Electric Control

Its not like they design new sets around vill AT´s(exception mastermind primaries) lol

I'm trying to think of a reason not to go elec/psi... could do some nice -recovery. Toss in Mu for Power Sink.

But that seems so cliched. I've run three other /psi (ice, fire and mind) already. And have taken Mu on more doms than I can count.

So what else would pair well with elec control? Yeah, I know elec/elec... but what else?

I figure it'll be a melee toon with the drain aura, so what about earth, energy or ice? Maybe even thorns?

Please buff Ice Control.

I ended up going elec/earth. The SMASH is a nice combo of control and damage to boost elec's potential AoE control issues.

I got to lvl 9:
1 Tesla
4 Jolting Chain
8 Conductive Aura

1 Spears
2 Hammer
6 Fissure

Despite the bad rap Jolting Chain took in beta, I'm liking it. Nice fast recharge and the jump is lightning quick, too. With slotting it'll be perma knockdown.

The aura has a nice side effect of paralyzing mobs so long as you don't attack them. It seems the sap timer with responding mob writhing interrupts their attack chain nicely.

Another thing I'm liking is that the holds and immobs don't have that stupid -kb that the controllers were crying about. It makes them much more useful as they don't nullify Jolting Chain a' la ice slick and ice holds/immobs.

/Earth is till a major end hog though, so conductive aura is a great pick up at lvl 8. Will make the teens bareable until stamina.

Please buff Ice Control.

The big complaint about Jolting Chain is the long activation time. You won't notice that until much later, if ever, with Earth Assault

I went with Electric/Earth too. It's also what I ran on the Beta Server. I didn't get very high with it during BETA, only lvl 11. But it has plenty of smash. I found /Earth's knockdowns combined will with Electric. There's plenty of soft control in a baby Electric/Earth build to keep you safe, IMHO.

My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi

It does seem like Electric/Earth is the best combo. I think Electric/Psi would be great as well. However, I plan to go intentionally incompatible with mine just for fun. I'm going to make Electric/Energy. Hey, it is a concept character.

No doubt Elec/Earth has got to be amazing though.

I was thinking of trying Earth/Thorns, but I'm not sure now because of the AOE DoTs and the Sleep Patch not playing well together.

I think I'll still try it though.

Elec/Ice would be interesting and give you more soft control via the -Recharge.

In fact having just read up on Icy Assault it could be an excellent combo. Damage doesn't seem shabby at all, which is what I was worried about and the two auras would seem to have great synergy.

And no DoT to interfere with the reapplication of the Sleep patches. I'm swaying towards that combo myself now.

Sleet and Ice Storm in the 40s combined with your AOE immob with no knockdown protection. That sounds well evil.

Yeah, it's the combo in the epic that has me all weak-kneed. Sleet is one of my favourite powers in the game, and coupling it with Ice Sword Circle and other reasons to be standing in melee makes me very excited.

Bonus, gremlins as the minions of a storm god... the only lure of the elec/fire is the whole 'raining fire and brimstone.'

Went for Elec/Energy, simply because /Energy and /Thorns are the two Assault sets I haven't taken to 50 and Energy seemed to mesh better (ST versus AOE centric).

Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)

I rolled a elec/ice last night. having a ton of fun with it atm.

Elec/Ice ended up being my favorite test character, and the one I'm definitely planning on recreating today on Live.

Please try my arcs:

Arc# 401500 "How to Be a Successful Professional Criminal" (length=Very Long, levels 1-10)

Since the beta boards are open i guess.

i went with elec psi dom in beta, (it went thru ALOT of changes thru beta) Still like it after all the changes, hope it will get some tweaks up regarding small isssues, once the devs get enough data see what the set is doing. Overall, thought it was a blast. Not sure what the controller thought of it.

Would prob go Rad if doing a controller, the pbaoe hold and pbaoe end drain would be choice.

Does power boost have the devastating effect I'm thinking it does when paired with electricity control? Drain super fast?

I hope so, because I scrapped my Electric / Electric to make an Electric / Stone partially for Power Boost. The variation in damage types coupled with the massive amounts of KB had a little to do with it too.

I figure I'll go for the Cold APP Once I get that high and really enjoy some KB.

EB's drained in a few seconds.

You really aren't helping my Elec/Ice/ice build plan saying things like that.

Hmmm. If I drop Air Sup and fly and live with SS I can shunt it in...

It is imo, if available a MUST. it's an excelent utlity for basically just wading in there and sapping everything.

Oh and it needs noting that this was sapping EBs at level 14 - 17 with just 2 Accuracy DOs in the power. (and the stun proc). My end game plan is to keep the Stun Proc since (although 10%) it fires off enough for me to be happy with it, even at lower acc levels since its got a high tick rate on the -end bit) and to slot Acc/EndMod, Acc/EndMod/Rech from one set and Acc/EndMod from another.

I'll have to wait and see how this runs on AVs, but since i'll be leaving Praet tonight i'll try to run a Sister Psyche or a Synapse and get an idea of how viable sapping will be against those.

My issue with Power Boost (and Domination) with Elec Control is that it won't augment the Sleep Patch or anything beyond the initial target of the chaining Confuse, which irks me. It'll work with Paralysing Blast of course and I do always take and Frankenslot the AOE Holds.

Way I figure, does it really need to do more? It's a small power investment and it ups the duration on your holds, or your AOE hold, the confuse, and the end drain... I dunno, I figure if it's doing all that, it's merely a shame it doesn't do more, not a reason to not do it.

But yeah. Anyone want to share builds, ideally in text, for the silly boy who can't access mids at the moment? I'm really thinking about this elec/ice/ice vs elec/fire/ice.

Here's My planned dom thats 22 now after one day of playing them. Does have 4 purple sets but the single target hold doesn't have to be a purple. Main focus for me was getting perma dom for the status protection and long holds to combine with powerboost for the end drain and long holds, and the end mod in static field can be move to something else still tweaking build as i'm leveling to fit the style i will play later on.
