(Open Season) Isla de la Muerte Inslito ((The big fight thread))
What it could do was pursue. The mechanoid bolted after Damsel as best it could, but unfortunately its top speed couldn't even hope to match hers. First 500 mph and then somehow the speed of light was simply too much... ... |
Erez'Zul fell down a large distance before he managed to stop himself, the explosion had rocked him in mid air. Screecher was still in roughly the same position, using a sonic barrier to protect himself.
Erez'Zul began to think as others arrived, Damsel wasnt in the elevator, neither was Tomb, they obviously got off as the Priest began to carry them in the air.
Lucard suddenly showed up as well as the Desert Princess, things were getting too crowded.
He looked down as Lucard mentioned Tyrans injuries, then he saw the robot running off in a different direction, did it know something he didnt?
"Screecher! Stay here and deal with the situation as it unfolds!"
Screecher nodded, taking off his large black coat to reveal his green and blue suit underneath, a large gem in the centre of his chest.
Erez'Zul started to shimmer, turning invisible enough to go unseen unless someone looked directly at him and noticed the ripples in the air. He flew after the machine, hoping it would lead him exactly where he wanted to go.

Old Insidium Plant (E4)
Priest looked on with shock horror as a missile collided with the two machines he had seen earlier, causing an explosion that ricochetted with such a massive shockwave it cancelled out the Priest's own energy propellant flight and sent him careening towards the ground, momentarily stunned and disoriented. |
Her body started to glow and exploded in a bright light not unlike a miniature sun! [Flash]
Using the diversion she directly focussed on the Nighthunter... using her flames first to revive him [Thaw], then to greatly enhance him! [Thermal Shield + Forge] "Abrâr, the time to act is now!", she yelled out... |
Discarding the spent weapon, Patsy checked to ensure she still had the other rocket and the grenade launcher on her and was about to launch herself out of the lift shaft when she witnessed the flash. It was out of the way and the remaining walls at the base of the shaft blocked off most of it, but it still made her flinch a little.
The immortal sighed and launched herself into the air once the flash was gone, getting a good view of the battlefield and getting a good look at the lady trying to heal the holy man. Upon landing onto the charred ground just out of the shaft, Patsy swung the grenade launcher around her waist and took aim.
"And we'll have less of the flashing in public, missy." She said, assuming she was the one who just tried to blind everyone at the time and pulling the trigger to launch one of the void grenades. If they did what she had expected them to do, they wouldn't do anywhere near the damage they would do to a Nictus. Just knock her on her backside at least.
Though she wouldn't mind doing her a complete cripple job right now, she thought, but she had more important matters to deal with.

Without seeming to even look at the grenade, Lucard fired, hitting and detonating it halfway between Patsy and Suraya. Lucard had looked at the grenade, then back at Priest, in a split second, his vampiric reflexes reaching their maximum peak.
"Do not interfere with me girl, or you will share the same that as Tomb" warned Lucard, not taking his eyes of the Priest, but obviously talking to Patsy.

The girl shielded herself from the explosion, wobbling in air inside her little protective shield. She looked around, from Priest to the weird man pointing guns at him and others, to the hole in the insidium plant, to the blonde man and his friend. She was unsure what to do next, as Tomb was no longer here the Priest could be the one to tell them where to go. But she didn’t expect him to talk easily, and others around seemed quick to violence. Looking back again, she noticed the blonde man disappear, her gaze following the directions of the few ripples in the air she could notice before losing track of the man, barely noticing something speeding away into the distance. She felt a moment of hesitation. If she stayed, she could question Pious, but if she left she had a chance to perhaps find Tomb, or at least another way off the island. Focusing again, she bolted through the air after the green object in the distance. Her bright blue shield protected her from ash and other effects around the island as she flew with increasing speed. Her thinking being that she wouldn’t manage to gain anything at the plant before the others tried ripping each other apart first.

"One, some dipstick obvious didn't tell you sod all about me, namely the CAN'T FLIPPIN' DIE bit! Second, if you're lookin' to top the little twerp and all, hey, guess I'm on your side, aren't I, Captain Overcompensation Hat?"

