Paragon's Top Modelsheet...
My own for Neurotika is the only one I have done right this very second, but I have one in the works right now that should turn out really nice, as all the bells and whistles were ordered. The client was also super-mega ultra awesome with bringing everything to the table so I could see exactly how he sees his character. But it took him quite a while to get everything together and was just a HUGE amount of information, which really highlighted how he'll get great benefit from the model sheet =)

Name: Lynn Renata
Alias: Linnurata (Finnish "Milky way.")
In game powers - energy/energy blaster, modified colors to be almost pure white (and *very* bright.)
Description: "Fit" Caucasian woman, early 20s (think college sophomore-ish.) Natural, short (never longer than touching the shoulder) red hair that's bright enough people don't believe it's natural. Amber eyes. 5'5". No tattoos, permanent scars or the like.
Personality/history: She laughs easily and has fun. She was rescued by one of the few Peacebringers on earth years ago (pre-teen.) Hero worship (which she's still subsceptible to with the Kheldians) turned into something else when she ended up with a bad fever later and her powers slowly developed. She believes she's a Peacebringer, and the one thing that will get her stubborn streak going full bore is being told she's not, or that the powers are anything other than perfectly natural for her. (Broke her heart, not to mention leg and a rib, when she couldn't fly as early as she thought she should.) This also leads to her being very *thorough* when on missions, feeling a need to prove herself to everyone (even the Kheldians who have "adopted" her into their group. Especially them, even though they're fine with her.)
Colors: Tends to use a lot of light colors, especially whites, light blues, with shades of purples as a nod to her "redeemed warshade kin" as details here and there.
Favored outfit:
(Unable to be reproduced in game - the boot tops tend to have a shallow "V" cut top if seen from the front. Leggings *are* a shinier and slightly darker/closer to purple shade of blue than the top/skirt's blue - that's accurate in the shot, not a lighting issue.)

The Guide to BURN
Ok here goes.
Alias: Sapphic Neko.
Real Name: Unknown, her friends call her Sapphy or Neko.
Origin: Mutant, cat-girl.
Powers: None aside heightened senses and agility from her cat genes. She's an expert in martial combat.
Weapons of choise: Sword and Shield or Dual Blades.
Favorite saying: "Pain so close to pleasure..."
Backstory:
Sapphic Neko was made during a scientific experiment labeled, Project: Sapphic. The mad scientist Annah had the not so brilliant idea to make a legion of lesbian catgirls. The proejct was a smashing success except one minor (or major) flaw...
There was no demand for lesbian catgirls, all of Annahs work was for naught and she was determined to terminate the project and the girls. It didn't quite go as planned and several girls escaped, Sapphic Neko being one of them.
During her escape she was captured by someone she didn't know and was stuck in a prison, where she met Fluffy Handcuffs who became her friend and lover. During their escape Sapphic Neko got separated from Fluffy Handcuffs and encountered a trapped succubus while being severly wounded. The succubus and Sapphic Neko struck a deal and to give Sapphic Neko the strength she needed to escape the succubus possessed her. Small demonic wings erupted from her shoulders and she felt energized. Despite the small size of the wings Sapphic Neko got the ability to fly and hovers/glides everywhere she goes, even when she fights.

Rumor has it there are two or more Sapphic Nekos.

Her eyes have a oval pupil, much like a cats, and her iris is colored green.
Hair color is platinum blonde.
Aside her eyes the catfeatures she has is a tail and ears with white fur on them. She has no fur on the rest of her body.
Collar has a small tag which normally reads "Pet", but she recently got one with the message "Property of Fluffy Handcuffs."
Her leggings end below her skirt, which is much shorter than in game.
Heroic Sapphic Neko has a catspaw tattoo on her left buttcheek, while villain Sapphic Neko has one on her right buttcheek. Apparently the only way to tell the two apart, aside Hero Sapphic Nekos preference for the sword and shield, while villain Sapphic Neko prefers the two daggers.

So yes, you are eligible to enter despite your Matchstick project, people with alt-itis can enter... But by the same token I am going to admit a bias towards people with "main" or personal "signature" characters who I think will benefit most from the sheet... *Not to say a dark horse couldn't win one but it will likely he tougher for them...
And hey, even if you don't win this is still an opportunity to take a little time to really think about your character, to consider exactly what you want them to look like free of the costume creator limitations, and how best to express that... *Even if it doesn't get you a model sheet you can still save it for the next time you get arts...

