Power Rangers Rebought by Saban

Live action programming on cartoon networks is always a dumb idea. When I tune into a station called NickTOONS or CARTOON NETWORK, I expect to see some damn animation.

  Kinda reminds me of the older series of Power Rangers/Super Sentai. Also, at least in Super Sentai, these heroes are angels. However, I doubt it'll be like that in Power Rangers, seeing as how mentioning something even remotely related to Christian believes isn't politically correct anymore. Now, the only thing I want know is for Saban to bring Kamen Rider to America and NOT mess it up like Kamen Rider Dragon Knight messed up Kamen Rider Ryuki. |

i preferred the shinkenger costumes meself, and i *loved* the villains in Shinkenger. it is my humble opinion that Chimatsuri Doukoku would be the pinnacle of cosplay, if someone had an out of control budget to use on molding plastics.

Indeed. The villains from Shinkenger are just about as awesome looking as the Fangire from Kamen Rider Kiva.
I don't understand how anyone can actually watch these things? It is the most horrible acting combined with the most awful special effects in the known universe. Is that the draw to shows like this, that they are so bad that they are considered good? I have never understood this...

Power Rangers has horrible acting? I guess you must have forgotten about the original Street Fighter live action movie, or the Super Mario Brothers movie.

I read a lot of threads, -=shrug=-, it's what I do.
I mean no disrespect, and everyone is of course welcome to like whatever they want, I am just genuinely curious why this show has any kind of a following?
I remember watching shows similar to this when I was 10 (28 years ago), and thinking it was basically better than going outside.

I watch Power Rangers for the laughibly bad over-acting. Then again, the Evil Dead movies are some of my favorites, so I may be biased towards camp.
Anyways. I am hoping that if they get a bigger budget, they can get some decent writers and then decent actors, and perhaps a bit more mature might be cool.

Anyway, even if they get a bigger budget, they'll still be limited to what Japan Produces for their fighting scenes. What SHOULD be done is America making it's own, original, tokusatsu program but I don't see that happening after the failure of Mystic Knights.

Well my first exposure to this genre was the, ancient now, parody dub of Dynamen on USA's Night Flight in the early 80s.
The Americanization of the original episodes do leave a lot to be desired but I've seen the Japanese movies for several of the teams and team ups that were made into the Power Rangers franchise and they were quite enjoyable but very different than what we get here. Basically only the "Zoid"/Kaiju/Giant Robot battles are intact from the original series.
And what do you expect, it's a children's show targeting boys under 10, Shakespeare? It's about action, robots, heroic posing, monster of the week and explosions.

booted/fired/walked off, and Tommy became leader. I just wasn't too thrilled.
Austin St John just exuded. G1 Ken or even Speed Racer.

A power rangers season done with the same simple yet sophisticated storytelling as the 90's batman would be friggin sweet.
And half the reason the acting was so bad early on was because the actors were martial artists. Except Bulk and Skull who are just awesome (seriously, go watch their con panels on youtube. Jason Narvy runs off on a tangent about Shakespeare between talking about how he got his job by being a jerk, and Paul Schrier talks about having to take a break from working on hello kitty to work on the Forever Red episode)

Let's go over Tommy's colors:
Green Dragon Ranger
White Tiger Ranger
Red Zeo Ranger
Red Turbo Ranger
Black Dinothunder Ranger (and the rest of the team's mentor)
Conclusion: Tommy has seen more colors than the Trix rabit has in his lifetime.
My hopes now that Saban is back:
Some of the original cast getting roles in the new series.

Austin St John aka First Red ranger was never working in the adult entertainment business.
I saw the pics of the look alike guy and for me they are only sightly similar.
So, theres going to be a new Power Rangers series produced by Saban again?
