  1. Kinda like batman, Flash, Captain America, etc... I want my eyes visible and below my nose exposed as well. I can't seem to find it in standard, full or half a mask. I KNOW I'm just missing it, can anyone give me the combination?
  2. MT_Head

    Sands of Mu

Here's another dumb question from me... I CHOSE Sands on my main toon, but somehow, I ended up with the Axe. Can I reverse that somehow?
  3. Hey guys! Any and all suggestions are welcome, I am not a numbers guy, I THINK I did ok but if you guys see wasted slots, dumb decisions, etc, let me know so I can correct. This is the build I am currently running, based on ideas I've seen floating around the forum in this wonderful community (please ignore the level selection for powers and slots, this was just done as quickly as possibly to get your guys input):

The Hard Cap is the maximum number that the game allows you to reach in any given stat. The defense Hard Cap is somewhere along the lines of 200%, and there's usually not much point in getting such a high defense number

For more information about the defense softcap, I recomend reading Dechs Kaison's guide to defense
Do you have a link, sir?

They don't, won't, and shouldn't. They balance around what players *use*. The devs datamine player performance in the game, and balance around the averages. Those averages do include what the average players slots with, and undoubtedly includes some level of invention enhancements. I guarantee you the average SR player is not running around with 45% defense.

    As to:

Oh, I'm very sure the average player doesn't fully understand how defense works, much less what softcapping involves or how it works. Right now I think the 45% number is being
thrown around much like the 2:1 rule was in the past, with equally deleterious
    consequences.

I still get questions from people who think the +56% in their slotting means they have 56% defense.
I am one of those people that feels like he is in a foreign country when you guys start talking about soft caps and throwing numbers around. I WANT to understand... Can anyone explain it to me?

With only 67% I would still put the Recharge IO in.
What is this recharge bonus you speak of, sir (asked the dummy)? Is it something all SR sets have?

For 95% of the game only 14% of elude's defense will be beneficial and you'll have to deal with the end crash. While it's up, though, you'll also get very nice recovery and run speed boosts.

If, however, you take weave and combat jumping and stick the Steadfast +3% to all defense IO in tough, get a bit more from other SetIO bonuses and are sitting at 45% defense to all without elude, there is no reason to take elude.

    In PvE.

Especially since you can get massive recovery and run speed boosts from other SetIO bonuses.

In PvP, however, it's not a bad idea to go with a max recharge build which includes elude because of all the tohit buffs flying around in there.

I haven't had elude in my build for a very long time. And I do ok in PvP.
Bill, would combat jumping be needed? I only ask because I REALLY don't want another toggle running with the SR set and tough, ya know?
  11. Do they vary with each power? How do I achieve them? Do I WANT to achieve them? Sorry for the n00b question, I appreciate anyone responding.
  12. So you're dumping Elude? While I dislike the end drop at the end greatly, I am untouchable while its up and running. I probably missed something, but what made you do that (real question, totally not being sarcastic, I don't "get" a lot of this kind of stuff.

You can free up 1 or 2 slots from Practiced Brawler.

If you soft cap Elude becomes a very nice +recovery and run speed buff ... i.e. you really don't need it if soft capped, you are essentially running at Elude level defenses 24-7 at that point.

Quickness is probably overslotted on most builds when slotted beyond the base slot.

Conserve Power - I'd be trying to eliminate the need for the power outside of an infrequent "oh crud" button. 4 slots is definitely overkill, a 4th recharge would gain virtually nothing in terms of down time. Shoot for 1, maybe 2 tops here. Conserve Powers base recharge is too long to make its use anything other than as an "oh crud" button.

I have very little MA experience (and a ton of /SR) and none at all since i18 changes to MA
but I'd guess you have several attack powers beyond what you "need" that will fall into the
"for fun and concept" category. The number of attacks is getting in the way of the goal of soft-capping when I start making changes.

And what is the attack chain of choice now for MA?
I just threw in crippling axe kick and cobra strike because everyone was saying how great they were now. Anything u wish to change please do so. Also, dumb question, but I really don't know... What is soft cap and hard cap, exactly?
  14. Ok, sorry for the delayed response. I did this quickly, and in it I took crippling axe kick and cobra strike, though I dont have them now and I am not sure I WANT to take them.

I didn't slot anything, because I don't know which uncommon IOs you guys would suggest I take, since I don't know a lot about it. So pretty much ignore my slotting and WHEN I take the powers, as I am level 48 now so I picked for speed and not actually what I would do on a certain level. If I was a level 12 I probably would have spent more time planning.

  15. Wow, where can I read about these changes? Cobra strike is worth it now? There were 2-3 powers I never bothered to pick up after my first Owl Man respec years ago. The first one, cobra strike and the single taunt.

Ok, thanks, so do you think I should 6 slot tough and weave? I'm not really a "numbers guy". Maybe I should be...
  17. Just wondering. I have boxing, tough and weave. I was thinking of getting rid of weave, as I would like to have at least another of the body mastery pool (ideally I would want them all except eye beams, only because it doesn't go with my concept). So... am I dumb for wanting to bail on weave, and possibly the whole pool?
  18. I like the concept of my TA/A defender but I find him lackluster to play. he is level 15 now and just not getting anymore fun. I am fairly certain I am overlooking something obvious, so maybe someone has some decent tips for me to try?

Do what I do, find a way to make some extra cash not easily traceable (I play in a band) and buy the two month sub cards at gamestop so she doesn't see it come out of the bank account. Out of sight, out of mind, yes?
  20. Please let us know if anyone gets Gamestop to give the wallpapers. It's the principal of the thing for me, really. I preordered 3 copies, from Gamestop (one for me, my son and my best friend) and I could have taken my money elsewhere.

  22. Hello guys! My main toon is an MR/SR who is closing in on 46 (I am super pumped btw!) and having recently returned to the game, I am confused on what IOs I should be using. The Common IOs seem pretty self explanatory, like training enhancments, only better, right? However, I have no idea what UNCOMMON IOs I should be looking for to use on my toon.

What damage/ACC/END etc shoudl I be slotting? How about the defense set? Do we get "set bonuses" (I learned about that term on the wiki, go me!). I DID check out the wiki, but probably because I am so clueless, I didn't really even understand what I was looking at... so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Whoop-de-freakin'-doo. I did do the new mission content already on other characters. So having to do it again on a character I shouldn't need to is rediculous.

Especially when I have older characters that have auras and no cape. That's right, before the new content, you didn't have to complete the cape mission to get to the auras... you only had to be eligible (level requirement). So why is it that now after this new content is in place, the aura mission is dependant also on completing the cape mission first?
