you want on this Island? Maybe we can work together."
"Father" Altair called, staring curiously at the creature. "This dragon is technologically weaponised. I may be able to communicate with it technopathically."

Lucard snarled at Jack "I just told you the jungle was full of traps Jack!". He spun around looked south. "Tomb is that way, if you want to go around then fine, do so, but Tomb isnt going to store things in this jungle. Head south, make your way to the refinery and the city, I intend to reach the mines. I think Tomb is in the mountain. Jack, the zombies are under your command, not mine. Use them as you will, but as Elizabeth suggested, use flyers above the trees. Elizabeth, in this, I have one aim. Kill Tomb. I will hunt the creator, your boys hunt the virus."
Lucard headed towards the mines as intended, leaving the werewolf to do as he pleased. Lucard was fed up with the pitiful state ELizabeth had let the court get into. Recruiting mercenaries like the wretched elf Morilanthi, who had no respect for their betters, had made the Court weak and full of turmoil. Once Tomb was dealt with, Lucard promised to teach the Court, and the Council of X, to respect those who knew better than them.
B4, Jungle Border
Jack gave a short gnarl back to Lucard... "Fancy coat and a smart mouth!", he said in a growling voice. "I don't have flyers in this zombie platoon."
But he had to agree that the refinery would be the best place to find large quantities of viral infected blood. Or whatever the stuff could cling too. So he signaled the platoon under his control... Three young werewolves... then zombies, some slightly damaged, including the one with the flame thrower he had walk in the middle. The few with the guns took the end of the line. Then walked south, their senses scanning whatever was in front of them.
Cap Au Diable, Castle Bathory
Elizabeth and her undead servants stapped through the portal... a fast glance over the throne hall before the darkness consumed her. To be replaced with the sandy beach of the Jungle border. Not that anyone could see her as her shadow fall was hiding the group perfectly to all aside the most sharp senses.
She saw Jack and the cleaners platoon leave just behind a bunch of trees. The werewolf knew his task, it was better for her to remain unseen for now. So she lifted het servants aided by Vladimirs magic and followed the spectre who was checking if the sky was safe in front of her.

The edge of the jungle was quiet and undisturbed, backing on to the east side of the island. A breeze swept through the undergrowth and three figures appeared from nowhere. Tyran Gar and a pair of soldiers armed with guns and blades walked slowly towards the jungle with Tyran at point. He glanced back to the Priest as the angstromites - or rather the someone they stood for - did their work. Even without being able to make telepathic contact with the man, he could see a the 'no' written all over him. The numbers simply spoke against it far too loudly. According to them, he'd be better off just tearing his own path down into the mountain.
Of course, according to them, the best way of dealing with this whole mess in its entirety was to turn it over to an HHe bomb, and yet he hadn't listened there. So maybe...
He gave a mental shrug. What did he really have to lose? He reached toward Pious and Altair and let his clawed finger dig more letters into the ground.

Priest was evidently a little disappointed to hear this magnificent dragon was among the others, among those here to harm the little girl. "Right, err... Yak-slav" he began, in a low calming voice. There was a kindness to his tone while at the same time it remained authoritative. "Therein lies our problem. Tomb is a wanted criminal in my home country and it is my job to see that she is brought to Justice in a fair and rightful manner. This includes minimal harm in the process of arrest and apprehension. Put simply, until proven guilty, Tomb is under the protection of the Nighthunters heroic team, extension of the United States Government office of MAGI. You will stand down your threat Vyachslav. Are we clear?"
"I know you can hear me" said Altair, communicating electronically with the cybernetic dragon. "My name is Altair Mary Stevens. I apologise for whatever loss Tomb's bounty-on-monsters may have caused you, but killing a misguided youth is not the answer. It will not relieve you of your pain. Why not direct that energy into bringing her in instead? She will be subjected to a lifetime of mental treatment and maximum imprisonment. I can assure you. Please."
"Ask him what he knows Altair" said the Priest, unable to hear the technopathic messages.
"What will it be Vyachslav?" Altair continued. "Will you disarm and join us? We could work well together, you and I."
"Y'know, perhaps you chaps and chapettes should worry about finding said urchin first, and bicker about it all later? You do realise old bat-fink features herself is here too?"
On a little outcrop just above the group stood the DeFeurards. Or, rather, Maria and Lawrence were stood while Leon was sat with his legs hanging over the drop, cane swinging back and forth like the pendulum of a grandfather clock.
"Amusing though it is to hear you spout ethics to a walking array of firepower, armour and living badass, I would rather think that speed is of the essence here," the vampire added with a grin.
And, while the three were making no move to hostilities, there was certainly an air of 'unsprung trap' in the air, especially from Maria. It was clear that while they were happy to chat and come along for the ride, any move to engage would result in rather rapid response.

