  1. That would be pretty awesome. For anybody. I have an alt named "Princess of Trash," would go great with them.

Would also like a Nature Affinity "look" that resembles, oh, I don't know, the Devouring Earth stuff from the UG trial?

I say make them available to everyone. I don't mind if the exclusive thing is one of those costume toggle vanity deals, or a vanity pet that does nothing.

This is a costume piece. Costume pieces should be available to everyone, somehow. Not a lucky batch. It's terrible PR.

Do they even exist lore-wise?
The answer to this is kind of weird. We know Coyote is hangin' in First Ward, for example, but CoH lore defines a "god" very specifically: a psychic parasite that requires worship to sustain itself, grown from an animistic spirit that has taken on more responsibilities and archetypes due to human intervention. It's a fair bet that most "gods" in mythology are just Incarnates, beings fueled by the potential of their own species, rather than what defines a "god" in the CoH universe. So, the real thing that has to be sorted out before this can really be answered is... is Glooscapi a god, or is he just like the Greek gods, a really awesome dude fueled by his own endless win that we would start calling a god, even though he technically isn't?

    No.

    Bio Armor!

    Make it happen, devs.
  8. This one is linked because spoilers, but my Dark/Dark/Soul troller "Hex Machine"...

    D'awwww
  9. I've got a bunch that I had a weird fear that I might not get...

    Raygun Goth
    Hex Machine
Osteoderm (Now I'm sitting on it in anticipation of bio-armor)
Frybread (I just need to figure out what powersets to use)
Strataseed (This is my plant/earth dom that I made when Praetoria first came out. It's still only level 20 and stuck there because it was supposed to be a Devouring Earth spy and now I'm afraid to play it)
Umbragenesis (Current incarnation is a dark/dark dom)
Ultimate Sorcerer (I fully expected this to be gone)
    Sound of Tindalos
    Carmot
    Rezdog
    Zone of Isolation
    Zeerust (For retro sci-fi!)
    Great Attractor (grav/time, HA)
    Drop-Forged Justice
    Princess of Trash

This version does that, and does it well. Remember, Malta Sappers can be a death sentence to even a L50 character if not dealt with quickly and effectively - If you can come up with a better way to represent that than a truly evil Drain effect, be my guest. Bear in mind, it has to be capable of preventing any and all of the character's powers working for a short period of time. I agree that the stats are too high, and the skills are overboard. This was a "first pass" version to nail the powers down and my general process sets the skills and stats higher than they need to be, then works them down.
Ah, cool. Sappers are only dangerous because of the things around them, not themselves. My players have a tendency to overcompensate, so I learned to watch out for it (a good example - I have one player who made a contagious, continuous, AoE Confuse and didn't realize this meant that, should he have used it on one enemy, he could infect the whole city with what amounts to incurable insanity; the same guy sometimes forgets that instead of buying a power that he only intends to use once in a while, it's better to just buy luck and Extra Effort into the power rather than buying it). Hero points should be coming fast and furious in villain fights, at least one every couple of rounds.

Just a basic Nullify and a linked Fatigue (limited to 1 step only) would seriously do the trick, or Drain (Powers) (this is what I like about M&M, there's usually like ten ways to do something). With Slow Fade, it could keep them down for a brief period, but heroes need to be able to extra effort out of it (which mimics inspirations), and Fatigue is so damn easy to get out of my players usually don't even notice it. That Drain (all traits) power, as it stands, slaps a -10 to everything. Skills, saving throws, ability scores, powers, and feats. It turns off feats. If a hero has a 10 Con, failing that save kills them instantly.

And as for Ancestor Spirits, they were thrown in to the block to just have them there, without deep reference to their full powers and abilities - I was paying far more attention to the other Tsoo when writing them up for the adventure I was running, since those were the ones that would end up engaged in combat.
They look awesome for just being thrown together the way you describe. I couldn't do it, certainly not quickly. I have this tendency to spend a week or more drumming up NPCs the characters might try to punch, and even then I end up gettin' 'em wrong anyway (...or picking the wrong NPCs to stat. My players are always so much more likely to bargain than punch than I figure they are. I have to force them into combats.).