Lucard still didnt look at Patsy, obviously not in the mood to be playing games as the island tore itself apart around them.
"the fate i have instore for Tomb is eternal inprisonment, not death. She will be tried and judged by the Vampiric Empire, and imprisoned for all time. You can share her fate or stay out of my way. Your choice".

Priest had crashed into a deep crater. Even in his unconscious state, the rocks in the ground wrapped around him like a shield. In his sleep he could feel something cosy and warm energising his body like a hot cup of tea on a winter's day. His eyes opened slowly to the vampiric Courtier known as Lucard seemingly holding him and the surrounding Nighthunters at gun point. As he rose to his feet, he felt Lucard turn his hand and fire. Not knowing the shot was aimed elsewhere, Priest coated himself in an armour of granite rock. He turned his head and followed the direction of the shot. The rocket-girl had fired again, but interestingly, Lucard had saved him. Or perhaps it was an act of power and control. Either way Priest decided to lower his armour, an act of pacifism.
"The terms of our agreement was rather vague" he began, speaking not to reason with the unreasonable but to buy himself time to reorientate with the situation at hand, "My choice of words were thus; what happens to Tomb is not up to me personally, all I wish is that we get her. That is to say, it is up to the United States Court of Law and not me personally. So as far as I'm concerned, the deal was to get Tomb and destroy the anti-vampire weapon. As fate would have it, the blood virus will perish with the Island. As luck would have it, Tomb walked straight into my hands, or rather, my elevator."
Standing up tall and resuming a confident posture, Priest sent a private message to both Suraya and Pistol then watched the surrounding villains. "The little girl is coming with me, okay? She needs help, she needs to feel a little love, not hate. Like every other American citizen, she is innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law. If you have a problem with that, take it up with your local State Governors, not me. I'm just a priest. Hope that clears things up, Lucard, was it?"
Lucard smiled back at the Priest, the smile is devoid of any humour or warmth. "Im not some fool you can talk into backing down Priest. Not more stalling of i will shoot that one" he gestures to Pistol with one of his guns. "the bullets are unholy, so if you stepped infront of it, they would no doubt kill you instead. Now tell your wife to bring back the girl, or else tell me where they have gone!".
Lucard's finger was on the trigger, and dark energies had begun to flow from around his feet and up his body.

Damaged by the bullets the grenade takes a few extra moments to explode, but when it does so. A ten foot in diameter sphere forms on the ground, a deep purplish colour and reflecting light in a rainbow bubble like sheen, as few seconds later it is gone, as is anything that was caught in the sphere a large crater gouged out of the floor.
Those with heightened senses, may of heard an odd voice as the sphere dissipated, or seen just the hint of writhing tentacles, those with magical senses would of felt the presence of something more ancient than the stars taking interest in those in the immediate area.

"I think we may have out stayed our welcome on this rock," he muttered to Emerald with a light squeeze of the hand. "And, while I'm sure we both dislike unfinished business, perhaps we should let the others have their little gad-about while we excercise the better part of valour..." |
Things had gone from slightly confused to mild chaos and as someone who'd only come to the island out of curiousity the idea of leaving was becoming increasingly alluring to Emerald. Absentmindedly gently stroking the backs of Leon's fingers with her thumb she offered up a small smile and a nod. "I think that's a good idea, things here are clearly a mess and there are far more interesting things that are less likely to end up with me dead to do out there!"
|
"Time to say ta-ta I think," he said, glancing at Bathory and her escorts. "I'm sure it might have been entertaining, Lizzy...had this not become one giant ****-up. Do make sure to clean up the mess? There's a good gal."
With that, the three DeFeurards extended their left hands, palms open. The air warped and split, a faint, see-through door appearing in mid-air. It was like a house door, simple and un-painted, just wide enough to allow one person. Lawrence opened it, stepping aside with a slight bow to Maria, which was returned as she stepped through into the hazy beyond. Lawrence followed as Leon took a hold of the door, holding it open for Emerald.
"After you, m'lady."

