So how are some Brutes getting 500k-550k per minute?

I thought I was living life good. I can reliably depend on netting over 300k per minute on Liberate TV on my SS/Fire, while getting a decent number of purples and oranges in the process as well.

Then I see people flexing their hero stats showing very impressive numbers well over 500k per minute. That's a big difference. I also notice some of these farmers claim they are SS/Elec. Really? I thought Fire was where the fast killin be at, and then Shield next.

The highest I can ever reliably get my SS/Fire up to, is almost 400k/min and that's if I run 53s with no bosses, or 52s with bosses. And that is with me very purpled out, using inspiration binds, and sadly dying from time to time and popping back with Rise of the Phoenix.

So yeah, I do pretty well, but how can I do better like these guys? IE: Even if that means using a different toon, guessing a Brute still but yea... :-O

Edit: Or a different map?

Weird, I posted an image from Don't Say a Word, where the tag phrase from the movie was "I'll never tell" and it gets deleted. Interesting.

1) Find a enemy group that suits your defense/resistance type
2) Set map for +2/8
3) ???
4) Profit
-----------

Personally, my brute (3 of them I rotate in and out of diff maps) can each pull in 3M per hour. That may or may not be on the "Lower high level" side, but 3M an hour is still a pretty penny. 500K is childs play. Cater to your strengths.

Try a different map. Family had their rewards adjusted a while ago because they are super easy. If you are taking any extra time to defeat Nemesis with stacked Vengence, that can add up as well.

He was talking about 500k per minute, or 30M per hour.

SS/Elec/Mu is probably the build they're referring to. Ball Lightning and Electric Fences add quite a bit of AoE to an already powerful AoE build.

There goes Lyger, making us look bad... again. :P

The reason SS/Elec can do more than SS/Fire is because of recharge and more unsuppressed movement. The less downtime between mobs, the more you are killing and the more your AoEs are up, the more you are killing.

While on paper, Fiery Embrace may look pretty good, the +damage gets washed out by Fury+stacked Rage. And even though Blazing Aura does more damage than Lightning Field, it is likely only going to tick once or twice on a mob before they're dead.

As to why you aren't able to get higher numbers, I really couldn't say anything without seeing your build, the map, and play style.

Some people take their recipes/salvage into account. The other day I scored 2 purples one after the other within a minute of each. The sale on them would of meant I make a lot per minute.

Yea seriously....with my AE map alone, I was up around 6M per hour, buuut if you take into account in that 1 hour I capped my tickets, bought 14 Pangean soils, and sold them all for 3 million a pop.....voila....damn near close to 50M an hour.

iWin?

FYI - I'll gladly take a guaranteed 48-50M an hour over a !CHANCE! for a purple...

but as Silas said....inf/min (or inf/hour) is ONLY counted by kills, not drops.

And sorry Shadow....I'll clear my drunk posts with the correct regulatory commitee for alcholics next time

Dont penalize my habits!!

Lyger, wouldn't you make a lot more money if you spent all those tickets on recipe rolls?

Those "suboptimal" picks would become more optimal in the market if people stopped/slowed doing them. But I agree that there is a preference among AEers to just getting some rare salvage because its more predictable and easier than doing bronze rolls and seeing what everything sells for. If you put in the time to do something thats more of a pain you'll usually be rewarded in game for it because most everyone is taking shortcuts.

I'm not sure how people are doing 500k a min straight from killing mobs. I can clear lib TV map on +2 x8 in like 35 mins which is about the fastest I've heard from people and thats not even close to 500k per min.

Now when you factor in the purples I pop (roughly 1 per hour if I'm rolling) my averages are much higher of course. When the MM bug in AE was active I was making 2B a day (in 2 hrs) on average but I'm sure I would have been better off running an MM anyhows.

Sure. But that's the beauty of the market - it adapts and changes.

Compare it to the amount of time he spends sifting through the random recipes separating the wheat from the chaff.

Plus, there are intangibles. For some people, the marketing of each random recipe is fun. For other people, they want to get back to stomping.

Okay thats how I think, but I guess I dont know the game well enough to do this. I recently got into AE (no I dont do the AV farms), but I do like to make really tough missions for my brute to run if I solo (which is frequently these days). Lately my SG has been running them with me, and we find them to be quite challenging.

I am running a SS/FA brute so my main attacks are smashing? A guess would say to fight robots or find something that is vulnerable to smashing damage. Optimimal would be to go against something that has fire attacks since fire is my highest resist that is vulnerable to smashing damage which is my most common damage type.

So far I am liking the Brute a lot. I am currently lvl 25.

My question is how do you easily pin point the enemy group that will give you an edge? A web site like paragonwiki? Are there any other sites out there that have this type of information on mobs?

Could look at culex's enemy resistance spreadsheet. Take a bit to look through everything, but the info is all there.

Mathmatically id say a Elec/FA Brute could dish out some fugly Farming compaired toa SS/FA Brute.

More AoE.
