It's extremely bogus that khelds can't pick patron powers; they aren't epic pool powers and thus don't conflict with the dev mantra that "khelds are epic pools." They should get the same ppp's as SoA.

They can do the arc and get the badge, but they don't get an patron power pool.

If they were able to get PPP powers then the devs would most likely keep it to human form otherwise it'd be a nightmare coming up with new animations for squid and dwarf. Still gloom would be sweet.

Of those things, I have frequently wished for an AoE immob, especially one to negate my knockback, something to use with Grav Well for human single target damage, and those debuffs would be really nice.

While I don't usually do the "devs hate khelds" thing, this is clearly a case where the aliens were just low on the priority list. And as we have a pretty low population, that's actually ok with me as long as they don't pretend it's because khelds are epic pools. Hopefully they'll get to it soon.
It also makes very little sense that khelds can "learn the secrets of their patrons" like everyone else but not be able to use the powers. Oh well, not gonna keep my fingers crossed until after I see a change to secondary mutation.

I agree with Microcosm. Quite frankly, I will continue to believe that the devs don't touch Khels for no other reason but how badly they were slapped together in the first place.
Khels *should* have access to the ancillary power pools and patrol power pools. Khels *should* have access to the flight and teleport power pools. Until they do.... the devs hate kheldians.
EDIT: Yes, I know that Castle did what he could to address some of the Khel concerns awhile back. Having dwarf act as a breakfree was a nice touch. This doesn't change the fact that blocking pools from only kheldians is unfair at best.

Perhaps I should revise my post so that I actually have some reasoning behind my decision.
I would rather see the core powers of the Kheldians revised than the addition of new powers that are meant to replace the lackluster abilities within a Kheldian, specifically the Peacebringer.
After this, maybe add PPP's, but until then it's not where I want the focus.
Cottage Rules, anger from those that like the lackluster powers as is, etc, etc.
Easier (and thus more likely) to add more in so that they don't have to mess with the old.

Otherwise I agree with the whole subject of Khelds needing some attention. My personal feelings are that the shapeshifts should happen faster at the very least. I'd also cut the -def for PBs in half and some -res added in. I'd like to see the inherent reflect half of its bonus back to the team (e.g. the warshade gives blasters a 10% damage bonus and tanks 5% resistance).
I disagree with the locking of power pools; that should have been done away with long ago.
I feel adding APPs/PPPs is something long overdue. From the lore standpoint, the kheldian should retain some powers of the host, and epic pools would be a perfect representation of that. From the mechanical standpoint, it would be a great way to fill the holes kheldians have.
That said, I don't think I'd take any of those powers on my warshade. My PB, however, most likely would.

The cottage rule thing really is a big deal to the devs. They don't seem to be willing to completely change a power, but they may alter its effects. So that limits fixes to the current pools (although they could do some things like turn group energy flight into basically group energy hover, giving a team defense buff and making everyone hover; with the base flight speed increases I don't think many would mind that).
Oh, and if you added -res to pb's, shades should get -tohit

what i think kelds should get in place of the pools is more slots , im shur everyone agrees Kelds are slot starved, so give us more slots instead of more powers , nuff said.

Well from a lore standpoint there is a one off mission redside given out by Shelly Percey where you are temporarily host to a nictus. You get some nictus powers and get to keep all your own.
Also they also get access to "super" powers such as super speed, super jump which aren't inhertinly kheldian.
I would love to see APPs/PPPs for HEATs - not everyone would use them but it may make duel and human forms a bit more interesting (filling in holes) and it may allow people to develop their characters in that they were a super powered being or non-human that was joined by a kheld.
You know i didnt give it much thought up until i saw this thread. I had planned to use Ghost Widows "darkness" powers along with the vet sands of mu for concept reasons on me peacebringer, but i guess thats out now that i read this and think deeper.
So yes i agree, khelds should get access to at least the patron pools. Epic pools would be nice too thou.
Easy option to this would be if Khelds could get access to a new form dependant on the patron
Ghost Widow would give you a stalker form
Scirocco would give you Dominator form
Black Scorpion would give you a Mastermind form
and
Mako would give you a brute form
obviously they would all be alien looking (perhaps the stalker form would look like a praying mantis with blades for arms)
That's an "Easy" option?
Also, after 41, you'd then have a form with (going by current forms) at least four powers. You'd also have the form itself plus those powers to select - and you get all the powers immediately on getting the form. 18 slots, 5 powers (form +associated powers) - that's a little tight, especially since you'd probably want *something* picked at 44, 47, and 49. And if you'd pick a form later, you'd have from six to fifteen fewer slots to distribute.

44 - Light Armor (Passive - Same effects as Bane Spider Armor)
44 - Photon Infusion (Toggle - Same effects as Radiation Infection - lower numbers)

GRAVITY MASTERY (In Warshade colors)
41 - Gravity Distortion
41 - Aim
44 - Gravity Armor (Passive - Same effects as Bane Spider Armor)
44 - Gravity Field (Click - Same effects as Tar Patch - lower numbers)
47 - Gravity Distortion Field
