Native American Booster and Tattoos

I believe this would be a great addition to the game. So many people have native american and/or african based characters.

Costume pieces could include tribal knives (chest detail, belt); fur, pelts, skin (chest detail, shoulders, belt, bottoms and tops); various robes, tattered skirt, tribal boots (moccasins), feather headpieces, tribal jewelry.

A costume emote could be a variation of the drumdance, with smoky tendrils included.

I also wouldn't mind seeing more tattoo options, for the females mostly. Especially full length sleeve options as male toons have, or the ability to apply patterns to skin. The main I'm known for, Unhearted, is a tattoo artist who ICly has full length sleeves and back work but we only get tattoos as a 'gloves' option, where it should possibly be under 'tops with skin'.

A solid suggestion. My only change would be to rename it the Tribal Booster since that would be more generic and allow for more varied options.

Very good point.

Now here's the question. Are we talking all-in-good-fun comic book NA stuff here, or the newage stuff that would make me want to punch my monitor?

However! This is a neat idea. Half of my characters would benefit from a "Tribal" themed booster, and I would love to see feathers, bead caps, braids (it would be freaking awesome if they could use the cape technology for it, so the braids could be all floppy), and dreadlocks that don't look horrible, not to mention some more tribal shield options, one-arm tattoos (some tribes put tattoos on the person's dominant arm, to prevent "counterfeiting"), scarring, some longer dresses, and freaking antler headwear.

You know what else I want to see? Those wacky diaphanous robes that the oracles have in Cimerora, done up as loincloth parts, both long and short.

Edit: Macuahitl as a sword option, dammit.

EH.

I MEAN WHATEVER.

Yeah, can't say no to some more costume parts. I could picture stuff like this having a lot of use.

Wild Streak - Lv. 50(+3) Beast Mastery/Sonic Resonance Mastermind, Amnesty - Lv. 50 Staff Fighting/Dark Armor Stalker

I dunno... I was pretty offended by the Cyborg pack.

I don't think anyone would take offense. By your logic, there are a number of things to be offended by in the game.

Perhaps given the 'needed' costume pieces, more people would attempt a tribal or native american character.

Yesss, braided hair would be lovely. Also, I'm thinking classic NA/Tribal options. Feather pieces or fur pieces would not even need to be limited to players in search of creating such a character! Avian-based or other animals could make use of it.

For mostly this reason, I would support this. I have three female characters who have tattoos that can't be represented in game. Every time I see the mystic in the Spelunker mission, I grind my teeth in frustration. So yes to this.

However, I do agree that it would have to be done carefully and made quite generic to prevent it from being cliche and potentially offensive to anyone.

Isn't that an everyday occurrence anyway? On a good day, and arguably through no fault of their own, the Paragon Studios staff can expect to blamed for offending, irritating or generally pissing off a handful of people just by doing nothing.

Works for me. Though I'd agree it should probably be called a "tribal" pack - not out of "let's not offend group X," but because the descriptions sound generically "tribal" or even "lost world"-ish.

I wouldn't hold out hope for the longer robes, though - the rest sounds very doable.

The moment you start to draw the line of what is offensive, then everybody will draw the line, to the point where you can't do anything any more because everybody has deemed everything offensive.

Screw those guys.

I would certainly like it (mourned the lack here about a year ago when I was going to create a tomahawk tank), but it's iiiiiiiiiiiiffy territory in a country where there has been uproar over having sports teams simply named native tribes. I mean, sure, I understand being upset by the Redskins, but just the names of the tribes? It's a touchy U.S. out there some times.

That said, if they did decide to go for it, they'd have my money.

Due to possible outcry, it might be better to simply roll the set into a regular issue. However, considering we already have a "Fringe" cape that looks like it fits a generic Native American texture sensibility, there could be a full Fringe set that could fit this need yet be broad enough to multipurpose.

I've been wanting a one of these:

For years!! I think it's foolish to imagine that simply adding something like this would offend Native Americans. Having it in the game wouldn't be offensive. What's done with it by the players might be, but thats what GM's are for.

Honestly, if you wanna be that PC about everything you might as well say that the Family are offensive to Italians because they wear Armani suits.
Sorcerors and the Tsoo in general are offensive to Asians etc etc...

If they're upset by something being named "Seminoles", I don't see how foolish it is to imagine. Plus, IIRC, those headresses were only worn by plains tribes, mostly the Lakota, so there's the non-representative thing.

Oh, it's rarely about what's actually offensive. It's about what oversensitive activist groups decide to get offended by.

I'm sure if this game were more high profile, the Italian Anti-Defamation League would probably have something to say. They have a history of such.

EDIT: Looking it up, I guess they're the Italian-American Civil Rights League these days.

Oh, yeah, the whole Tong thing is a hot button issue there.

The point is never if the offense is justified, it's about whether it's worth it to put up with it. That's the devs'/legal's decision. Like I said, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'm just also fully aware of the possible roadblock there.

love the idea I would love to see long silky hair that native American women, and men have, also like I said before Dreadlocks that looks like REAL Dreads ha ha ha lol. Hope they don't screw the native American look up.

I'd love to see a something like this make it into the game. I've been wanting a tomahawk put in for my axe tanker forever, I believe the graphic skin is already in the game, I think I've seen it in Mr. Yin's store in Faultline.

Here's my Axe/FA tanker Cherokee Sun, rough leather boots and gloves, fringe cape and earthy (brown/red) colors for his super suit/tights:

Bah, pictures a little dark but you get the idea...

Silky? HA. It's thick as hell, and knots ridiculously easy unless you treat the hell out of it. Braiding just manages it and covers up the horrible knots.

I'm all for a Native American booster, just as long as they leave those accursed Choctaw out of this. *shakes fist*

I don't even know why she hated them, but they seriously filled her with a rage and fury... I was thinking it might have something to do with those Poarch Band guys.