Then he had to drill a safe for the family, Red was paid by a bullet. Left for dead, his blood flowed to an old mask Tsoo who fell at the same time as him on the ground. Blood liberated the spirit trapped in the mask, then he took possession of the body of Red, making it stronger and giving it powers. Unfortunately his eyes became red and he was decked out with horns and a devil's tail. Red is then hurled into a quest for revenge by joining those who fought against the mafia organization, but it was not quite what one might call a hero ...

Distinguising Features:
- Head: Extensive scarring has left her head completely rough and black, with patches of reddish scars, unable to grow hair, and completely blind.
- Mask: Because of this, she occasionally wears a mask to hide some of her face and cover her eyes, typically using the triangular visor from the Cyborg set.
- Costume: Taking a cue from her chosen hero name, her costume represents a burnt matchstick, with a wide stripe running down the middle of her costume representing the stick of the match, and her burnt and scarred head representing the burnt match head, and leaving the rest of the outfit black to represent negative space. Although her gloves often have a touch of color even when they're not on fire.
- Colors: Her color choices often depend on her mood, sometimes a wooden colored stripe, sometimes red, with a natural gas style blue flame, sometimes a dark red with lots of smoke reflecting some bad moods, and most recently, in all light blue.
- Flames: She uses modified flame devices to attack her enemies, as well as accentuating her look by what looks like setting her head on fire. While it may look painful, the flames around her head are a lower heat than most flames, and her thick and scarred skin is quite resistant to flames.
I've been debating this one for a bit, but after thought, I almost think I am better off without a reference sheet for Kai. I have a lot of art for reference already and enjoy the artistic stylings of people's interpretations, so I'll leave this one for people who don't have much art yet to use as future reference

Here is my entry, in advance sorry for alot of text.
Character name is Lady Arete
Lady Arete is a natural and very gifted sorceress that currently specializes in fire magic (Tossing Fireballs, holding people with fire, without hurting them etc). As a Sorceress she knows many other spells in particular warding magic and teleportation. She can dabble with alchemy and can fly. Somehow she also knows a little, if pressed on the matter, about soul magic; Binding and freeing. But she does not use that much (was fun though rp'ing that out) She serves the group she is in with magical expertice and teaching new members (and old) if they got the ability etc to control their magic and learn a few new spells.
Apperant looks:
She is about 25 years of physical age (she is older then she looks due to magic) and apperantly she will not age above that. This is due to the fact that at the age of 25 she completed a magical ritual that allowed her to tap into the power of a phoenix.
She has dark red hair with eyes that are deep of magical wisdom (eye color is green). She is comly and slender. Hight: Using the slider in the game 6' (feet?) But I do believe she is about 1,80 meters.

The short version:
The short version is, born in England atleast 50 years ago. her father was strongly religious and her mother was a sorceress. Naturally they clashed and the mother took the child named Carolyn (Lady Arete) with her as she joined various magical societies in europe. In these societies the girl grew in magical strength and popularity while her mother where placed in the shadow of this brilliant little girl.
As Carolyn became adult she had long since surpassed her mother and the magical groups and she and her mother had an argument. A few years later Carolyn had married into british aristocracy and used her husbands status to aqquire more of british knowledge of magic. It went as far as she adopted a moniker, Lady Arete, and did some criminal things. She was however not found out.
Taking a little vacation, she arrived in what is known as Paragon City where she continued her low key crime spree. There she met Duncan, a fellow mage and a person involved in a big magical society called Circle of Thorns. They both kept hidden and the Midnight Squad did not spot them.
However her doubts and fears of Duncan and this Circle of Thorns grew and proved right. They had occationally asked her if she wanted to get more magical power, but when she heard that it involved the piercing of her heart with a thorn, she was reluctant. The circle tried something else another night, scared she left them and abandoned contact. The Circle however did find her and those she had not seen nor devulged information of and made her meet them in Perez Park. There before her eyes her sister and husband died, angered and terrified she unleashed the power of the phoenix for the first time in a uncontrollable rage. She managed to flee, but Perez was never the bright park it used to be as her fury added to what should twist this park later.
She flew through the city and was tried to be apprehended by both heroes and circle, but she evaded them all, but one. She managed to find a place where she could simply allow herself to cry and shake the fear and there a hero found her. She opened up as the hero listened and she gave herself up to the police. She was sentenced and sent to jail and forgotten. In her cell she could think and come to terms with herself. Some time after this the Rikti invaded for the first time and when it was over a few heroes remembered the sorceress. She was enlisted as a hero and has been one ever since.
It is after she became a hero that the phoenix power has come to better use. As the Lady brooded and thought of her actions (in the zig) a new understanding emerged and this opened the link between them. In battle when things really get intense I like to envision the soft blur of a fire bird looming in the background, (like an aura) but that is me. It does not show during normal battles though.
With the power she can get quickly up again. Like the bird from myth, she gets her life back again. She might be a little older and wrinkled after the effect, but she will return to her normal visage shortly afterwards.
Personality:
She is stern, she knows compassion and knows that people can redeem themselves (as she did). She is patient and often relaxed. She has no tolerance for stupid evil though. Stupid evil is: Lets destroy the planet, kill every person etc... Her comments are usually "Not as long as I live you fool. I want to continue to live on this planet!" Well atleast she tells herself that. She likes books, and Founders Falls restaurants.
Naturally her favourite enemy are the Circle, which she hates and fights with a passion (and this group is.. accident prone... go figure ). She believes Duncan to be dead, but that may not be the case.