Destroyer had been watching the group while they talked, he wasnt particularly interested in what was going on but he had decided to stick around and listen for now, he knew who Pious was straight away from sight, the priest with white hair.
As the creature wrote in the ground, telling them it was there to kill Tomb, Destroyer looked at the mine again, presumably there would be nothing in there, although he realised it could just look deserted from the outside while having a base of some sort on the inside, he figured the chances of housing within something so unstable would be low.
Suddenly Destroyer heard a strange voice, one he had heard before and yet...not one he had heard in person.
Through Erez'Zul, all three of the triplets were connected, what they heard, all three heard, what they saw, all three saw, so when Erez'Zul had fought Leon DeFeurard at St Johns, Destroyer had experienced it all as well.
Though his expression was, as always, blank, his mind was racing.
The DeFeurards talked of balance, of order, Tomb was someone who disrupted that order, he knew Pious would not allow Tomb to be harmed but with the added help of the large creature, the victor of any battle remained uncertain.
Destroyer decided Leon was right, enough talking had been done, he needed to find Erez'Zul or at the very least...Tomb.
His eyes glowed a little brighter as he looked towards the mine, running directly at it he jumped up at the entrance, punching it as hard as he could.
The entrance began to crumble around him, taking one quick look behind him he ran deeper into the mine, bouncing off the walls some more until the entire entrance had collapsed, sealing the mine.
He knew that would not hold them for long if they really did want to get in, but it didnt matter, they would either become lost, waste their time, or if needs be, meet their end at his own hands.

Lucard had decided to speed up his chase for Tomb, and moved quickly towards the mine, flying at top speed through the jungle, keeping himself out of phase to avoid being seen or trapped. He observed the Vampires on the ledge, Pious and his team, and the Dragon with its writing on the ground and thought fast.
"well, It would seem that all parties, and atleast one unknown, has reached the place of main attention. I see the mine is collapsed, i assume one of Tomb's traps? or perhaps someone beat you too the punch? Leon, how can you shame the vampire name by wearing such an outfit into battle? and I do hope, Pious, that you arent going to risk the extermination of a people by being gentle with Tomb?" he said coming into phase with the world around him, a small smirk on his face but his words betraying his serious nature in this game of Tomb's own making.
section D5 was about to be come very interesting, Lucard could tell.

Blade looked at Suraya, then to the mercenary. They were in the metal hut Blade had cleared. "Suraya, see to the other two, make sure their alright. Lord knows what the sniper could have done to them. Now, how about you and me have a little chat my mercenary friend? First off, do you have any way to communicate with your commanding officer outside? Secondly, where is Tomb, and finally what traps, forces and plans do your people have?"
This jungle is home to many traps, mercenaries and far stranger creatures, like the one that charged forward at the sound of a voice. It looked to be the offspring of a rhino and a particularly vicious type of dog, it charges forward with long talons ripping chunks of jungle soil up as it charges towards the figure with a bellowing roar.
The creature passed right through, it's charge uninterupted and unhindered. It carried on for a few more strides, before suddenly losing all momentum and staggering, finally hitting the floor with all the grace of what it now was; a sack of lifeless meat and bone.
The Nightwalker examined the ghostly life essence that clung and writhed around the shadowy replicas of fingers on his right hand, before consuming it in one swift motion. Then, just as calmly, the figure shape dissolved, becoming little more than a dark fog that clung to the floor, waiting once moe while it's senses roamed further afield.
