Who won't be able to buy GR?
A suggestion without trying to be snarky, but unsubscribe for a month or two so you have the money to get GR, then resubscribe. A little time without the game to have all the power sets and a much better gameplay in general.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
And if you buy the box set you are getting a month out of it, so really only need to unsub for one month (depending on where you buy the box from).
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
But no, not in that boat. I bought GR for one account but will buy the box set (Complete Collection or summat?) for the other maybe next month.
For the OP, maybe sign up for the various contests they run for a free copy?

DON'T say it. I know of four people who spend money from their unemployment checks, on their MMO subs and I can almost guarantee there are thousands more (in, oh let's just say, another game).

$15 for a month of CoH
or
$15 to go to the movies with popcorn and soda. Once.
I find the former to be of greater value, and in these times people need and easily accessible, low cost for of entertainment.
Since people seem to think I'm commenting on the financial situation, I'll come right out and say it: I'm not. I'm commenting on the OTHER situation.

But anyways to the OP, I too am in your boat, just for different reasons.
I'm walking into my senior year of College and as of right now with the amount of money it's going to take to buy my books, rent for my apartment, tuition and other necessities, it's going to throw me back quite a bit. Another reason is because I absolutely refuse to play this game during my semester. Did it my sophomore year and well, didn't turn out to great in terms of studies; so why buy something when I know I shouldn't be playing it?
Imo, this is great for me. By time I get back in mid December or so, the hype around Praetoria will have died down quite a bit, and everyone and their baby mamas won't be fighting with KM and EC.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Yeah, fight like that you NEED sets.
I got GR on one account but would like the box on the other. I'm not thrilled with getting it shipped over here though because of the wait and extra cost, so I'll probably go online purchase.
I have no boxed copy at all, so it's a long download if I have to re-install a HD.
Got to admit I keep up the sub when I shouldn't but I don't drink/smoke. Heh my TV doesn't even work (I didn't notice; a friend had to tell me); I watch a few things on BBC iplayer, so to me CoX is good value entertainment.

I won't be buying GR for a while. I suppose I could, but I've got other projects (ingame and in RL) that I want to work on first before sideswitching my existing characters.
When I heard that the first Incarnate slot was being pulled from GR, that's what moved it from "OOoooh! Must Get!" to "Will get...eventually.". This isn't sour grapes, anger or frustration, just a change of priorities and scheduling. Or trying to get a handle on my Altitus.
Fine then.. I'll say it. Get rid of the wife! Look, I used to fight with mine about the 15 bucks a month i would spend on this game. She leaves me (not because of the game) the kids (maybe cuz of the kids) and now I have much more money! And much happier
P.S. yes I still have my kids.
Anyone who would leave their spouse over a video game, really has their priorities jacked up. Big time. That's just disgusting.

I don't plan on buying it until this weekend. I don't expect I will be ready to side switch until then, and can't really create new Praetorians until the store issue is cleared up. Depending on the progress I make on earning Alignment Points I may not buy it for another week after that even.
I do second the previous suggestion to cancel for two months and pay for the upgrade that way, though. It seems like a good way to cover the cost, and you'll be more eager to try it out after being away for a while. Plus, you'll have missed all the crowds rushing in to try it right away.

To the OP:
Do what I do, find a way to make some extra cash not easily traceable (I play in a band) and buy the two month sub cards at gamestop so she doesn't see it come out of the bank account. Out of sight, out of mind, yes?

To the original question, I'll be waiting awhile. It's not so much the money for GR itself, but my only CoX-capable computer (my laptop) just died *again* and I'm unwilling to keep paying to fix it. It's a heat problem so even if I *do* fix it, I won't be playing CoX on it anyway. (The latest fix only lasted a month)
Since my finances currently preclude me from putting a new system together, I'll be on the sidelines for awhile. :*(
At this point I won´t be able to buy it, not because of monetary reasons but because they won´t sell it to me... The have an agreement with a crappy company that don´t give a damn to what they´re offering (last update on their site was Cyborg Pack). So, until I find a way to import a box from somewhere (I want the Complete one) I´m stuck at Primal Earth... CURSE YOU LEVEL UP!!!!

the economy stinks, i just got the lay off myself (defense spending is down, who knew people would get tired of shooting each other?) but i have a good bit of savings and paid way ahead, i feel bad for those whos situation is worse, something really does have to give out there.
Wow, there's a lot of responses to this.
I'd like to thank those that were supportive on the issue and coming up with good ideas to help me out.
As far as the others are concerned, I'm not going to leave my wife because we fight over me spending money on this game. If she wants to leave me because of it that's on her.
It's a small comfort to know I'm not going to be the only one that can't play in praetoria for a while.
I guess I'll have to be happy, which I am very much so, with playing with my fire/ss tank that is a beast now that burn's been fixed!
I wasn't going to be getting it for a few months until I heard about the sale at Best buy.
I picked up the collectors edition for $29.99, rang up to $32 after taxes and when you subtract $15 thanks to the free month included means I got GR for only $17!!
$17.00!
So if your really really wanting to play, I'd say your best bet is to drop your sub for a single month. You'll be protecting Praetoria before you know it!

This is not a troll thread and I'm not trying to stir up anything I'm genuinely curious who won't be able to get the new expansion.
I am unable to buy the new expansion, economic reasons. I wish I was able to buy GR but I have to fight with my wife to even spend the $ to keep up my subscription.
I was a little sad when I found out the new power sets were only available to those who buy GR. I was really looking forward to playing elec control till I read that.
I figure the devs will eventually do to GR what they did to COV and make it included if you buy the others. That's going to be a long wait for me unless things pick up around here, chances are I'm going to be jealous of every toon I see with the new power sets cuz this city I'm in is dying off. I've done ok with all the pistol people and demon MM's running around by telling myself I'll get a chance at those when I18 hits. Looks like I have a long wait ahead of me before that happens.
Is anyone else stuck in my boat?
