Does anyone slot Brawl for set bonus reasons?
*waits for the screenshot of whoever it was that slotted it with Hecatombs*
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

My Fire/Kin Corruptor
That's on the live servers.
Heh, nice. Though I wasn't thinking of putting Hecatomb in there necessarily, builds can be pretty tight power-selection-wise, and some of the Melee sets have yummy bonuses.
It just sounded like a nice alternative to burning one of my power choices on my controller who would have to take Boxing or something to open that set.
It's not bad for Kinetic Combats on a squishy for easy good s/l defense.
Putting Hecatombs in Brawl as anything more than a joke is pretty bad.
As to the REAL reason I'll be leaving, I'm afraid it is indeed because Tamaki Revolution dc'd on me during a RSF.
I prefer not to slot "useless" powers if it can be avoided at all. But if there are no other options and you need the set bonus for your build I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

ESPECIALLY for Brutes. Throw one Acc into it (unless you have massive global Acc or +ToHit, then dump in damage procs, then throw in a Rech).
Currently your choices of proc are:
Negative Energy: Hecatomb and Touch of Death
Disorient: Pounding Slugfest
Knockdown: Kinetic Combat
Smashing: Gladiator's Strike
Lethal: Mako's Bite
Simply six-slotting it with a set would yield more steady damage, but the proc route has the potential to yield nearly 3x that damage and spread it out through some other, more exotic, damage types.
Sure, it can be done, though often not the 'best' solution. Then again, it can be.
I six slotted Touch of Death in Brawl on my SS/Shield Brute to finish soft cap Defense to all positions and leave myself a power space for Taunt.

There are some interesting possibilities in slotting Brawl, still so far I always found better use for my slots in other powers.
I've never not slotted brawl on my stalkers...
Not entirely. If you're as rich as Smurphy and you're making an ultra-high recharge build on a character with no regular melee attacks then putting Hetacomb in Brawl might make sense (assuming you can spare the slots). Obviously if the character has an actual melee attack it probably makes more sense to slot the Hetacomb there (and put a Crushing Impact in Brawl).

It's trivially easy to get a fire/kin to the s/l softcap and have permaHasten level recharge if you're using stuff that expensive.
If you've got the slots and don't have anywhere else to put a purple set, fair enough but I still think it's silly.
Build smart, not hard.
I'm not making a judgement call as to how much of the Hecatombs in Brawl slotting was a haha-look-what-I-can-do joke or simple extravagance since he just posted the pic with no other explanation...I'm just saying it's not a build move I'd recommend.

Proc damage is independant of actual attack damage, correct?

Why not put ALL of them in? Brawl becomes your multi-spectrum damage attack of awesome!

And yes, it is If you've got procs in your attacks when Rage has crashed the procs will still do full damage, they're unaffected by damage buffs or debuffs.

My Rad/Sonic defender has Hecatomb in Brawl. Originally I had both Manuevers and Vengeance 5-slotted for the recharge bonus. Then I realized that by taking 4 slots from Vengeance and using them to slot Hecatomb in Brawl, I gained another 5% recharge and 15% accuracy.
Some of my alts have Kinetic Combat in Brawl for the S/L defense.

I've slotted some brutes with Kinetic Combat. The best use in my experience is to drop a Kinetic Combat Knockdown Proc and put it on auto if your build allows you. It has made a significant difference in preventative damage over time.
If you're as rich as Smurphy you should be able to afford a build with smarter use of resources.

If you can alter my build and get a comparable amount of recharge bonus or firepower at level 12 I would gladly implement the changes you suggest. However, I simply can't see a way to get those benefits while maintaining the power choices and slotting I require for higher level play.
*EDIT*I forgot about Super Sidekicking. I get all that stuff at level 7. I think that's kinda neat.
Ah, if you malefactor a lot it makes more sense. I was looking at it as an end-game build.
(in which case I'd aim for softcap s/l defenses while maintaining perma-Hasten levels of recharge, then as much +hp as you can squeeze in on top of that)
If you want a great character for Malefactoring though, Fire/DM is right up there. You've got pretty much all your key powers by the teens (Fireball, RoF, Breath, Tar Patch, Darkest Night). Only downside is you don't have the +rech/+runspeed from Siphon which I'd imagine is a godsend Malefactoring.

Trafficker Fire/Kin Cor Thread
I'd like to here ways I can improve Trafficker (My Corruptor with Purpled Brawl and Boxing). However, I don't think this thread is the ideal place for it. If you want to discuss his build or give me opinions/thoughts/suggestions... head there
Real MAN builds 6 slot Brawl!
And they level to 50 in Sewers teams!
I have a build planned for a future respec on my fire/kin that 4-slots brawl with K. Combats to reach the s/l cap because I wanted to softcap with maneuvers/tactics instead of tough/weave. Anyway a tough/weave build would probably have the KC set on boxing which wouldn't be used either.
I'm open to suggestions on what would be a smarter use of resources. The character I linked to in my first post Malefactors frequently. I want recharge bonuses at low levels. I enjoy being a hurricane of Fireballs at level 4. At level 12 Trafficker is the most obscene, ridiculous, amusing and fun character I have ever heard of and likely could ever contemplate. At level 12 Trafficker has Hasten, Siphon Speed, 40% Global recharge, 2 single target attacks and 3 aoe attacks from my Primary Powerset. He has more than a mere attack chain... he has options: Fire Blast, Fire Ball, Flares, Rain of Fire, Fire Breath.

I bet people would pay to have you join their bank farms, not that you'd need it.
According to hero builder, Brawl takes Set IO's from the Melee set.
So just a brief question, is it still "lolretarded" to slot brawl, or is it accepted these days as a viable "mule" power to add slots to for a set bonus? Thanks
