Born Date?

Well, I couldn't sleep so I thought I might as well get up as I was thinking about this as I tried to go back to bed.

You would have thought that maybe I would have awoke to such concerns like Global Warming, The Economy or maybe World Peace but no, I awoke to a question I had on my Toons....lol As of Jan. 2009, I rolled 10 Toons. I pretty much know which one was my first, second, third and maybe forth toon. After that, it gets kind of fuzzy. I used to move them in ranking on the server page before you log your toon into their zones, but after starting new toons and some toons passing others while reaching level 50, I forgot which order they were rolled/born/created.

Out of my 10 Toons, 8 are level 50, one a level 37 and one I just started up with Dual Pistols is level 12. I do know that you can view the badge section in your drop down menu to see when you received that badge, but it seems that over time some of the older badges and achievement dates will be replaced with new ones to make more space.

So, is there "another" easier way to find out your toons date of birth? If not, I would also then like to throw this one into "Suggestions and Ideas" section about adding the born date right on the main page with all your toons. I think it would be kind of a novel idea showing the date of birth, don't you guys think?

I know Shadow's birthday. I have it registered on several calendars, alongside other alts's B-days.

Most of the time, I use SG Join Date, but there are a few exceptions. One being an Empath who traveled through our networks of SGs for unlocking Auto-Doc and such.

I personally would love to know when each of my alts were born.

That way, I can judge how much Therapist Money I'm gonna need when they get old enough to have issues with how we skipped their birthdays and exploited their childhoods....er...um...

I gotta go.....

Okay. I just added this to the "Suggestions and Ideas" section. The more I think about it, the more I like knowing when my toons were born. For those of you with oodles of toons, think about how nice it would be to know upfront when they were created and born.

I like this idea. But I think a simple line of text would be nicer than the crazy baby logo

i have oodles of "toons", and for a couple i know within a few months when they were created. Most of them i have no specific idea other than the approximate year. Some have been deleted and remade several times even though i'm generally reluctant to delete any alt over thirty.

Honestly, i don't really care for the most part when an alt was made, but i'm all for making the info available for those who do. The creepy baby icon seems unnecessary to me. i'd just add a [Registered] field to the character ID screen that shows when they were first registered by Paragon or Arachnos authorities. (AKA their creation date.)

i make stuff...

You got your wish. This is the version without the baby graphic.

If you log into your account using a capitalized user ID (assuming it's normally lowercase), the client wont use your personalized playerslot.txt file to re-order your toons. Instead, it will use the default display, which is the order they were created.

This of course does not help give you exact dates, nor does it help you compare toons on different servers. It might not even help for toons that you transferred... but I figured I'd mention it.

On a side note, I think some people have requested such a feature before, but it was recommended as one of the NPC dialog things like the "You have spent X hours on patrol" features.

I woudln't mind it being on the loginscreen, but some people might see it as clutter, so it might be better implemented as something you can check in-game by looking at your "Paragon City Hero Registration" (ID card).

Gosh, i wish i'd thought of that.

Fusion 7's "born date" tagging is a bit odd to me, but then i guess i have a hard time thinking of something whose every action i control as my child. "Registered" or "created" makes a lot more sense. Hell, a huge number of the characters people make should have decades of existence prior to the creation in game, so "born" only really makes sense for clones, certain types of androids, some alien species, and byproducts of one of Zeus' headaches.

I like born because think about it, when you work on a toon for more than a year or longer, feed it stuff to grow and become all they can be, heck, it's just like having a kid...lol.

Registered makes more sense, as that is the date the Hero licence is granted by the City

I'm not quite sure how to put it into redside terms, broken out maybe ?

The redside ID Card's title is "Threat Identification".

Yeah, I'm not sure how to word that one either... maybe: "On the loose since.. <Date>" haha

This could get messy after switching sides though.

"Threat Identified MM/DD/YYYY"

this would also work just fine for heroes gone villian too.

I was sure there used to be a slash command that used to tell you when your toon was started, as well as another for telling how many times you'd been defeated, when I first started playing CoV (i6).... or am I totally dreaming this up? (there is another mmo I was playing at the time that has a /born command, which I might have got it confused with)

Really? You can see when you received any badge by looking at the drop down menu? Achievement dates? I'm thinking you must have a different version of the game than me, or something.

EDIT: I apologize. I just went in game to look for it and lo and behold, I noticed the tooltip that I never noticed before. How could I possibly play this game for 5 years and not even see that? Wow. Now I'm embarrassed to have shot from the hip like that, I'm sorry.
