I like it. I like Ultra, I really like Demons, I like being able to e-mail stuff, I like the animated tails.

There's supposed to be a color change option for that in Options.

Yes, they do need to make the numbers bigger. As for why; if you look, you'll see that there's significant open space now even after you 6-slot a power; that's led to speculation it has something to do with the upcoming Incarnate system and special enhancements.

Don't remember if it was in closed or open beta, but Castle denied any more enhancement slots for powers, IIRC.

Well I'll say I'm happy. I haven't pre-ordered GR (although I will at some point, but I'm working on a character now so didn't really care about DP or DS) so there was nothing there for me.

However:
Ultra Mode works on a rather non gaming Laptop, which was a pleasant surprise.
I17 runs far far more smooth on said laptop, which was another pleasant surprise.
While I have not finished them, the new missions seemed fun.
The new interface at WW was decent enough.
Love love love the email inf and junk to people. I hated having to dual box, or beg for a transfer.

So overall, I'm very pleased with the patch. It was more than I expected and I'm happy to see the road to GR being paved in a very fine manner.

Good job!

And i had a smooth performance.
I love this. Thanks devs for the great work.
I gotta say that I switched characters from blue to red, and red side UM is less noticeable... And at tailor, the metallic reflectives pieces didnt show any texture, not even the old one. But first time I logged in, everything was working perfectly.
Anyone knows how is this?
I actually haven't been able to use UM yet, my system isn't up to par just yet. I however love the GLEEMAIL system, so dope.

Everything works great on my computer. I had to disable FSAA or get lots of lag. But with that off, everything is smooth and quick.

I just wish we had fingers...

Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind

OMG!! Please add these costume designs now!

Cant use tailor to change costumes because i client crash, cant create a new charecter because i crash on name entry screen, which therefore means I cant use demon summoning either. The game is worse off than in it was pre i17, once again a crappy barely tested patch gets pushed to live before its ready, really not impressed at all.
You really really make me laugh. Are we even playing the same game?

The i17 Opening Day was a great day for me.

1) I didn't think my comp could run Ultra. It can. I have a nVidia 8800. Looked great.

2) I got a purple and got to see the new purple "recipe found" pop up. I got the Contagious Confusion proc, which is one of my favorites.

3) I got dropped two temp powers, a Jet Pack and a Back-up Radio.

4) I worked a DS/Therm build on Mid's. I think it's going to be pretty good.

It was the best issue Opening Day I have ever been on, even though, I was on an LGTF with some green mitos that didn't want to cooperate.

Never argue with stupid people. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I am not blind. My card is not broken. The game is still the game. I never ever befor paid much attention to the water ingame, nor did I really care if I could see my reflection off of glass.

When I first heard about UM I was under the impression (the wrong impression) that UM was gonna crank it up so the game looked more polished more like Aion. Aions graphics are beautiful. The colors are fabulous, however the gameplay is sucktacular... lol.

What needs to be updated is how our characters look... not just in specific costume pieces, but on a whole. As well as the powers, they need a graphical update of awesomeness.

This game has IMO the absolute best combat, and skill/power structure. This game also has the best character customization. Period. The BEST IMO in those things.

The total amount of difference that I notice is limited because I dont play a Weather Girl or even a Reporter... I play a SuperHero/Villain which means What I am looking at mostly is My characters and the foes I am poundin the crap out of... Two things that UM didn't even really touch, unless your wearing metallic costumes.

I'm still suffering from non-visible shadows or something being rendered underground Redside causing huge FPS drops. It's ridiculous.

Turn off Ambient Occlusion. Watch FSAA suddenly work again.

Be well, people of CoH.

I hate i17. My game used to look like a 1st gen Xbox360 game, now it looks like an old Playstation 1 game. They screwed up users with Intel GPUs.

For me, this is my main Ultra Mode problem. I don't really get what all those terms mean, do or what is really possible on my machines. That and for some reason my desktop is having problems changing the graphics in game but my laptop is fine.

It looks good on both which is nice but while I can play with the different settings on the laptop, the desktop goes ker-blooey. I am going to keep checking nvidia to see if they get yet newer drivers for the desktop (it is a 2 week old driver) and be very glad I almost always play on the laptop.

But I do know a lot of people are experiencing problems which are keeping them from playing well or at all so I hope the devs can get that fixed quick.

Can't say that I hate anything with I17 , everything is running smoothly for me and I don't have the UM set up just yet . Ran the second Posi last night and had a blast , switched to red side and ran two mishes with no issues . So overall bravo to the devs from me , and I can't wait to run more TF and experience the other content before July and GR comes out .

Not exactly a kind reply. i am seeing similar problems with the tailor and character creation - trying to pay for a costume change locks the game (but not the OS) and i have to force Windows 7 to shut down CoH. Yet i have a VERY good system that is running ultra mode maxed with no other issues. So yes, he and i are playing te same game - but with software and hardware differences between PCs, something is causing some of us to crash when changing (or creating) costumes.

Same here. And I want to play, not look them up and figure out what they all do. The good news is all four systems for gaming (3 desktop, one laptop) said they support Ultra Mode, so it's just a matter of playing with the settings. I did turn shadows off for a bit after someone made fun of my 30fps on a GeForce 275. Guess I do have one or two feelings left.

I love I17 so far. The new exploration badge descriptions are awesome. The realtime shadows are fun. Water's cool, when you see it. The ambient sounds are cool too (although some of the cars sound like rattletraps from a distance and remind me of the "bug clicking" fortune buff sound effect). I'm looking forward to the new arcs and a full Positron run.

I wonder if anyone made a villain yesterday that wasn't a demon mastermind?

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

I saw new VEATs by the trainer in Mercy.

So is a low FPS good or a high one? I was thinking high but I could have sworn I was in the single digits when I used /showfps 1 and got up to the 20s when I toned down some of my settings and I was playing fine.

Higher = better, apparently. I got made fun of for only having 30fps.

I'll look more closely at it tonight. It certainly seemed normal game speed in the 20s unless for some reason I missed a '1' in front of the numbers.

Yeah UM is a nice addition (when it works as it is supposed to...), but it doesn't really change the way I play.

Other additions are fine too, especially the e-mail attachment, but I still think that the new ragdoll physics are done really bad. I'd actually like to know who came up with the idea for that change.

They changed the ragdoll physics? That was my favourite thing about this game and if its radically deminished or changed, its one of the few things that could get me to quit finally after all this time.