Miranda opened the hatch and saw Damsel "Oh Damsel its you I thought it was zombies" Miranda climbed out of the sub and stood on the deck. "Quick get inside I will keep and eye out." Miranda watched the zombies then suddenly felt the presence of something anicent she started to get worried. Miranda started to climb into the sub and sealed the hatch once again. Miranda turned to the submarines crew and said "Get us out of here." Miranda took her seat and tried to block the feeling of the anicent presence out of her mind.
The Submarine started to move away from the dock and turned to head out to sea.

Tomb was sick, not in the mental or social sense of the word, nor in the early nineties use of the word, no Tomb was physically sick, several times. Being jerked around at high speeds had done nothing for her stomach, especially as shed been able to see the tentacles of the Entrophic nightmare spouting up around the island.
Wiping her mouth on her sleeve she staggers towards the submarine, whether it would take her to freedom or incarceration she no longer cared, as long as she was off the island.

The shadowy form of Nightwalker stepped out, and then stepped out again, taking a form beyond that of an oily shadow. Heavily armoured black boots stepped forward, followed by a towering body clad in dark indigo and black plated armour. The black hood and sweeping cape, held in place in part by the arching black shoulder plates, turned to Tomb, briefly revealing the eyes like the sparks of dying stars.
The figure bowed to her, before extending a hand to her.
"I have an offer to make, Miss Tomb. One that would see your talents put to excellent use, with no restraints. All that I ask is that you come with me, and let me take you away from here."

After watching the trio of vampires summon the door Emerald couldn't help but smile to herself. Moving with grace and ease she placed a gentle kiss on Leon's cheek with a warm "Thank you" before putting her trust in the DeFeurards, feeling safer using the door having seen the two younger vampires use it first. Still she couldn't help but give a brief inhalation of breath at the slightest pang of nerves she felt as she followed through the open doorway.

The alleyway rippled with a faint golden light, and a non-descript door seemed to appear out of nowhere, opening and allowing four figures to exit.
The door vanished as Leon shut it behind him, before arching his back with a faint crack.
"Well...that was quite enough excitement for one day, dontcher think?" he exclaimed, grinning faintly. Lawrence merely shrugged off his jacket, undoing the top button of his shirt while Maria let down her hair.
"Back off home, dear?" Leon asked his daughter with a wry smirk.
"You are joking, right?" she shot back with a disbelieving glance. "You drag me all the way out here, I'm damn well going to sample the fabled Martial night life while I'm here."
"Larry?"
"Can't hurt to look around. I'm sure Maria won't get us in too much trouble..."
The last comment earned him a none too gentle punch on the shoulder, one Lawrence returned in kind. Leon smiled, turning to Emerald as the two headed off, beginning to bicker already.
"Kids, eh? Now then...I wonder if I could entice you with dinner, m'lady, after all that rushing around?"

"I finally get to meet the young genius in person. It's an honour."
The figure bowed to her, before extending a hand to her. "I have an offer to make, Miss Tomb. One that would see your talents put to excellent use, with no restraints. All that I ask is that you come with me, and let me take you away from here." |
Erez'Zul had been following the robot for a few minutes before he started travelling faster than it, the robot was obviously going in a straight line so he could guess where it was headed to.
Flying ahead towards the port he could see the sub in the distance, Damsel still standing on top of it.
The submarines hatch opened, Damsel getting inside it....alone.
The speed at which she must have travelled....or perhaps a teleport? Though considering his own problems with teleportation, he wasnt sure that was possible.
His brain flashed for a second, that sensation he always got when great power was around, somewhere close....definately on the island at least.
Whatever it was that was seemingly consuming the island was giving off an incredible amount of dark energy, but this type was different, it was like a pin point on a map.
For this energy signature to suddenly appear at about the same time Tomb had vanished....perhaps she was powering some sort of rocket? Or some form of escape plan at the least...
He started to fly towards the energy signature, travelling through the thick smoke was starting to become irritating at best, his entire body flashed for a moment, a low, yellow glow that vanished as fast as it had appeared. A type of shield to keep the smoke and ash from suffocating him.
He saw something in the distance, a small figure, roughly the size of a child, Tomb perhaps? in the middle of nowhere?
As he got closer he noticed the purple figure, its hand extended towards Tomb, whether it was her escape plan, or just another person here to hurt her, it just didnt matter anymore.
Erez'Zul landed hard on the floor, crouching as he landed, a dust cloud rising from his point of impact.
Dark electricity circled around his body, any form of vegetation around him either setting on fire or turning black with decay.
His body erupted in a tower of flame as his disguise burned away, the skin seemingly melting off of his body along with the black suit. His hair turning a dark red, a cape erupting from his back, blades bursting from his wrists, a goatee sprouting from his chin as his face contorted into something more sinister looking....or his normal look really, depends on what you consider sinister.
Erez'Zul looked at Tomb, or at least the little girl he had seen before at the elevator, it was still a tiny bit of a guess as to whether it was actually her.
He looked at the tall, dark purple figure, standing up so he was more on his eyes level.
"Get the hell away from her....NOW!!"
The fire began swirling around his body like a tornado, the black lightning swirling around his arms.

