CAn we get some?

Like special effects when we kill someone with certain types of powers.

Also can we scale fall damage up tons so when people get kicked off 10 story buildings they actually die? The damage only applies when you're being KB'd off a buldings, so you don't die from accidently walking off.

we don't kill anyone in this game. they are arrested. and when we defeat them they are teleported to the jail hospital.

lol. im not going to get into a battle of wittless with you. believe what you want. that is part of what the RP part of an MMORPG is. just know that these types of things are probably far up on the never scale.

Unless that KB does damage, then no amount of fall damage will kill you...

You can leap/fall/get knocked off of the tallest building in all of CoX (or the floating CoT temple during I14 Beta,) and no matter how much damage your character takes, he/she/it will always be left with 1 hp of health.

Landing in a mob at the bottom is another case.

Well I'm talking about kick mobs off buildings. I makes no sense that they just walk away after a 100 feet fall. Or jump back up and fight you again.

Because it's game, you can do whatever you want. I'm up for fall damage on toons too, but I'm guessing people with complain.

just so you know, personal attacks are not looked kindly around these parts. and if that is all you have to use, then i feel sorry for you. as for your idea, /unsigned. plain and simple.

You do realize that foes also take fall damage, right?

I mean sure, if they fall off of a 4-story building, you'd think they shouldn't survive. But this is a game, things don't work in here like they do in the real world.

Lower level foes take a fair bit of damage from a fall. I remember KB'ing Clockwork off of buildings in KR. They definately took damage, but never completely "died" from it. Of course, being the extra-agressive buggers that they are, they came back for me.

Higher-level foes shouldn't be defeated by the scenery. They should be a tougher fight. I just don't see one of the Joker's goons walking away from falling off of a building. I DO see Juggernaut climbing out of the hole he makes in the pavement and coming back to try again.

Good thing I'm not asking anyone to sign anything. Defensive much?

yeah I know they take damage, I m saying it's weird they take 1/2 their life from a karate kick, then lose 1/20 fall off a building afterwards. It'll be cool if you kick people off a building and the fall actualy deals more damage, since it's hard to actually always achieve something like that.

yeah like anything paost lvl 10 falling damage is basically irrevelent. It's cool to kick longbow from Nerva, but then they just superjump back up

It's cool to kick Longbow anywhere. I hate those guys.

Different characters of mine hate different specific ones.

I could care less about "fatality" deaths. I want player characters to ragdoll when defeated just like NPCs do. Oh yeah!

Dude DC made Mortal Kombat remove their fatalities for MK vs. DCU. Plain and simple: Heroes don't kill. Villains? Maybe but only like once in a career. Praetorains? Only loyalist and only against Resistence.

Beyond the tactless bickering between a few people in this thread, I do believe knocking enemies off of buildings should do more damage. Or at least, having all of the damage be "owned" by the knockbacker. Then there would actually be a strategic reason for kicking enemies off of cliffs, instead of it just being fun. As it is now, what if you accidentally kick an enemy off a tall cliff? That's a chunk of XP that you don't get because the physics damaged the enemy.

And heck I'd even like to see KB do damage if you smash an enemy into a wall, but that would be crazy hard to suddenly put in like that.

The game is PG13. No graphic violence.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect Headsplitter, Beheader, Eviscerate and Disembowel to get animations that match thier names.

Although, IIRC, Bill Z. Bubba might get behind that. I'd have to ask him.

Before GR we could say that we only 'arrested' or subdued the mobs in game. However, specific missions in Praetoria actually force you to kill the boss. No wiggle room, spelled out plain as day, kill this person.

That said, the game is rated T for teen. Don't expect fatality animations anytime soon. Thankfully.

Did everyone suddenly forget about City of Villains?

Not true any more. GR has several missions where people die or you are sent to kill them.

Still, the OP's suggestion isn't a good idea.

Blood-splatter effects get repetitive quickly.

I actually would be 100% behind any Fatality suggestions.

Except the engine isn't designed for it, they don't really fit with this game's overall feel, and they fly swoopingly into the face of a great many characters and indeed much of the genre. And did I mention the engine isn't designed for it? Even engines that ARE, like Age of Conan's, have to sacrifice a bit to get them to work.

So I'm only 99% behind the idea. I am totally an anomaly though, so it ain't gonna happen and frankly I'm okay with that.

How many people die because the Joker lives? Sometimes not killing is a weakness.
Also only Loyalists kill? Have you not heard of The Crusaders a friendly bunch of Resistance members who would murder infants with blenders if they thought it would topple Cole?

I don't think you mean to call what you want fatalities.

There'd have to be blood in this game for their to be "traditional" MK fatalities. Which isn't EVER going to happen in a game that's not rated M and has no wish to be rated M.

Now special effects like super combo finishers from the Marvel VS Capcom series sure! But only if I had the option of turning them OFF.

Also if you don't care if people agree with your suggestion on the forums, why on earth would you ever post it on the forums? It would actually be faster to send it directly to a dev via PM. The suggestions I've made in the past I've actually gotten a response from a dev via PM, and NEVER EVER in a forum post. Just my advice.
