D5, With the Vampires
Emerald had kept uncharacteristically quiet throughout the movements through the tunnels and towards the elavator shaft. Her greeting to Lucard had been a simple smile and a nod, far from her regular abundance of affection and cheer for those she knew well. She'd listened to all of the vampires and knew that something important to them as a species was happening and felt like she shouldn't be distracting them any more than her unexpected presence already had. That hadn't stopped her returning Leon's smiles however. Despite how serious the situation was she couldn't help but find some fun and excitement in the whole situation. Squeezing Leon's hand she finally spoke up "...if all of this might not be safe for you... is there anything I can do to help?" |
"I thought you always said it was stupid, Dad," Marira interjected with an arched eyebrow.
"Stubborn, stupid, we all have our moments," Leon waved a hand airily, smirking faintly. "Anyway...I suggest we get a move on, if we're going to actually find little miss troublemaker at some point today."

Blasting up would reveal a room, much like the one where the elevator shaft had finished, massive fluid filled capsules, ten in all filled with a warm blue fluid, and each containing a man, woman or child. Though unlike the vampire capsules, these are less containers and more life support machines, computer screens near them with read outs of vital signs and brain wave patterns.
When the trap door is smashed open by the missiles there would be no immediate effect, the trap door is dark inside, unnaturally so, the light from the room should show something inside but doesnt even manage to penetrate further than the broken lid, the edges of which are beginning to rust.

With a small grin, the girl lowered herself down in front of the Jaguar fighter. “Okay mister, I think I win now?” she spoke as she held the man in place. She outstretched her hand in front of her and slowly clenched her fist, the field around the man began to tighten and intensify even more, slowly crushing him. Intent on causing him enough pain so the man passed out, or otherwise, she did not care much by this point, as long as she was considered winner and let out of this hot room.
The coiling mass of shadow twitched, turning as faintly glowing eyes narrowed and looked around.
Prescence...where was it? Underground, with all this chaos, was begginning to cloud his senses.
Nightwalker slid back out of the tunnel like a dark cloud, hovering upwards until he seemed to simply fade into the apocalyptic sky. Ebon eyes narrowed further as he observed the sky above the exploding volcano, ash and lightning becoming one swirling mass.
"Fascinating...What power..."
Nightwalker waited, attention partially on the display in the sky, the rest searching for the prescence of his target;

Another epic attack blocked. Damsel was infuriated. "Pious, I'm running out of ideas!" she pleaded with her husband, over the amulet. "This monster, this unearthly Thing is too strong. He's resisted kicks, punches, ice, cold and lightening. Seriously what kind of creature is this?". Meanwhile, her hurricane continues to battle the Ox-man's sandstorm and the temperature in the room drops even steeper, nearing -20 °C as snow begins to form within the arena. Winter had come early and the structure itself may or may not cope with the increasingly severe weather summoning.
Frustrated and definitely pissed off, Damsel retreats towards the exit door and lobs a tiny pellet of ice at the man. "Fuc* off already you fat son'ova bit*h!"

Erez'Zul smiled, now was his chance.
He floated to the middle of the room, outstretching his arms, dark lightning erupted from his hands, surging through the tentacles, electrifying the room and unless he had escaped, the frog man as well.

Destroyer lost sight of Vyachslav in the dust and debris it had caused, he would most likely have lost sight of Hugo if not for his massive size.
The ground shook slightly as he clenched his fists, his rage growing with each passing second. He slammed his fists on the ground again, the crack in the floor stretching out a few metres.
He jumped high into the air, almost reaching the roof. Although none of the triplets could speak, Destroyer let out a loud, deep roar to show his anger.
He plummeted to the ground, driving his fist hard into the ground. Cracks shot out from the point of impact, encompassing the room around him, the very structure they were in was now falling apart.
He hammered his fists on the ground again, the impact like an explosion sending dust and debris in all directions.

Priest hoped Tyran would be able to successfully disarm the mechanical onslaught. He clutched his amulet and sent a message to Altair Stevens the technopath who was now far away on her way back to the States with Sentinel and Hellskiller's helicarrier ride. "Altair, this is Priest. I need you to run a search on this logo, I've taken a screenshot with my PDA. Sending it over to you now. Report back and let me know how the retreating team's doing." Altair acknowledged the request and started work on tracing the logo. With remote military-grade access to information databases, how soon would she identify the owner of the weaponised Lance machine? "Miranda, Conall" Priest began, communicating with the Port team through his amulet. He sent them a secret message. "Blade, Suraya" he thought out, sending them a different private message. "Pistol, this is Priest. Relay to Tombslayer to prepare the helicarrier, what's your location?" Pistol replied and the Nighthunter's team began their formation.

