"Closest to Completion" is nice but...

I would love if we could have this feature as an optional filter mechanism so that we can exclude categories that we don't want to track. For example day jobs and accolades. Still, it is a great start. :-)

The classic case of "no matter what the Devs give us someone won't like it".

Your idea is not technically a bad one. More control over things like this is always a good thing. I'm just not sure the Devs would ever bother with it. It took years just to get the "closest to completion" tab we got to begin with.

Of course there's another way around your problem - just go out and earn all the badges.

I would like to see the badges that have counters but not displayed like lucent of light etc... to have badge tracking i wonder why some badges arent tracked yet still have tracking

Though making an "Alignment Badge" category might be a good idea.
That sounds like another plausible category. I like it.

On a side note, to add to the thread...

Now, understand that I'm not complaining by any means. This will simply be a suggestion to add to the way the system works:
If you are looking for defeat badges (for example), it would be convenient if you could open the Defeat menu, and have it sorted with complete badges at the top, followed by the rest of them in order of "closest to completion". That would fix the OPs concern, as well as add yet another improvement to the interface.

Yeah the Devs never considered Gladiators to be real badges in the traditional sense. This likely explains why they don't have unique artwork and why they are the only badges you can't click on in the GUI lists to set as your badge title (you actually can use them for badge titles, but the only way you can do that is with the manual /settitle command).

I strongly suspect the only reason they look and act like badges on our characters is because the Devs found it quick-n-easy to "borrow" the badge awarding code used by badges to make earning Gladiators simple to code. IIRC the Devs originally didn't even want people to count them as far as our "total badge count" goes. Despite that the major badge tracking sites basically never followed that guideline and always counted them as real badges regardless of what the Devs' intentions might have been.

I think as time has passed the Devs have relaxed their original stance on the "Gladiators aren't badges" idea a bit. But one of the holdovers of that idea is that they still don't show up with progress bars or in the Closest to Completion lists. It's hard to say if that'll ever change at this point.

I'd just like some way of filtering out the seasonal event badges, like the Halloween ones.

Some of my characters have almost finished some of these and by God, there they sit atop "closest to completion," but I can't do anything about that until the event in question. Halloween itself is close, but surely the day will come when one cannot finish an event on the last night, and who wants to spend a year looking at the "almost completed" badge status taunting us from the top of the list?

I'll be honest here. I want 100% control of my Badge Window...

I want to be able to sort the categories the way I want them, so they appear in the list in my prefered order. Defeat badges first? OK!! Accolades next? Sure thing!!

I want to be able to sort the badges under each category. At the very least, I want to have 3 options for listing them: Default, Earned, Unearned. Default keeps the list the way it is now, Earned places earned badges at the top of the list, Unearned places unearned badges at the top of the list.

I want them to make a decision as to the status of Gladiators. If they're not badges, then they MUST be removed from the Badge window, moved to their own window, and be stripped of /settitle numbers. If they are badges, then they MUST be clickable so we can easily verify/set as a title.

And have progress bars for any "defeat X" requirements.

I always wanted a "show/hide incomplete badges" toggle. The "Closest to completion" tab is interesting though.

closest to completion is a dumb add on. If you care about such n such badge, you look for it. You dont need a status bar of your status bars letting you know whats 'oh soooo close'

Bad job devs, work on important things.....like bases or even i dare say, pvp. Those two things alone are worth more then the time you took to put in this terribad feature.

Trying to find a single defeat badge in a list of almost 100 can be very frustrating. Sure, for years we had to scroll down the list and find it, but it's certainly convenient to have them listed somewhere for easier access. It's not like it's hurting you, so why would it be a "bad move"?... oh yeah.. another PvP-troll.. Hi!

Yeah, we get that. It's not something important to you. I like it. And, just off the top of my head, I think it might have been less work than revamping PvP. You know, just a little bit less..... like by a factor of 100 or so.

Love to see "right click >> ignore this badge progress" or some such so it doesn't clutter my display. While we're at it how about a way to go about sorting the lists alphabetically or whatever?

It's a good innovation and has helped me - however a great QoL feature would be to be able to put the badge tabs in some kind of customisable order.

Because the Powers team took time out of their day job to learn programming and implement this. Good work Castle, you old polymath you!

I don't mind the closest to completion tab, and it's not like it takes all of 2 seconds to change tabs anyway.

But one gripe I do have that I wish they would fix/update/alter, is having some method that highlights what you are missing in multi-requirement badges. For example if I am working on an accolade that requires a few exploration badges, a history badge, some achievements and a story badge, either highlight the ones I have or the ones I am missing. With hundreds of badges out there to get, it can be tiresome to sort them out. Oh, and would it be too hard to alphabetize the badges? :P

I think a search and filter function would go a long way towards what people are asking for here

Search - for Badge requirements ("Fake Nemesis" would point you to Unveiler, or your progress in said badge so far), name (for either side - so searching "Reformed" would still yield "Villain" for villains), or accolade (searching an accolade lists the badges needed to earn it, for accolades and gladiators triggered by earning other badges)
Filter - Filter by category, earned or not earned

Well, in their defense, if you open up the Personal Info window, that badge count includes gladiators, and I'm pretty sure it did in the initial implementation. My brain's skipping a beat, though, and I don't remember if the gladiators count for the "X badges" badges, but I'm guessing not.

To add to that suggestion, we would be able to "Monitor this badge progress" from the badge's actual badge category and location in case we do want to put it back eventually. I like the idea of moving things around or hiding certain badges as well. For example, I not necessarily need to see the "1000 badges" every time, or the characters that have 98% of the Invention badges because I never bothered to finish the Field Crafter on those toons, etc..
