E-mail Rollback

Was there a rollback of the e-mail system? I know I cleared mine out last night but now they are back and friend are reporting that they have lost items.

Think your right James,I did a respec on my corr last went blueside and filled my email w/prples.Today my email is empty with no sign of my stuff.

Checked all my toons,and all bins in my sg and vg no sign of my enh...and filed a petition,hopefully something can be done.

Apparently so. I had 3 crafted Apocalypse in my email, a LotG 7.5, a LotG Defense, and a couple of other random things I'd sent myself after finishing a respec on my main. I've filed a petition and hope to hear something positive very soon.

I too was sent an Apocolypse DMG recipe and I had it last night, and when I logged on today it was gone. I waited until my friend logged on to see if ti was sent back to him and while I waited I checked to make sure I didn;t grab it on the character I needed, but I never claimed it and my friend said he didn;t receive it back from me. So the item was lost.

I sent in a support ticket on this, I hope they can correct this issue.

Yep, I lost a few recipes too including a couple of purples. Guess I'll petition and see what happens.

Unfortunately, I was the benefactor of this rollback. I received a large sum of items/e-mails from a player who is no longer active. I claimed all the e-mails yesterday. Today the items/cash are in my inventory and e-mails back in inbox.

I'll see if the devs do anything about this. If not, the people above me who said they lost stuff will get the appropriate funds. I'm fairly confident what got duplicated for me covers all of the lost items.

i just logged in to find recently crafted enhancements gone. All that work and rare recipies and rare salvage to build.

Dang it.!

So, I lost a total of 8 (by my count) crafted enhancements. There was multi strike, mako, scirrocco's, executioner's contract, and the rest is hard to remember what they were. I will never, NEVER, leave anything in email longer than an hour again.

Not as big a loss as some of you are talking about, but I lost an attached LotG Recharge recipe overnight.

How much confidence should we have that this will be corrected? My fear is that I will be told that they will not replace or restore the items.

If this happens to email, doesn't it stand to reason that it can also happen to base and personal storage?

Actually I haven't touched it since the downtime yesterday, was waiting to see if my missing emails would be restored.

A quick update, the GM escalated my petition to a senior CSR. We'll see what happens, but they're aware of the problem at least.

*edit* Just tried it, I can send emails to my global handle. Looks like the mail system may not be entirely stable...

The mail system relies on the same server that runs Global Chat and Wentworths.

Think about how many times Global Chat channels disconnect almost every night, and about how many times Wentworths lags and seems to be down.

Now really really think to yourself, "Would I trust this overworked, overstressed, glitchy global server with anything that I really really care about?"

If the answer is yes, I have some work for you on the Deepwater Horizon rig...

Nope. You might as well ask, "If my computer died, doesn't it stand to reason that it can also happen to my refrigerator?" Technically, yes, any device can just stop working. But, just because one died, there's no basis to draw conclusions about an unrelated device.

I haven't lost anything from those places in over 5 years of playing. I also leave stuff in the market for long-term storage. Never lost anything there, either.

Please make sure you file a ticket (in game with the /petition <subject> slash command or via the Support Center link in my signature) if you have lost items this way. Our support team are able to investigate losses but give them a little time to process all the tickets, they're doing their best to help everybody in a timely manner.

This is the exact reason why I don't keep anything on mail for longer than a few minutes. It's just to unreliable. It really amazes me how many people keep expensive things stored like that. It's just asking for trouble.

Same here. I only use it to store T3 insps so I can grab what I need for any situation... or EoEs.

It could happen, but they have logs on their end that keep track of all transactions, etc. The more information you give them, the faster they find the appropriate info. It's pretty rare that they can't backtrack and see that you had the items in question at one point.


Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Thats BS too, I gave them everythign, down to the exat time it was sent and which character sent it, the global it came from and the global that received it. Still nothing...

I'm not sure if anyone else has been helped on this or not, but I was pretty much told they can't find the email or the attachment, so I'm pretty much screwed.

I won't ever use the email system again. As my item magically disappeared and is lost for good. I'm out 250 mil on this and I'm not too happy with it. It's not that I lost it at all or don't have the inf to buy another, it pisses me off that support never helps me when I need it.

Its a waste of time to even try to deal with support!
