Second, an update would be really nice right about now.
The suspence is killing me.
Loyalist, Resistance, Hero, Villain. All boring, Rogue is where the fun is.
40+ month veteran, and only one 50(+3)
My input/requests is just as good as your as I spend $15 Just like you do.
You mean OB?
*poke War Witch with bacon*
I'm curious, too, but I'm mainly here for the poking...

This what you mean? You humans and your sayings... :P
I'm sry I had too make another!
See devs, this is what you have done!
'Tis not wise to poke a War Wolf.
The repercussions can be quite far reaching.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
What's this about? Quoting Avatea:
"The Live North American and European City of Heroes servers will be offline for the implementation of a build on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010.
Start Time: 4AM Pacific Time (7AM Eastern Time / 12PM British Summer Time / 13:00 Central European Summer Time)
Expected Duration: 2 hours
Expected Finish Time: 6AM Pacific Time (9 AM Eastern Time / 2PM BST /15:00 CEST)
Patch notes will be available after the downtime.
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!"
Does this mean no Open Beta? Or perhaps DS is being released seperatley from I17 (Dual Pistols also went Live on a Wednesday)? I'm not speculating I'm honestly asking.
(Ok maybe I'm speculating a little bit. )
It's exactly what it says it is. An upcoming patch.
Frankly, I don't expect the patch notes to say anything more than, "Fixed an exploit.".

Two hours isn't remotely long enough to release an issue. Nor is it long enough to release just Demon Summoning. (They have to test major additions thoroughly before they reopen servers.)
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

Ya I didn't expect I17 to go live tomorrow (as Issues are patched in on Tuesdays), was more hoping that DS might be coming sooner than I had hoped (since as I said DP was also released on a Wednesday).
More than anything I was confused by their choice of words, Live Publish specifically. Oh well, we'll see tomorrow I guess. Fortunatley I can play Stacraft II in the meantime (a Beta I was actually invited to).

This closed beta has been unusually long, I'll admit, but I assume that since it hasn't gone live yet, they're working on ironing out kinks and such - adding a bunch of new graphics stuff that they need to ensure runs on a wide variety of hardware configurations will probably take a while. However, this probably means open beta will be short-ish if they want to get this live by the end of the month.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Why are people poking War Witch?

Not always. Let's see how they add up by issues. Dates taken from ParagonWiki Timeline page.

As you can see from the chart, it's almost equally as likely that an Issue patch will be released on a day other than Tuesday as it is that it will be released on a Tuesday.
So, can we let this fallacy die once and for all? Please?
Think I'm gonna hang onto that chart and keep it updated. And pull it out every single time I see someone make that fallacious statement.
Maybe if I repeat it enough times people will finally realize the truth.
I'm not holding my breath.

(It may be because I play WoW, and they also happen to release major patches on Tuesdays.)
I still highly doubt I17 is coming out tomorrow; hoping it's DS prerelease but I'm a bit skeptical of even that.
Yep, here's another one of those fallacies that everyone swears is gospel truth. Issues are patched in on Tuesdays.
Not always. Let's see how they add up by issues. Dates taken from ParagonWiki Timeline page. Code:
Monday - 2 Tuesday - 9 Non-Tuesday's - 9 Wednesday - 4 Thursday - 2 Friday - 0 Saturday - 1 Sunday - 0 |
Discounting Friday and Sunday (I'd ignore Saturday because it's only a headstart but it's on the chart) that means 4 days for 50% compared to 1 day. It is more likely for issues to go live on a Tuesday. Plus, except for major urgent patches (like the recent ones to curb the latest ae exploit), most of those are done on Tuesdays.
Now WHY is it more likely on Tuesdays? Because it gives them the rest of the week to try to quickly fix any bugs or problems that might pop up before they're all off for the weekend. So why not Monday? A day to review any bug reports that came in over the weekend and see if the issue needs to be pushed back or is 'good enough'. That's my thinking on why Tuesday is more common an Issue release day than any other.
"And yes, it worries me that people know how many pipelines their graphics cards have and the bus speed of a PCIe-16x, yet don't know how to convert between bordering time zones."

Also as far as the "why Tuesday?" argument goes, note that the second highest is Wednesday. Which probably means they meant to do it Tuesday but got delayed.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

Or they decided to release it on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday.
How hard can the concept of choice be for some people? Seriously?
Hey, WW!
Any chance of getting a CB update?
Or am I going to have to break out my Sedin voodoo dolls?
