Fire/Rad Superteams Forming on Freedom
The Moonfire team (Task Force Nova) consisted of:
Ashlar
Crimson Image
Erif Noitaidar (hope I spelled that correctly)
Greased Wheels
Main-Sequence
Therm O'Dynamic
Zero Decay
That was the smoothest TF I have ever been on. We completed it in 1:25 plus change, and had zero casualties. Also, I can't really take credit for how well it went. The extent of my leading was just setting the missions and running the Fed-Exes (nice having that Nictus Fragment as a little souvenier). Otherwise, the team was pretty much self leading.
Sadly, I will not be around for the next 2 Fire Rad Mondays, due to having to take off for 2 weeks starting this wekend. But I will be back three weeks from now.
Woo Hoo Two Frad Mondays in a row... hope my luck keeps up.
We did have a lot of new faces and it was good to see... lots of pm's about the Frads and local chatter made it lots of fun.
The Posi was a ton of fun and it was my first run thru of the new posi.
Had we had better instructions and leadership from out... well... leader perhaps we would not have died so much ... but "be that as it may" it was still tons of fun
Heya Hell! Saw and said "Hi" to some of the F/Rad team last night in Faultline while I was out running some of the Jimmy Tremblor arc with Viridicane :-)
Hyperstrike's weekly gloat.
Yes! Again, we came. We saw. We even heard (Clamor!). Then we melted her scrawny butt down for scrap metal!
We had another successful run again this weekend. My apologies to BLA for making room for another Fire/Rad. I'll try to make it up to you.
One Sister Psyche down and out!
As you can see, I've modded one of my costume slots to provide a nice, bright, easily visible costume for people to use. It worked out fairly well. We didn't QUITE make the time limit set. But that was mostly because we were taking things fairly easily during the initial missions.
Also, my zone load times are positively ATROCIOUS at times with my 4G wireless service. I need to put in a trouble ticket for my local tower.
All in all though, we had a nice smooth run. We had one guy who didn't quite get the meaning of "stay safe" in one mission and decided to jump the boss mob all by his lonesome. But worry not! We scraped him up, stuck him in a bread mold, and cooked him back into some semblance of shape.
Our intrepid doers of derring-do this week were:
- Ashlar (Fire/Rad...DUH!)
- Zorinna (Fire/Rad...DOUBLE DUH!)
- Scorched Remains (Fire..OH YOU GET THE IDEA!)
- Vortex Core
- Hot.Stuff
- Gamma-Pyre Dan
- Greased Wheels
- Zero Decay
And I have good news. I wasn't sure I was going to make it next week or if I was going to be on a plane to Atlanta to drive a truck full of product and booth supplies back to Columbus.
Well. Now I know. My stuff will be waiting on me in Columbus. So I'll definitely be there for Fire/Rads next week.
The week after, I may be a BIT toasty from the con. But, barring something dumb (like passing out), I'll be there.
Again, I'd like to thank everyone again for coming out. As always, it's a blast (pun most intentional)!
Excellent time on the Citadel tonight.
And yes. AMx7 is somewhat less fun in those damn caves...
Still, Vandal choked to death. Poor slob!
I'd like to thank Riches for taking over leadership last night. I've got about six-hundred-gazillion things running through that lump of dead meat I'm foisting off as my brain. Convention season is upon me and I'm finding my luck is as usual (see "If it wasn't for bad luck"). $400 brake repair 3 days before the con...
Needless to say I'm glad I wasn't leading. It'd have been a mess.
I'd like to thank everyone who showed tonight.
- Zorinna
- Vortex Core
- Kaylee Foxtrot
- Duskchar
- Helon
- Riches
- Greased Wheels
And as if someone was trying to tell me something. I got a drop of a Pet +Defense Aura proc.
Loads of fun. Hopefully I'll be back, relaxed, and rested for next week.
If not, I'll post as soon as I stop bouncing off whatever rubber room they chuck me into.
Im back from Vacation I should be able to run tonight.
Okay, was REALLY late getting back from Origins today.
Got back on-time for Fire/Rads, but was VERY burnt out (6 days into a 4 day con? Yeah!)
Anyhoo, we had 9 people show for Fire/Rads tonight. Rather than kick one of them to the curb, I opted to sit out of the buttkickery tonight and catch up on my sleep.
Thanks for being understanding guys. And lemme know how it went!
We ran a Synapse and it went really well. The time went a bit long due to the fact that one of the defeat all missions would not end so we had to wait on a GM for about 20 minutes. Much congrats were handed out and players dinged various levels.
Oh and we started the night helping out another small group take on Babbage and then took him on again at the end. So a lot of reward merits.
I have a 50 Fire/Rad and I've ran a few Fire/Rad (or just all /Rad) events before. What time do you guys run this? I'm on a EST+7 time zone so I'm thinking it would be pretty hard for me to join you guys especially since I have to be up for work at about 11 pm EST, but can always try.
Also, like someone else has mentioned in the topic before. As long as you have 4+ Rads on the team you really don't need Stamina as long as you Sync your AMs (which should be your primary goal on a /Rad team). Also, if all Frads would work on a "super team build", picking up manuevers is pretty advantageous. 8x Stacked Manuevers is about 31% Defence against everything, that's nothing to sneeze at. And if you tack Hover/Combat Jumping on top of that that's over 33% defence to everything...at which point one small purple would give you 45% defence against all types and positional damage.
On a side note: AlienOne has been wanting to do an all Frad STF for over a year now..which is the main reason I made my Fire/Rad.

