Also only Loyalists kill? Have you not heard of The Crusaders a friendly bunch of Resistance members who would murder infants with blenders if they thought it would topple Cole?
Kill one, save a thousand. The age old arguement. You know we've already seen a world with absolute justice at any cost. Praetoria.

As for the Crusaders....yeah they are some messed up fruit loops. But soon they will go too far and a full scale Resistence civil war will erupt. Holy Statesman! That would make an awesome side story for the Praetorain Invasion update/issue. Hey devs! We just gave you a great way to open Praetoria to Paragon/Rogue Isles!

Actually you did. You posted your suggestion in the open forums to get player feedback which consists of players /signing, /unsigning, and includes their opinions both positive and negative.

If you didn't want to ask people to sign your suggestion you would have sent it via private message to the devs.

Now as to the idea itself, /unsigned for reasons stated by others.

I was about to say.. that's changed with Praetoria. While we may "defeat" or "arrest" villains in Paragon City we KILL people in Praetoria (up to and including some of our allies) As in ... take this remote detonator and run while we hold off the PPD .... several levels and brief battles with PPD later BOOM and even the mission contact has vanished for YOU from the Resistance base. I've kidnapped a PPD officers Wife and Brother and entered a mission where I held the phone up so they could confirm to him they were being held hostage. Text related to me that I then overhear him breaking down and giving up the information the resistance needs and then a shot rings out as he is killed. I am then left with the option, OPTION, to just leave my hostage and flee or set a bomb first ending their lives as well.. By the way I set the bomb last thing my character needed was witnesses that could identify her to the Loyalists.

Its a bit grittier and dirtier on both sides in Praetoria than in Paragon and to be honest I think the change is good. I used to joke with people when we got a defeat the base leader and minons mission. I am playing a AR/DEV Blaster .. I fire fragmentaion grenades at enemies, use the flame thrower to set them on fire and then switch to full auto spraying hordes of them with machine gun fire. When all that ends what's left to arrest? LOL

Short of a complete top to bottom overhaul of the entire game, COH and COV, I doubt we will see that occurring often in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles (FOR NOW).. but I can imagine it coulod easily become part of ANY new content to all three. Don't look for spurting blood or rolling severed heads since they want to maintain their current age rating but there are places now where you can actually kill opponents.

But then you miss the best one at about 50 seconds in. Smash the dude in the nads, then when he is bending over you put one foot on his shoulder and grab his head with both hands and rip his head off.

Although that is on an M rated game and should never happen in this game. But still is pretty cool.

Maybe it was the horrible background music or the preclotted blood sprays (blood is a liquid) that rapidly vanish into thin air.

Confirmed. Screw the rating and gimme some gore.

Be well, people of CoH.

Executioners Shot is pretty brutal, especially if you get the guy in the middle of him getting up.

But yeah I would not speak up against actual blood being in the game, but I would not promote it either.

If they put in blood however, it'd be nice if they could use the same engine to let us get creative with decals in the character editor, or something... But maybe copyright issues would prevent that. I mean my experience with blood in video games has always been blood decal on character, and surrounding geometry if applicable.

Man, I'd totally make one of my toons all super grimdark dirty and evil looking.

As it is now, what if you accidentally kick an enemy off a tall cliff? That's a chunk of XP that you don't get because the physics damaged the enemy.

And heck I'd even like to see KB do damage if you smash an enemy into a wall, but that would be crazy hard to suddenly put in like that.
There is a strategic advantage. For the time it takes the poor soul to hike back up the cliff/fire escape, their damage is 100% mitigated. The chunk of XP you lose is insignificant.

As far as the attacker "owning" that damage, that would be very bad. In another MMO I played, players owned NPC's falling damage, and the Monk class could have 100% resistance to falling damage. Before things got patched up, Monks would aggro 1,000 guys, jump off a cliff, and level up.

For the OP, we don't "kill" 90% of what we defeat in this game. Besides, isn't this game violent enough without gore? I like that I have a game I can recommend to my friends' teenage kids.

Just an observation. I've been playing for 6 years and died plenty of times and yet I've never lost a level or had my exp bar get reduced when I died. Once earned xp is permanent.

The chunk you lose from enemies taking "world" damage, which counts against their experience reward.

ok I;m not really talking about heads falling off and blood everywhere, more liek finishing effects. Like if you kill some guy with fire he catches on fire when he falls over and gets all charred . If you kill some guy with rad his coprse glows. etc. Or SS he flys really far.

For heroes every defeat should have that blue PPD net affect to show they actually got captured.
