New Archetype Ideas:Tanktroller or Mobster

I think these two archetype will be the best! They will kick butt. Controller everyone and take little damage It would be like a Controller no but more defense and no heals.

Primary: Defense
Secondary: Control

High Hit Points
Medium Damage

You will be almost unstoppable! It would be so cool. We still will have powers that go togather...

fire/fire
ice/ice
earth/earth
electric/electric

Here the other powers you have.

Gravity Control/Invulnerability
Illusion Control/Dark Armor
Mind Control/Willpower
Plant Control/Shield Defense

Tanktroller may be a bad name heheh, what do you think?

Or we can do a Mobster...

Primary: Range
Secondary: Summon

It would be awesome! Do high damage and have 6 buddies (not including Gang War) It would be so cool!

Mercenaries/Assault Rifle
Necromancy/Psychic Blast
Ninjas/Archery
Robotics/Energy Blast
Thugs/Dual Pistols
Demon Summoning/Fire Blast
Electrical Blast
Ice Blast
Radiation Blast
Sonic Attack

I think we need pets power sets.... But I think this would be a fun person to play!!!

Tankmage not good idea.

Balance would be an issue. And really, if you're controlling the mobs, why do you need defense? Also, if this were implemented, hit points would probably be med to low, and
damage probably low.

We already have with with Masterminds. The difference is it summon, buff/debuff. Because the summon comes with ranged attacks.

Awesome is biased. What you think is awesome, others will think is lame. And the devs will only add something if it can be balanced, and is something the game actually needs.

Same old Powers... even after a decently long hiatus from posting. That is really all I have to say about it.

... Play your lvl 40 crab more? decent range/melee attacks (with possible "All AoE all the time" attack chain). Has good resist/defense/self-heal, and up to 6 (slow recharge, non-controlable) pets.

I think I have my spiderlings on a no (or negligible) downtime, and the other 2 powers around a minute or two.

Nope, which is why I'm not suggesting new ATs. I think we're pretty well covered, though if the devs do come out with more I'll be more than happy to try them out.

Power, let me see if I can put this plainly for you:

The Tanktroller would be very limited in application. This is mostly due to the fact that it would only be able to solo very, very slowly. Sure, a Fire Armor/Fire Control Tanktroller would level at a decent speed, maybe. However, a WP/Ice Controll Tanktroller would likely never get anywhere. You'd have a medium -> very low solo speed character, unable to offer much against AVs or GMs, and with the low-damage control sets, it wouldn't even hold aggro well. As such, this would not be an awesome combo, and would very much be gimped from inception. Even giving them a high base damage modifier would do little for the sets that have few damaging powers.



For your second idea, it might work, but your secondary sets would need to powers to make up for the ranged attacks that the summon sets get. What would you propose for those?

It's definitely an interesting idea but I think balance would be an issue. Let's assume for the sake of an argument that the blasts are replaced by buff/debuff powers from an appropriate set (i.e. Mercs get Traps/Devices, Ninjas get Trick Arrow, Zombies get Dark Maisma, Bots get Force Field, Demons get Thermal, Thugs get ummm something).

Now the blasts are a more prominent part of the character so it would need to have a higher damage mod (say 0.85, more than corruptors but less than blasters). Would that be balanced or would it be necessary to reduce the power of the pets. If the pets are weakened to balance it would they still be useful espeially given that it would have fewer support powers?

These two ideas are just unbalanced.

IMO, I think a Leader archtype would be more appropriate.

Primary: Assault
Secondary: Defence or Summon (Most likely Defence)

Obviously Medium damage and Medium Hitpoints.

And you don't need me to tell you what the combinations are. Use your imagination.