Okay. Another good night tonight.
We had a guy show up at level 4, so we opted to do missions tonight. And OH DEAR GOD!
- Greased Wheels
- Kaylee Foxtrot
- Riches
- Zero Decay
- Big Wave
- Vortex Core
- TechNein
- Zorinna
We had a short night tonight because several had to call early (long weekend = short recovery time).
Anyhow, when we got the first mission with all the high level carnies, I was a bit...worried.
After the first two groups, I stopped worrying.
Fire/Rads. THE ONLY WAY TO GET ARCHMAGE! We just cut straight through them.
Well, a few missions in, it was time for some people to bail. Yet, fate wouldn't let us part quite so easily. Right as we were leaving, we caught an in-progress banner event in PI (PI1, we spent most of the time trying to stay in PI2). So everyone stuck around for that.
Now we all have our badges for the event outta the way.
Effort? Well...I guess. NOT! We're a Fire/Rad team! We have to exert ourselves NOT to cook someone!
Also, sometime between the 1st and 3rd mission, I got a nice little surprise.
Armageddon: Chance for Fire Damage
I darn near pooped my spandex when I saw that!
All in all, lots of fun had. Lots of butt kicked. And Big Wave saw Big Levels out of it tonight. And now he's ready for next week.
Okay. Going to be more mishes next week. Some of our people don't have their Midnighter creds yet. So we're going to go after them. And hell, we might even keep that suicidal *AHEM*....Lady Jane alive!
Also, for those of you wondering how you get in on the group.
- Make a Fire/Rad.
- Put a couple levels on it yourself to get familiar with the powers.
- Look at the first post either here or here.
- Take a quickie, cursory look at the general build outline here.
- Show up on time.
i gotta remember to show up for this. my fire/rad is already 50 but i love teams like this. any level is fine for me.
Man, I need a better computer. One of these would, even with the settings all down, make mine cry. [and wish I didn't have altitis so that my Fire/Rad would be higher than L12 right now :]
Mondays eh? I have an old school Frad ST vet on Freedom. I'll pop in when I can to see if you have a spot, to relive the memories.
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)
Looks like I have my next alt idea. I hope to see you guys on Monday.
--If we can have huge sig images, why can we have only five lines of text?
--...faceplanting like a Defender pulling an AV (Nalrok_AthZim)
I will be on tonight. Wild fire imps could not drag me away!
Heads up guys!
Apparently we have some buddies on Liberty trying to do the same thing!
They're looking to run Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Link to the Liberty Fire/Rad Thread.
Seriously looking forward to my first FRAD Monday! My brand-spankin'-new Frad (no spanking necessary) is only level 12, though. Is that high enough or should I try to pump her up a bit before 8?

The second team tonight didn't have it quite so easy. My leadership tonight...well...sucked.
We tried a high level bank mish and tried charging the bank. NOT happening. Even taking off into the air STRAIGHT FRACKING UP from the hospital seemed to draw fire/stuns/holds/etc. It had me ready to bite rocks and spit sand.
So we were never really facing the bank villain all at once (Scirocco). Needless to say we got eaten.
Mea culpa. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.
We started again doing radios of my level (33). +1x6. That proved a bit easy. So I bumped it to +2x8. That seemed a bit sweeter once we got in the rhythm. We still were having some nasty TPKs though. Granted. We were a 4 man team. So we were doing iron-man duty taking on +2x8. Especially CoT.
But all of us stuck with it, and didn't really do half bad. Hopefully we'll see these guys back again.
- Flamin' Trolla
- Jackal Flame
- Nuclear Fyre
- Radical Burner
Well, back on the positive. We had a LOT of new faces tonight. Happy to see you all! Hope you had at least SOME fun tonight!

I was Kaylee Foxtrot btw.
Okay, just a quick blurb. Will fill in more tomorrow.
14 people! Two teams again tonight! Lotsa new faces!
Team 1 ran Posi2. We had a lot of new faces and I should have been a bit more explicit in my instructions. As such, we had a fair number of faceplants. All pretty much my fault and I'll try to do a bit better next time.
However, Doc V spent pretty much his entire existence of the fight choking and burning. And levels dropping all over the place on people.
From what I understand, the Moonfire TF went off without a hitch! Thanks to Therm O'Dynamic for leading! Everyone I talked to on that team said it was a very smooth experience.
- Therm O'Dynamic
- Main-Sequence
- Zero Decay
- Greased Wheels
- Ashlar
- Crimson Image
- Erif Noitaidar
Afterwards, a few people from each team reconstituted for one last mission and went after Burkholder for Jenni Adair. VERY fast mission.I want to thank everyone who showed tonight! Good work and it just keeps getting better. So I hope to see all of you again!
