Post Your Strangest Comments

I'm sure plenty of us here have got a few comments from their arcs that have left them scratching their head a bit, let me start:

Apparently one of my arcs is so good it has left quite a few people in fits of joy. My evidence for this is from a handful of comments I have received that have went along the lines of "asdawdasdsdawadas".

I have received one negative comment from a player who thought my unannounced timed mission completely ruined the arc, especially since he enjoyed spending his time carefully reading through all the text. The thing is if he was reading the text carefully, it would have been hard to miss the bright orange warning in the briefing that tells you the next mission is timed.

I have an arc that in the space of 2 comments got called 'the best arc I've ever played in the game' and 'the worst arc I've seen in MA.'

The comment that was so crazy I saved it to a text file:

Quote:
[Tell] @Me Am Greatest Hero: Feedback on Architect Mission Rise of the Drakule: Hmmm. Didn't really enjoy this one. Tired vampire theme with no new twistss. Lots of descripition for each mob that added up to, nothing, really. Dialogue seemed all over the place, too, but what killed it for me was having powerful foes tell me that I was 'a big meanie'. What was that all about? You should look at some newer vamp stories like Twilight for more modern ideas.
Got this one ages ago, before the comments were tracked.

Edit: Was just going through my comments and found another gem: Someone sent me a complaint that they thought my arc was way too hard for his lowbie, and should be set at 20. The entire arc is level locked at 20.

On Ctrl + Alt + Reset: "Nice tiger outifts on the thugs."

Honestly, this one is so out there, I imagine it's from an arc ID swap (leader choosing a new arc before the comment window closes), but if not... I'm still scratching my head on that one.

Another one ""Send a comment to the author (it wont let me submit, and nice quick miss""

"<Possessive "its" doesn't have an apostrophe. But great arc. Took me a while to remember Howie Mandel is bald now.>"

Been there, and even more amusingly those two people turned out to be on the same team.

My favorite from before they turned on tracking comments:

I think there's a significant proportion of Twilight fans who are completely new to the vampire genre.*

My bosses secretary knows i like sci-fi etc, and told me out of the blue that she 'loves the twilight books!'. I asked her what was so good about them and she breathlessly explained 'they're just so original! Forget everything you know about vampires, these don't sleep in coffins or turn into bats like they always do in usual vampire stories!'

I thought of infprming her that televisions come in colour models too, now, but instead asked her 'am i right in that the basic premise is: human firl and vampire guy fall in love?'
'yes, that's it'
'so like romeo and juliet, sort of thing?'
'well, yes, but not so tacky' was her killing blow reply.*

"why is teh arc about alienz? make it about nenjas so its mor like naruto plz den i give u 5 stars"

I just assumed this was some kid who was way too hyped up on sugar and assumed that an arc, which has clearly stated itself to be about aliens, was about 'nenjas'. *shrug*

The actual comment was a typical "I enjoyed your arc" type comment for Rider's Ribs Restaurant Rescue. The followup conversation led to him saying that the reason was that he was turned on and having fantasies about the black men in the arc. TMI much?

Vampires are ciphered bourgeois. (Zombies are ciphered proles.)

Twilight isn't some aberration, it's just the vampire story in the age of reality television.

I'm not sure what you meant here, tbh, but I just meant that my bosses secretary obviously hasn't seen Buffy, Near Dark, or Blade, Underwoprld, or any amount of 'new' Vampire stuff beyond old b&w Peter Cushing vs Christopher Lee 'aha, ze children of ze night!' transylvania stake-hous movies.

Turn into bats? When was the last time a vampire in current fiction turned into a bat, lol?

I had someone comment that they wished I hadn't used so much profanity (in "Check... and Mate").

Any place in the arc where I would have used profanity, mainly the hard-boiled police captain, I used @#$%^&!!!.

Beetle Bailey must drive them nuts.

My thoughts exactly.

I got this one today, not once, but twice from two people who clearly played the arc together and are either family or RL friends (they had almost identical global names) .

"get a native english speaker to check the dialog"

I didn't even know how to respond or where this could be coming from, but finally think I hit upon it. The contact in the arc is old and uses slang and sayings from the 30's and 40's in his dialog. I am guessing that the people behind these comments did not realize that and assumed it was just bad English. I actually spent a good deal of time doing research on phrases popular in the time period when the contact was at his prime. The kicker to this is the two three star ratings my research and hard work in this attention to detail got me.

Check out one of my most recent arcs:
457506 - A Very Special Episode - An abandoned TV, a missing kid's TV show host and more
416951 - The Ms. Manners Task Force - More wacky villains, Wannabes. things in poor taste

or one of my other arcs including two 2010 Player's Choice Winners and an2009 Official AE Awards Nominee for Best Original Story

This is why I don't worry about rating.

Because it's only as good as the folks giving the rating.

This doesn't surprise me. There are many people who have no idea about present day lingo. Do you honestly think they'd know, or even be vaguely familiar with, the language as it was spoken in the days before even their parents were twinkles? For what it's worth, I thought it was a great touch. If you want, I'll balance those 3 stars with fives from my pair of accounts.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as 'strange' but A Heart Breaking Story has received the comment:

"easy"

That's it, nothing more. What is strange is that the comment has made me chuckle.

Sarcasm much!

Anyways, the only comment i've ever got for one of my arcs was something along the lines of "that was pretty good"... However i have never once had any of my arcs rated =(

offtopic Ps: is the MA server global, so my arcs can be played by people across all servers in EU and US??

For a while I had a short single mission story invloving Ausin Powers, Doctor Evil and eben the fembots.. Okay I am a Mike Meyers fan. LOL I had someone comment that the whole thing seemed "SILLY"... Ummmmm Yeah and so was the movie. I was creating a comical story not trying for "War and Peace".

I do tend to test arcs with my Tankers and Scrappers mainly and had someone comment that "The AV and EBs in The League of Extraordinary Villains were too HARD". So I went in with my Arch/Ice Blaster and soled it with absolutely no problem. So what were you using a one level Defender with the now defunct flyswatter attack powerset? lol I've had other people comment that those same EBs and Av and too easy to beat. Sigh.... PT BARNUM put it best "You can't please all of the people all of the time!" lol