After numerous boots and acquiring a sore foot in the process, Patsy abandoned all hope with the North door and turned to try one of the others. That was when she spotted the girl, listening to her panicked offer and suggestion once the girl eventually spotted her.
"Hate to break it to you, kid," Patsy sighed, folding her arms as she slowly approached the girl. "But my only ride out of here's kinda gotten itself merged with a cliff."
The immortal then noticed another entry into the room and cast him a wary glance before returning her attention to the girl again, an expression of distrust forming on her face.
"That and I think all hell's decided to break loose upstairs, so it's not like we're gettin' out of here any time soon, I reckon. Then there's you, kid, comin' out of nowhere, hauling that thing with you and makin' a desperate offer for me to get you out of here, which kinda rings a few alarm bells, ya knaa?"
Patsy reached the girl, cast the new guy a cautionary glance and - arms still crossed - looked down upon her dominantly.
"So. Tomb, right?" said Patsy, taking something of an educated guess. "What's in the bag that's so important you can't leave it behind and lighten some load off you? Oh aye, and what's this god killer you're so scared of and all?"

Vyachslav lashed out with his free hand as the new ceiling quickly came too close for comfort (and especially flight), spearing his clawed fingers into the closest wall to gain support for a few fractions of a second while his feet sought hole's edge to grasp. They found it too, and fortunately it was solid enough to hold up, and not a moment too soon. The orange energy fields that formed his wing skins flickered out of existence once more as their power drained away, the black luster of their skeletal supports collapsing back into the matte pylons he could lay flush to his back.
He regarded the events below once more, unable to help a twinge of disappointment, then waddled forward and away from the hole, seeking an undisturbed wall. Soon there, he reached out and began to scratch another message into the material, at the same time turning his burning gaze to the scientist still held firm in his other hand. Vyachslav relaxed his grip a bit, turning the man toward the letters he'd etched into the wall, presenting them to him unmistakably as what they were.

The three containers crashed into the tortured soil with resounding report, coming apart in mere portions of a second, just as was expected. What was not expected, however, was that what emerged from the armored casings were [i]anything[/b] but battle drone.
Over three meters tall once they'd fully deployed, the swamp-green humanoid machines looked bulky and awkward, their arms and legs looking to be box-beam sections that were much too large in proportion to the comparatively slim torso from which they drew support. Their hips were unflatteringly wide, form serving function in providing solid, sturdy anchor points for the bulbous legs, and the wide section that served simultaneously as sternum and shoulders looked designed by someone with absolutely no sense of aesthetics.
Worse yet, the things didn't even have real heads, a small, squat cube that was visibly a multifunction camera jutting up between their shoulders like some sort of oversized techno-warts.
Ugly as they were though, their armaments held a strange allure. Though just as clunky and coarse as the machines in whose hands they lay, the long-barreled machine guns in their right hands were of visibly refined design, cooling jackets, gas-vent recoil compensation systems, and state conversion ammunition plans all tightly integrated into a weapon of pure, singular purpose. The buckler-like convex metal disk flanged to the lower left arm of each carried an even greater strange sense of functional beauty, adding both further defensive capability to the heavy-set armor of its machine, as well as making it a more versatile offensive weapon by providing point-blank range weaponry.
All in all, though they clearly weren't anywhere near as sophisticated as the Lance, each of the three was a visibly purposed piece of military hardware that probably wasn't to be taken lightly.
Especially on the move.
The three split up almost instantly, quickly assessing the situation for what it was and responding with rapid, resounding footfalls. Two went for what remained of the building, each on a different course, while the third sought some manner of cover in order to buy enough time for a further analysis of the forces assembled here - in other words, to try and puzzle out just who was fighting whom all here...