Cool, let me see...
Arno Stone's alter ego is WarMain and as his alter ego, Arno don's a powered exoskeleton to fight crime in Paragon City.

What follows is his basic in game appearence, but there are some things missing, most notably is the lack of a gorget and a weapons pod on his back. The gorget is higher at the shoulders and the back and lower toward the chest. It is about two to three inches thick and roughly diamond shaped.
The pod is sort of shaped like a truncated football cut in half and anchored to the back of the armor. The top quarter portion is designed to slide out and down revealing the LRM missile launcher whiile the truncated bottom quarter combines the function of both the main thruster and missile exhaust port. The thruster exhaust port is lined with a segmented ring of high temperature shielding which extends down on to the armor forming a trapizoid (with the narrow end toward the waist. The pod is roughly 2/3rds the length the armor's back and about 1/3rd the width while extending about six inches from the surface. The thruster exhuast features deflctor plates for vectored thrust. Unlike the gold and blue color scheme of the armor, the exhaust port shielding is a dark dull grey.
The arms and legs also posses a more armored look and the gauntlets are a bit more streamlined with the area above the hands and below the gold pattern featuring the energy blast emmiter ports that generally follows the in game gauntlet's contour but also features the segemented shielding of the weapons pod on the back. The calves are generally the same as the in game model except the inverted "V" portion features a thruster exhaust port with the same segmented shielding and trapizodial shielding toward the ankles, there also rudimentary articulated delector plates for vectored thrust.
The gold face on the helmet is actually composed of individual radar elements which when veiwed up close looks like an octagonal grid.

History: Cat grew up in Paragon City, the youngest of five and the only girl in the Blaze family. Inspired by the heroes that were a constant presence there, she quickly and eagerly joined the Paragon Police. Dedicated and driven, she quickly rose to the ranks and became a detective. On a seemingly routine metahuman incident, she ran afoul of Captain Mako (For details, go here). Mako has killed all officers on the scene and ripped off Cat's left leg before Synapse intervened.
Dealing with survivor's guilt and the loss of her leg, she pushed herself through physical therapy and refused to be placed behind a desk. Now, armed with the latest gadgets from the PPD R&D boys, she fights alongside the heroes she used to watch from the sidelines.

