Supergirl TV show?

Interesting. I'd prefer a Legion spin-off personally. Or perhaps a WWII-era JSA prequel spin-off.

Final Straw, DM/Regen Scrapper
Solari, Fire/Fire Blaster
Real Americana, MA/SR Scrapper
Task Force Timmy, Grav/Rad Controller
Astral Paragon, Spines/Regen Scrapper
Mr Drama King, Katana/Regen Scrapper
Psi-Stunner, Psi/Mental Blaster

Well it's not like it'd be the first attempt... Smallville already has it's own set of series'

Smallville Season 1 = year -9
Smallville Season 10 = year 0
Birds of Prey Season 1 = year 9ish

Supergirl would be good, as she would have the :name brand" factor to keep the series alive. IMO it's one of the reason SV has survived even when it's put out a couple of poor seasons in a row. Not sure Blue Beetle would have the kind of recognition needed to pull in the numbers to pay for an effects heavy show.

I would prefer a Legion series or a JSA series.

I'd be all for a Supergirl show. Just don't let it be a Smallville spin off, or run by the same network/makers... even though I have seen every episode of Smallville >.>

I say get a character that can keep it in budget. I don't want to see a Superman show where it's all drama and barely any powers. I saw they should a Doctor Mid-Nite show, so you can have the "drama" filled in with medical stuff that's all the rage these days and have cool fight scenes that don't feel shoehorned or stupid. Plus, occasional team ups with JSA members.

Did anyone actually read the article? It's not about a Supergirl spinoff show. It says the most likely candidate for a "Smallville" spinoff is The Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes version) following his appearance, with Booster Gold, in a future episode.

They're going to make a spin-off about super-powered Lana. Oh noes!111!!

Rumor is they are courting Taylor Swift to play her on the big screen...

I'd love to see a Legion or JSA spin-off but the reality is that, like Smallville, they won't have the budget to do lots of special effects so you'd wind up with a lot of lame stuff like the Doomsday fight. Based on the heroes we've seen on the show so far I think the spinoff that could be done the best would be a Sandman Mystery Theatre series but I'm sure instead we'll get stuck with some show about emo teen angst.

Yup, the current plan for a spinoff is Blue Beetle (which may or may not include Ted Kord in a mentor role).

Laura Vandervort is currently on V, so unless The CW thinks that is going to be cancelled this season (which it may), any spinoff will be at least two years in the future. Which wouldn't exactly be riding on the heels of Smallville then.

That would be affordable at least. As would a Nightwing or solo Robin show.

Yeah, agreed.

I like what one someone posted in their comments section, a series based on young Bruce Wayne. Where we see is progression through adolescence or late teens as he travels throughout the world, learning about crime and honing his skills in both mental and physical skills.

If written properly, such a series could show how much Bruce is haunted by the death of his family, and the progression of that moment, over several years, to how it is used to mold his view of society and his own personal agenda for justice.

No. If they made Clark this emo just think what they would do to Bruce.

No biggy, Bruce is already the epitomy of emo, wouldn't feel right if he wasn't.

Durakken, not that I think you are wrong, but can you link the source saying that Birds of Prey are linked to Smallville? I thought they had different producers.

They won't do a "Gotham" show for Bruce Wayne. They wanted to do it a few years ago, but WB nixed that idea, thinking it is better to keep Batman to the big screen.

Although the series was never openly stated to be connected to the TV series Smallville, it was assumed that Birds of Prey was a spin-off or at least connected in some way, through a passing mention of a meteor rock giving humans metahuman powers and abilities, which was a common villain device in the Smallville series. However the Black Canary in Smallville is younger and quite different than the Black Canary that appeared in the series, as portrayed by Lori Loughlin, who is older and has a daughter.
If you accept that it is in the same universe and assume that they are following something close to the timeline of the DCU then the years i mentioned are what they'd have to be. It would also mean that the Black Canary from Smallville and Birds of Prey are the same and it would be interesting to see that evolution.

Thanks Durakken. That's makes sense.

Black Canary on Birds of Prey was named Carolyn Lance, the one on Smallville is named Dinah Lance. Dinah Lance (Carolyn's daughter) on Birds of Prey didn't have Black Canary's powers but was instead a telekinetic. That section of the Wiki article is without any collaborating references, therefore has to be taken with a grain of salt.

They should do a Nightwing spinoff! Clark is a bit older, Nightwing has left Batman forBludhaven. Then they can have cameos from some special effects heavy characters, but still keep it pretty low budget for a lot of the shows.

I wish they had greenlit the Aquaman series. I thoroughly enjoyed the pilot.
