What mission to farm.

I just hit 50 and have a Claws/SR brute. I'm looking for a good mission for farming. I got off to a hot streak with purples and since my first 2 I haven't gotten another. I've recently done mostly paper council paper missions.

Any suggestions for getting lots of purples?

Just the usual suspects. I'd guess you'll want to pass on the Nemesis farm due to the +tohit buffs they get, but the ship demon farm should still be good. The freak/DE map would probably be too slow due to the lethal resists.

I've been poking through the AE Developer's Choice missions lately since they drop real salvage not tickets, including purples. Looking for Carnies, Banished Pantheon and other arcane. Haven't found a good one yet.

Has anyone else found one that's nice? Carnies would be great for claws/sr since they are vulnerable to lethal. The downside is a few of the bosses have psionic attacks with no positional aspect, so if your psionic defense isn't up there, the Ring Mistresses might give you some grief. then again, they do take bonus damage from lethal so if you kill them fast enough it won't matter. And it is only the psionic attacks that are the problem.

Thing to note about the Possessed Scientists map is that there are many different kinds of Scientists you can get. You'll always get the same kind once you've got it, (for example my SS/FA was lucky and got the fire ones) but you could easily get some very obnoxious ones.

I know SRs DDR is huge but in a full spawn if you get multiple earth control Lts you might have some trouble.

Since Claws is a more unconventional AoE set for farming, (in that it has cones you want to use, rather than just spamming the PBAoE ala Super Strength), I'd recommend you just get a Carnies or Council newspaper mission on a warehouse or office map.

Because of the new difficulty settings, couldn't the OP also just get a newspaper mission with a desired group at +1/x8 or something?

And I'm sure Claws can farm. My Claws/SR scrapper is not high (30) but she made 60 million in 2 hours by salvage+recipe drops in Dark Astoria. Not as fast killer as my FM/SD, but really she did well, spin is really good and recharges fast even with SOs. And much less insp usage than my FM/SD since she has 33% def and some DDR already (after all I'll get Evasion only at 35 as a scrapper), meaning 1 small purp and I'm softcapped.

Plus SR Brutes have a taunt aura which should make it easier to group mobs for spin.

Checked, Spin recharges in 9.2 seconds for Scrappers and 14 secs for Brutes.

But just compare the base damage numbers on similar Brute PbAoEs:

Typhoon's Edge 47.5 (rech 12s)
Whirling Hands lol 41.7 (rech 14s)
FSC 78 (rech 20s)
Tremor = WH but 15 radius
W. Mace 46.7, W. Axe 41.7 (rech 14 s)

Only FS wins - 106.6 (with Rage), 15 radius, 20s rech.

But you'll also have Shockwave: HUGE cone, 47.1, rech 14 s

I know resetting it didn't change their kind, but when I completed it and went back to it in Ouro I had another kind.

I mostly farm AE for the tickets.

Oddly enough it does change if you complete the original mission and then get it again through Ouroboros.

Edit: haven't checked whether quitting the Ouro TF and restarting can change their type, I would imagine so. I'll bet it's set as soon as you start the arc.
