Add Born Date to Main Screen

I originally posted this in the "Player Questions" area titled "Born Date?" then I was still kicking the idea of this before I ran off to get some breakfast and hot coffee to wake me up...lol.

This example is just one idea I thought about. Having the Born Date next to each toons title line. I know there are other ways people figure out when their toons were born, such as SG join dates, badge or achievement dates. I think though, that this would really simplify things up by having this on the main screen. You can shuffle your toons around according to birth date. I have found that I may create a toon then putter out with them around certain levels only to create a new toon that I level past my old toon.

So, this is just one idea that I thought about when I couldn't sleep last night. I know, I know, you would have thought that maybe I could devote myself to waking up and finding ways to end Global Warming or bring World Peace. But, I thought this was much more important..hehe The illustration is that of a baby girl with a bow in her hair as all of my toons are women. For the guy toons you can have a baby boy next to your male toons title lines.

Interesting idea, but here's the main flaw: If the game hasn't been tracking something, it's usually impossible to figure it out. Chances are, the Date created hasn't been stored anywhere. Older characters would end up with a Birth date equal to date the feature get's implemented.

This is the version without the baby graphic. Yeah, you can just check your SG/VG sign-up time but there are those like myself who do not belong to any SG or VG so that option is out. This is only a simple way to keep track of when our toons were born/made/rolled/created. Someone suggested that when there are updates that this would wipe this info out. This would not be the case. The born date would be added to your profile when you enter your toons name. Thus, it will follow your toon unless you delete them.

I'd like to see a whole lot more added to the login screen for a character.

there's a whole dataset we could have just clicking on the name giving a significant amount of additonal data - but it's a QoL that might not happen

For those who've pointed out the difficulty of getting a precise date which previously hasn't been captured, either allow the user to input the date manually or simply "unknown" or "pre-xxxxx" date.

Additional information can be housed in a popup that only shows up when you hover over the character's name-bar.

I would love to have all kinds of data about my characters without having to log them in. Not particularly interested in "born date", but influence, powersets, day job, etc.

If you log into your account using a capitalized user ID (assuming it's normally lowercase), the client wont use your personalized playerslot.txt file to re-order your toons. Instead, it will use the default display, which is the order they were created.

This of course does not help give you exact dates, nor does it help you compare toons on different servers. It might not even help for toons that you transferred... but I figured I'd mention it.

On a side note, I think some people have requested such a feature before, but it was recommended as one of the NPC dialog things like the "You have spent X hours on patrol" features.

I wouldn't mind it being on the loginscreen, but some people might see it as clutter, so it might be better implemented as something you can check in-game by looking at your "Paragon City Hero Registration" (ID card).

I like Aggelakis' idea about the information being provided in a popup. Or, once you click on a character, it can list some of the info on the right side next to the character's image, either in an info box or right on the interface. That would be cool.

Honestly, if you had the option of what information you wanted to display on the select screen, that would be nice. I'd don't think I'd care about Born Date, but I would definately like to see my Level to the 10th of a level.

I have nothing against this idea, except it needs to be called something else. Implying that my characters are all grotesquely adult 5-year-old toddlers does not sit well with me.