Re: My main - he was originally for a PnP game, anyway, and some of his capabilities cannot be represented in CoH. Yes, L50 characters can be represented by PL10-12, and I'm not disputing that. He was originally written up in DC Heroes, then used in CoH - the version above is closer to his original conception than a straight port to M&M from CoH would allow.
Man, I wish CoH could do some of the things tabletops can accomplish. Sounds awesome, actually! I do really like it, and I really love it! That's why I nitpick...

If you're looking for pick-up-and-play, Mutants & Masterminds (2 or 3E) can't be beaten. For accurate power representation, Hero system offers incredible flexibility. I've run both, and M&M is the one people are more likely to be familiar with.

And now for a few links:

My main character statted up in M&M

    Some M&M stats for Clockwork

A rough version of a Blood Brother Hellion

A rough version of a Malta Sapper

    Statblocks for various Tsoo

    An unfinished attempt at Statesman

    I could keep going...

[Edit before I post up way too many of these things] Yes, I have been working on converting CoH NPCs/Enemies into M&M2E. I have a consistent and moderately reasonable method of determining a target PL for each of them, and use Paragonwiki and the old Prima Guide to work out powers and abilities.

    Yell if you want more.
I think you're overcompensating a little bit. Level 50 characters can easily be built at PL 10-12. Malta Sappers should probably just have a ranged Fatigue (and maybe add a low-ranked linked effect like Nullify to force power checks against Sustained powers), not Drain (All Traits) in their guns ("All Traits" means they suck all ability scores, skills, and saving throws, too). The ability scores are a bit high, as well. Skill modifiers are ridiculous. They're supposed to be highly trained but otherwise normal people with equipment to help compensate. This one sapper is basically a death sentence for even powerful heroes.

...also why do Ancestor Spirits not have Protection out the yin-yang?

We use the 3d6 variant from the Mastermind's Manual.

Also, HeroLab lets brand new players make a character in ten minutes tops.

Also, Steve Kenson really does know his way around the d20 system, which is good, since its original designers don't even know how their own skill DC system works.

Heck, I am using it right now to run a game in which the PCs (a heavy metal wizard with a holy guitar, an office worker and his pet goldfish, and a car-stealing vampire) are traveling across a American-folklore-inspired post-apocalyptic landscape in a 1953 Chevy bel air with a sentient iPod dock battling the evil forces of The Man.
  14. Mutants & Masterminds 2e, totes. For lower level stuff, PL 5-6. For endgame stuff? You could swing everything a character can do into PL 10 pretty easy. Especially if you drop something like Side Effect 2 (Fatigue) on your arrays. Sustained effects even act like toggles!

We play a lot of M&M 2e. Usually use it to play concepts I can't make in CoH, because the system is so open and can model just about anything.

To prevent tearing while riding a horse. Modern materials are much more stretchy, and we don't need the flares anymore.
  16. As I understand it, pieces attach to the rig symmetrically. It's just the way the skeletons were built back in the day. In order to do asymmetric costume pieces, they have to either A) make them their own costume bit (like the Gladiator shoulders), requiring each asymmetric costume piece to be made individually (with one thing on one side and another on the other side, with what those pieces are locked in place) or B) rebuild the rig and all the costume pieces from the ground-up. At this point, option B is a little limited. The robotic arm rig is a cheat is an example of option A, which is why there's so few things you can do with it.

That's not rules abuse, that's a power in use!

I'm currently running a tabletop game where people have powers like the ability to turn forward momentum into muscle fatigue, the power to create alcohol anywhere, and the ability to amplify pressure on keystones, all of which are played off to have immediate, deadly combat applications.

...and that's not counting the bizarre and rules-lawyery power uses in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
