Pass.

Seriously, I grow less excited for this with every new update. And Spidey is my favourite hero.

Sigh.

can't be any worse than 3 was, so here's hoping it'll be worth admission price.

I know you're saying this to emphasize how bad 3 was.... but really... It could. Honestly, 3 wasn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. It was a massive disappointment, sure. The hype train behind it and the appearance of Venom as a major enemy gave the fans hope for an incredible experience... and when they didn't get it, they raged. Also, considering the awesome-sauce that was Spiderman 2... It's understandable everyone left 3 with a 'wtf' face on.

At the very least, Spiderman 3 had incredible special effects... does it excuse the rest of the crap? Maybe not... but as bad as it was.... it could have been a lot worse.

coulda been worse? LOL I lovelovelove Spidey and number 3 was about the biggest piece of crap with the name spiderman on it. The coulda so easily just followed the story from the 90's cartoon version and it woulda been pure GOLD.

I look forward to the reboot cause I really like the actor that's gonna play Spidey alot more then I ever did Toby. But of those 5 actresses the only one I really like is the one that played Alice in Alice in wonderland.

Spider-man 3 could have been much, much worse. It could have been Batman & Robin bad.

Nothing could be that bad .....could it ?

Of course we each can rank the following as we see fit and some may not be on this list for certain individuals but I don't think any super hero movie wants to be in this company:

Spider-Man 3
Batman and Robin
Elektra
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
Superman III
Daredevil
Ghost Rider
X-Men 3: X-Men United
Catwoman
Jonah Hex
Hulk (Ang Lee one)
The Spirit
Superman Returns
Punisher
Supergirl

and many many more I am sure I have forgotten.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

It would appear comic book geeks are a very fickle group. Clearly being unable to please everybody (especially comic book geeks) writers and producers go for mass market appeal instead of the niche group.

It actually seems a virtualy impossible task to bring a comic book hero to life. When folks read the comic they assign to him/her a voice and style that the READER has selected in their brain. And when the writers/directors don't (magicly I guess) exactly match that voice then the film gets trashed by the niche group.

Oh well, I'm gonna go watch Ghost Rider now. I do like that movie. (but then again, I never read the comic book)

And is Spidey gonna be the new James Bond? A different actor playing him every few pics?

I think it's hilarious that there are people on those boards seriously suggesting Catherine Tate and Scarlette Johanson for the role of Mary Jane in this film which is supposed to be set entirely in High School.

I can't be bothered to care about a new Spider-man movie unless it's being done by Marvel Studios. Wait scratch that, I can't be bothered to care about any Marvel comic book movie that isn't being done by Marvel Studios.

Obviously it should be Molly C. Quinn.

Sure Batman and Robin were bad and Arnold as Mr.freeze well....LOL. But I always took it as an omage to the Batman show of the 60s with Adam West, you know a joke.

where as spidey 3 was suppose to be serious instead it was just CR@P.

'Could have been worse' doesn't mean 'It was good'. There are plenty of movies that *were* worse than Spiderman 3. Granted, there is a subjective element here... but in pure terms of quality in all areas of film making... Street Fighter (the first, not the recent Chun-Li adaptation [That's not to say I don't think it's bad, I just haven't seen it yet and don't think I could accurately judge it's crapitude]), Mario Brothers and Plan 9 From Outerspace immediately come to mind. Shall I name more, or do you understand my point now?

Ok I got what you mean. Though I am a sucker for bad movies though, I liked both the First Street Fighter(yes the one with Jon-Claude van dam) and all the mortal combat movies and Mario Bros I kinda liked also but that just may because I was like 8 when it came out and you know kids. I can't comment on Plan 9 from outerspace though never saw it.

I think cause I am just such a huge spiderman fan that I was so highly dissappointed with it and how they basdardized it and Venom. Lets just agree it's the worst spiderman anything ever done.

Hhhmmm.... Fair enough. Quite frankly, I think 3 should have been 2 movies. Venom in his own deal, and Sandman/Hobgoblin (I despise they changed the flier into a neo-flying-skateboard) in another. Now, if only they had the balls to have Black Spiderman kill off a lowbie thug as the downside for the new suit, we wouldn't need that idiotic Emo Spiderman song and dance.

Before your time, but google the live action Spidey TV show from the 70's. I think you'll revise your "worst spiderman anything ever" nomination

Except for being in the 70's and made for TV it can get the same pass the Adam West Batman does.

I also think Brand New Day is the worst Spiderman anything ever.

Emma Stone and Dominique McElligott. Yes please.

Except we all know that teenagers in movies are actually 20 somethings so adults are not uncomfortable by the nudity.

Oh wait, that's the Porky's films.

Anyways my point is as a teenager, she's too young to play a teenager.

eh, i dont know about BND, but i will nominate both One More Day and One Moment in Time as actually being the worst atrocities with the Spider-Man name on it. up to and including the Indian/Bollywood Spider-Man.

Yes, when we're listing off the worst spider-man anythings ever, let's not forget the Japanese Supaidaman, where of course Peter used a giant robot to fight crime, or the 70's American Spider-man live action TV show. That and some of the older cartoons....no. Spider-Man 3 does not rate. It was a disappointing follow up to Spider-Man 2, but it's also the victim of fan hyperbole. It would've been better with only Sandman and the Goblin (not the Hobgoblin, as somebody in the thread said: harry was never the hobgoblin), sure. Lots of things it could've done better, but it's still alright. I own the DVD and don't regret it.