But this isn’t a normal situation.
“This isn’t a bag, it’s a dingy, and I’m intending to use it to get away from the island, some one will investigate why the island is gone sooner or later, just need to float until then.”
She tries to make her way to the elevator, though will continue her explanation if she’s stopped or followed.
“The Godslayer, it’s a nightmare made real. You see if you get enough psychics together, feed them enough drugs and psychotherapy you can cause them to have shared fears and nightmares, and if that fear is strong enough and the psychics powerful enough, you can bring it to existence in the waking world.”
“As for what it is exactly, it’s entropy in its final form, the eventual death of the universe, well a possible way for it to end. Darkness and cold, every half life ended, every metal rusted and every star cold and dead in the sky, stillness and decay throughout the cosmos. Luckily, it shouldn’t destroy much more than this island, which is why I’d really like to leave, I’d suggest you do the same.”

With an animalistic cry of fear, the Simi-ham ran towards the elevator, ripping it out and beginning to climb up the shaft towards the flooded lab.

The small hooded form retracted her hand, the field around the Jaguar fighter disappearing and dropping him to the floor. She walked towards the exit, picking up her piece of the key and after a brief glance over it she pocketed it before stepping out of the room. Stepping into the center room, she noticed Tomb along with the other woman and gave them both a cheery wave. “Heya! Everyone’s looking all over for you, you know? Hm, now you’re out here, what’s next?” the girl asked Tomb as she walked up to them, giving Patsy a smile aswell.

"Ah...there you are, little one."
The seething mass of darkness in the already apocalyptic sky turned inward on itself, arching down towards the plant. It hit the ground and simply carried on down, seeping through the earth itself, until it came across Tomb, Patsy, Damsel and the others.
Nightwalker paused as he broke through into the room, literally sticking himself to the roof shadows like a thick layer of oil. He settled down to wait again, watching as the scene unfurled beneath him. If he could avoid attracting the attention of the others, so much the better. If not, it mattered not. His goal was within his grasp, now. He could wait.

A wall of flame cut across the room, blocking the path of the ice. It slowly went down until it dissappeared entirely. At the western door stood a blonde man in a black suit, Erez'Zul had taken his key and put his disguise back on, leaving the frog man behind.
"Now now...wouldnt want to attack our allies again would we?"
He smiled, then looked at screecher, raising his eyebrow, Screecher nodded understanding perfectly, patting the spot on his jacket where the key was being kept.
Erez'Zul started to walk towards the group, ready to introduce himself anew, when he noticed the small girl standing there.

Something so big afraid of a dark hole? Why?
Then the dark tentacles rose from the pit, turning all they touched to dust.
Whatever this creature was, it wasnt good, he decided to follow Hugo, leaping from his spot to the other side of the room underneath him. He started to climb as fast as he could while staying behind Hugo, leaving him to lead the way.

Conall was about to attack the feral as he felt a very cold chill down his spine. Something dangerous had shown up and he knew that it was something that he could not fight.
"Miranda, can you sense what i am sensing?"
Without taking anymore time he charged at the feral and aimed for its throat.
Miranda heard Conall say he was sencing something and she tried to see if she could sence anything but she couldn't. She looked up into the sky and saw the lightning within the ash.
"Maybe that was he was talking about?" Miranda thought.
If the Werewolf was getting worried about it then it might of been a good idea to head back to the sub. Miranda just kept up her firing and her healing magics.

The ferals moved fast, dodging bullet after bullet. Though many got through, headshots at the distance they were keeping was a difficult thing for a vampire, near impossible for a mere human.
They however could smell something in the air, and with a foul look at Cornall, bolted towards the Insidium plant. One of the ferals had been badly injured in the leg, another was hit three times in the chest. But the fianl one was hit in the back of the head as they fled the scene, his brains spraying across the floor as he fell down dead. Vyachslav's only response to the scientist's rant was to put the squeeze on him, and quite literally so. Joints popped and bones flexed painfully as his large clawed fingers tightened their grip, their pressure making it hard to breathe and driving the man's blood into his head.
He thrust his captive closer to the writing, and the burning orange of his eyes was but a dim twilight, it created more than enough light to make out the letters. Vyachslav didn't care about the scientist's worries. He wanted Tomb, and he wanted her now...!