They were more machines of course, gliding stealthily beneath the surface of the water, their large, roughly oval forms flecked in black and blue to blend well with the dark waters of the sea. Like miniature submersibles, the roughly six-meter long mechanoids were wide and flat, sleek and streamlined, save for the hydrojets that propelled them from aft and the pair of large 'crab' arms that pointed ahead from the sides of each. The bulky, pincer-like 'hands' that tipped them tapered to points over a distance that very nearly matched the length of the main body, and indeed seemed to account for roughly a third of the things' volume, the multiple launch tubes within the 'claws' the machines' primary weapon systems.
Of course, that didn't mean they were their only ones.
Hoping to slip into the cavern undetected, their mission was in essence rather simple: stay just below the surface and put 24 millimeters of tungsten carbide through the little girl's skull in the fashion of a single-round sniper's shot.
Meanwhile, the vessel that had dispatched them once more cut engines, gradually coasting to a stop about 200 meters from the northern edge of the sea cave...

The ferals glared at the retreating submarine. Not prepared to chase it futher, they turned and followed the second scent of Tomb. Upon reaching Tomb's location they halted, watching the goings on and prowling around the edge, keeping Tomb in line of sight at all times. They made ready to pounce.

The werewolves and the incinerator platoon where met with a howling message from the Wraith Elizabeth send in. Now understanding that the viral lab was near the mine Jack silently moved away down the path to meet with his mistress.
The group was decimated... and in a lot of hurt. It seemed only one flamethrower was still working. But then again... was it still needed? "This island seems to be coming apart!", Jack said... "We may not be needing to destroy the virus... But I do want to get out of this hell-hole alive!"

This power... if she could control it!? She needed to know what it was. Looking at the closing portal she quickly replied to Leon and his kin... "The next time we met might be more... bloody!" Then she lifted her posse from the ground and made haste to the exit... ignoring anything and everyone around her.
Outside she saw Jack arrive... She also saw the state the island was in. The tendrils rose high... and the crater obviously showed that this place was on the verge of self-destruction. "Jack! We need to get out of here. But I want to make really sure it is destroyed."
She landed in front of the few left over from her once organised incinerating platoon. Adressing the one zombie knight who still had a flamethrower things had to be decided fast. "You... go down the shaft and burn everything even remotely looking like a containment! And don't stop for anything!" The knight nodded and activated the flamethrower.. then ran inside the darkness knowing full well he would never come out again.
Elizabeth looked up at the skies... "Lucard is after Tomb... I know he will do what he can... We have to make sure we can leave this place." She looked at the last one of the zombies who was in a pretty bad shape. Still having two legs but missing an arm and with a huge hole in his chest. "You stay here and be my eyes and ears!" She touched the leathery brow of the servant and made a direct connection with it. So she would be able to see what it saw! A proud smile came on its undead lips. "My honorrrr...", it said.
Then the blood countess started to chant. And slowly in front of them the island side of the dark mirror appeared. Moved from the beach to where they where now. "We will leave now!"
Jack howled once and his pack of battlewounded werewolves knew it was time to leave... one by one they jumped into the portal... Followed by Vladimir and the vampire queen her personal guard. Elizabeth looked up once more and send out a mental message to Lucard and Erez'Zul. "Get the girl and bring her. But if you cannot... the portal to safety is here and will stay open for at least 30 minutes. She can go down with her island. The virus and process is destroyed!" Then she stepped through the mirror herself.
