I'm fine with adding a skin to the bottom of the floor tiles, but I still wouldn't use them for floors. I just can't get past the "the floor is only as thick as tile" thing. I'd prefer floor plates that are at least a quarter as thick as a desk.

Well, it's a bit more complicated than cut n' paste.

Base items, for one thing, need to be bounded to the invisible placement "grid". Items elsewhere do not.

So you'd have to make a few adjustments to each model before plopping them into the base editor. Which over the course of many items can add up in work.

So use two floors, one a touch higher than the other.

Also, desks are three 'units' high. Smaller than 1/3rd would require more significant alterations to stuff.

That argument is laughable. I have 10 racks, 9 for alphabetical storage of yellow or rarer, and a 10th to hold some commonly-used whites and a few rare overflows.

Still, they're clogged to the gills (this is my own vanity VG, btw, just me) so I unloaded about 40 things on the BM. With 2 exceptions, everything went for incredibly cheap prices, including a number of yellows.

It's a buyer's market. In fact, the only time prices go up a little bit is in the first half of a weekend, when lots of weekenders resume play enough to start leveling more, and thus start buying up more stuff.

By Sunday afternoon, prices have crashed again, and will stay that way until the next Friday/Saturday.

Now if the devs wanna keep people happy at crush time, they would need a different solution. LIKE, OH, I DON'T KNOW, LETTING US STORE MORE!

Then we wouldn't have to toss stuff because it's useless to sell (won't sell, or will, but for 22 inf.)

Or let us sell a hell of a lot more at a time, so we can unload tons of crap on the AH and just leave it there. Or have the AHs offer generic bins you can heave your whites into and get a cut of the average sell price for that *week*. Like selling to a vendor, but it goes on the AH for a whatever-the-price-will-bear cost.

Then people can unload it any time during the week, but still get something approaching the weekend sell price. Both sides win since more items will keep weekend costs lower.

Someone patent that.

* Set storage racks/tables/bins to store/sort alphabetically, the same as personal storage.
Oh holy god how this is needed, especially for my alphabetic-by-storage-rack system of 9 racks. Sort by quantity, too, rarity, etc., like other things.

* textures on the undersides of the large floor tile and small SG tiles so they are not invisible from underneath. Using the same texture from top on the underside should be fine... again, as alternate additions.
Ya, add as an alternative, not a replacment. I use the invis-from-bottom for building!

* speaking of beacons, fix the bug that is displaying the "destroyed" artwork as default for Grandville & Pocket D. The artwork for these already exists! They are in the files! They are simply not being read correctly.

NO NO NO NO NO!!! >:-( Create an optional variant that is fixed, perhaps. I love my burned up one. You need to see how it is placed in my base to understand, but "fixing" it will totally wreck the placement.

In this particular case, it's a functional item, so it really does need to be fixed.

I would like to see decorative versions of all the wall monitor type objects, though. Including the 'broken' ones.

FYI folks, Art Lead David has started up one of his "All Things Art" threads for booster packs.

A lot of focus has been on mutant/monster/animal packs. A few brave souls have spoken up for a SG booster pack, but we could use some more voices.

Head on over and give him your ideas.

As much as I'd love to jump in, I managed 10 pages into that thread before giving up. In the posts I read (and I read several from the last pages) any mention was so heavily buried I saw nothing.

Just so that I can say it here....
Proposal has been sent and we are waiting to hear back from the devs for the BBC
And while we wait we are making notes of things to talk about. Some of this thread is on the list. Can I say end of discussion for now?

Beg your pardon?
Who/What is the BBC?
And why should we stop discussing things that are of interest to us?

How many years do you plan to wait for a response?

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

I'm certain you and the BBC (whatever that is) have all of our best interest at heart. It's comforting to know notes are being taken on what we say and there's a (your preferred) "list"... but for now we should "zip it". Wow (serious?).

Can I have a look at the "Proposal"? Nevermind, to parapharse the great Groucho Marx I would never want to join a club [clique, committee, etc.] that would have me as a member.

I had no idea the British Broadcasting Corporation was interested in our suggestions for the base architect.

As to if you can say "end of discussion for now." I don't think anyone here knows if you can say it or not. For all we know you may have a seriously debilitating speech impediment and everything you say sounds like "tufflump girdlefump." in which case no you can't say it.

If you actually meant to ask, "May I say end of discussion for now?" then the answer is no you may not. People are free to participate in this thread and contribute further ideas or criticisms s as long as they obey forum rules. Only the Mods can tell us to shut the hell up.

Or even a "no trim" option... I dunno 'bout anyone else, but I'm tired of using cables & vents to make the trim strategically disappear.

more sewer bits, like small valve wheels, and pipes.

All of this is minor stuff, but would open up a plethora of possibilities.
Do we need to sticky this thread too?

No, but your avatar makes you one in my eyes... Alll hail Yotsuba!

Anyway though, for my own low-hanging fruit requests...

-I'd like to see maybe getting the trees and plants from the planters without the pots or planters. (Whew, try saying that three times fast)

-That thin, tech computer without the huge platform attached

-All decorative items to be reduced in price by either 50% or to 0. (Okay that's a bit out there)

-And for something a little up there: 1x1 squares made up of the desks, only baked together, this would have the benifit of GREATLY reducing the polycount of most bases and reduce server strain.

Really, really basic stuff if you could only have two items added to the editor:

1. Floor items, like the Floor Tile except double sided. In the existing variety of textures (white, grey, wood, etc).

2. Wall items, in a similar fashion.

These two alone would reduce item counts in many bases to literally 10% of their existing amounts.

Also would be lovely if the base allowed total height for each room was doubled, and if stuff could be placed in doorway sections, but those would require some coding changes.

I found this on Redside. Its beautiful. For obvious reasons, I am suggesting this. These shrubs, they are forming a maze. It would be -BIG LOVE- if they were stackable. look at that grass. yummy. look at that pavement. also yummy. Look at those tiny bushes around that water fountain. Lovin it. Would water fountains be possible?