All hell had now broken loose. Everyone was fighting everyone. Alliances were dwindling and trust, even those already established was beginning to fade. Why was this little girl worth so much, Damsel wondered. For all she knew, the Federal Bureau and other government agencies had sent her and the Nighthunters to come capture her. Nothing had prepared her for this much competition. And who the heck was this madwoman holding the girl up against a wall?
"Damsel to Priest" she thought out, sending the message through her amulet. "I've somehow ditched the rock-man I was fighting. I'm back out under the plant and believe it or not, I have the target in sight. Tell everyone! Tomb is right here in front of me. Unfortunately, things are about to turn very ugly, very fast. So get down here before I blow a fuse!" With her superspeed, she moves in close to the girl thought to be Tomb.
"Miranda, Conall" Priest began, communicating with the Port team through his amulet. He sent them a secret message. [color=yellow] "Pistol, this is Priest. Relay to Tombslayer to prepare the helicarrier, what's your location?" Pistol replied and the Nighthunter's team began their formation.
|
Fully healed but still hidden in shadows, Priest slid shut his cellphone and ended a call from Altair. She had given him the Intel he needed. He wondered though what lucrative business attracted what he thought was a failing organisation, T.R.I.N.N.I.T.Y to this place, at this particular time. Perhaps it was a motive similar to almost every other villain currently on the Island; vengeance on Tomb, the killer of St. John. His thought process was suddenly interrupted as two aesthetically-challenged machines passed by, heading towards the elevators. Then his mind buzzed with a message from Damsel. She swears to have the target in sight. He had been told by the man over the speakers that Tomb was here at the Plant but he didn't expect her to be that easily accessed. He wasn't ready and nothing so far was going according to plan. This was bad. This was very bad.
"Miranda, Conall" Priest began, communicating with the Port team and every other Nighthunter present through his amulet. "Prepare the submarine. If you haven't secured the beach, don't worry. I have confirmation that our last helicarrier is prep'd and ready for take-off. Just get to your sub and assume your stations. Exit strategy is in play. I repeat, exit strategy is in play. Blade, Suraya... listen to me, we have a lock on the primary target. I'm not sure if the Court have dealt with our secondary objective, the blood virus, but Tomb is here right now, at the Insidium Plant. Tyran, Damsel and I are on it but Suraya, we need you here for cover. Blade, get Buzz and Maria and head to the Eastern shores. The chopper is prep'd and ready for take-off. I repeat, get to the chopper!"
Just then, a woman with a foreboding presence marched out onto the plains surrounding the plant, wearing the Nighthunter's Armour. The bruiser called Tombslayer, aka Axel Hunter, marched out with her. This was the helicarrier team, part of the Priest Corps. A flamer call Sinn, aka Samuel Hunter, followed shortly behind. Two enforcers Jacob and Jason Hunter marched out, followed by two younger thugs. Then without warning, a ten-strong posse of armed thugs stepped out onto the plains to join the assembly. The gang of eighteen, armed to the teeth, now surrounded the war-zone that was the Old Insidium Plant in a circular fashion. With a signal from the woman, they opened fire on the building. Essentially providing a distraction for escape. Meanwhile, she thought she saw something in the corner of her eye. Investigating, she turned her head in the direction of the swamp-green mechanoid.

Destroyer's wish was about to come true, though of course different than expected. Vyachslav hadn't been sitting there idle during his montage. Even as his long tail shivered the crate Hugo had thrown, sending them to rain down around the two - not that he expected it to harm them; they were, after all, only wood - he was already well into his further plans. If these two weren't content to deal with one another, he'd just have to give them something else with which to busy themselves.
So he aimed up.
A cacophonous roar strummed through the warehouse floor as the combi-cannon's interval setting pulverized a sizeable chunk of ceiling, all sort of dirt and debris raining down from above as Vyachslav unfolded his wings and powered up from below with great, purposeful beats. It wasn't enough to harm his opponents, but chances were decent that they'd find it rather hard to see in the rain of dust, rocks, and chunks of metal.
Naturally though, he didn't leave it at that. Why should he? There was so much more he could sic on them. The trap door in the room beyond the open blast gate was the next thing to go - or at least that was the goal of the multi-missile he sent roaring at it from the launcher in his back. Considering the thing carried a number of small HHe bombs, it was a reasonable idea. He briefly wondered what Warburg was like in this universe. Perhaps he'd take a look later on, after he was done here.
No, he certainly wasn't done here yet. The combi-cannon cycled again, and though the impact of the first chunk of concrete momentarily unbalanced the hovering and rising Vyachslav, it didn't stop him from lancing the thick, orange beam of a sun-hot thermocannon right into the explosive racks below. Truth be told, he wasn't sure whether their yield would be enough to do Destroyer and Hugo any harm (nor if the released virus would affect them), but he figured all the mayhem he left behind would at least keep them busy while he rose through the hole in the ceiling and into the floor above the storage chamber.
Was there anything here of note...?