Personality: A bit tomboyish, having had to keep up with four older brothers. Extremely focused, but usually has a hard time biting her tongue when it comes to smart-aleky comments. Still insecure about her artificial leg in social situations.
Well, this contest finally got me to put together a pseudo-reference sheet, so even if I don't win I will have that for the future. I'm not sure if photobucket compressed the text too much to be readable (curse you photobucket!!!) so if you need any of the text reproduced for ease of reading, let me know. (and I keep finding typos, so apologies for any I missed).
Background:
Draggynn was born in Paragon City to a seer of limited talents and the crazed scientist who had seduced her for his own diabolical purposes. Desperate to produce results for Crey Industries, and accrue the favor of the Countess, the scientist took to experimenting on his new wife and son. As such, the son spent the majority of his youth in a coma, his body writhing from his father's experiments, the Scientist's wife having proven a test subject of limited life. The Scientist, failing to achieve results, decided to return to the classics. The Scientist mutated his son to grow horns, that he might use them to guide the mighty thunderstorm through his subject, a plan sure to produce results. Unfortunately for the scientist, with the guidance of the Seer's psyche, rather than being flambe', the son was able to seize control of the storm, freeing himself from the Scientist. As her final act, the Seer bequethed her son the name Draggynn, that he might be strong and protect those that come after from his fate. The spelling has been a question that many have pondered. Perhaps, having had no formal education, the fledgling hero simply did not how to spell Dragon, perhaps he simply thought the unorthodox spelling looked more attractive, or perhaps that name should actually be pronounced Drag-Djinn and is a phonetic spelling of an archaic word long lost to us. Regardless this quiet and softspoken hero patrols the streets lending a hand where he is able.
Draggynn is serene as though he has the weight of the world on him: not really melancholy, but intense. He tends to stay calm, but when angry burns with a cold and righteous fury rather than a hot and excitable flame.

My own for Neurotika is the only one I have done right this very second, but I have one in the works right now that should turn out really nice, as all the bells and whistles were ordered. The client was also super-mega ultra awesome with bringing everything to the table so I could see exactly how he sees his character. But it took him quite a while to get everything together and was just a HUGE amount of information, which really highlighted how he'll get great benefit from the model sheet =)

Call them model shhets, character sheets, turnarounds or whatever you choose, I've become convinced of their benefits and importance... And now that our very own lovely and talented Wassy is offering them along with all her other fabulous commission offers, I figured it was high time for another contest.
Now keep in mind, the prize or prizes are model sheets, not pin up art. As such, if your just looking for free arts then you'd be better off waiting for my next contest... While model sheets certainly can be cool looking, their main purpose is to facilitate future artists who are doing that character - to show them the details and specifics of a character and their costume - it's a reference guide, not something to put up on your wall...
With that in mind, hopefully only those with clear, concise ideas of their character, and who expect to be getting more art of said character in the future, should enter. If your not going to need such a reference guide, why try to win one away from someone who will?
So please, if you just want free arts, wait for a future contest which will be more geared to pin up art... You should know by now I'll be doing one of those soon enough
Anyway, on to the details...

The contest:
I'm looking for people with definite, clear pictures of how they want their character to look and will be trying to determine who could best work with Wassy to make that look become a reality... Wassy takes doing these very seriously and so I am looking to see who is just as serious about their character.
As such, the entrants to this contest should describe their character as they would to Wassy in order to let her know exactly how the character should look. This means detailed descriptions, references, whatever... Do whatever it takes to let us build that perfect picture of your character in our minds.
This isn't a writing or description contest though... Sure that will play some role but reference materials are likely to play just as big a role. You want so and so's eyes but what's her name's hair? Let us know and give us examples!
All in all we're looking to be impressed by the character, sure, but mainly of your vision of that character and your dedication to getting them done perfectly...
As for originality... That's a tough one to answer. Someone saying their character looks exactly like Famous Person X is not going to win - they don't need model sheets as they can just have the artist draw that famous person... *But at the same time it's not important that you have a unique mix of costume pieces either... *Basically the character as a whole needs to be original enough so that people can tell it's your character and not just a copy of whatever... If that makes any sense at all? Eh, I'll probably come back and edit this section later...
Timeframe: The contest starts now and will be open for entries for a week - I'll close it sometime Sunday the 13th of June.
Speed is of no matter as long as you get it in on time, impressing me with the need to see your character realized is
Minor details/Misc:
1 entry per person. The biggest part is to see who has the best vision and can communicate it most effectively more so than the coolest character so multiple entries shouldn't help.
Entry can be as long or short as needed. It can include as many links and/or references as needed. However, you must of course adhere to all forum rules!
Winners and number of winners are at my sole discretion... There is no challenges, popular vote, instant replay or complaining.*
Contest is open to any player with an active forum account. The contest is on the forum so, um, yeah... Previously winning a contest of mine or such doesn't matter, you are still eligible.*
