Post Your Strangest Comments

Heh, I got a good one - in an arc of mine, the first mission attempts to fool the player about the boss by stating that Requiem should be defeated, However, 'Requiem' is actually a computer virus without the defeat of which the first mission cannot be completed. At the end of the last mission, the player must defeat an elite boss/archvillain. So one day I get this here comment:

"Av too hard, died a lot. never found requiem."

I thought that was funny.

Actually no, this is slightly incorrect. An EU player won't see a US players comments because there are separate Global Name lists between the two.

I'd proof of this recently when I switched to my reactivated US account (but both with @Carnifax as the global) and a Global Tell MA comment from a while back was the first thing that popped up at me.

And it was a nice one too. A lovely way to restart my US account

So far, the best comment I've ever gotten was, "Loved the turkeys."

AE hasn't used the tell feature in a long time though. Presumably the current system is be able to distinguish between 2 accounts that share the same global as with your situation, though I would be interested on a confirmation on this too.

Edit: actually I'm a bit unclear on your situation: was the arc in question made on your EU or US account?

On my EU one. Any US comments would go to the US @Carnifax (which also happened to be me).

I dunno what would happen now though, it was a long time ago close to when the AE system first came out. How does the AE system deal with Comments now?

I don't know the exact workings, but currently any comments sent to you gets amended to a text file stored on your end. In-game they can be read by clicking "comments" on the respective arc.

The oddest one I've ever gotten was, "Needs more cowbell."

They probably liked it then.

Weirdest comment I ever had was from right after the MA came out. I got a comment that I couldn't parse. I got other people to try to parse it, and three or four days later my subconcious had finally figured it out. He'd taken a level 50 and a level (something low) in a mission and was killing level (something low) enemies with his un-exemped level 50 and complaining about the lack of XP. I was kind of dumbstruck for a little bit, because that was the last thing I would ever have expected to get downrated for. So chalk this one up as my only experience with an AE baby.

Oh, here it is, I did save it afterall:

[Tell] 2009-05-15 03: 32:09 Message From [redacted] : Feedback on Architect Mission Ambush City: Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the ambush.: Alright, for one, there were absolutely NO bosses. 2, with every single one level 12, some people (such as myself) waste several hours to kill everything and have nothing to show for it, zip xp. None, it was a total rip off.

Sounds like the comment that I got that there were too many Lt's in the arc.

Well other than the obvious "I don't understand why the mailmen had superpowers" (in "Mailstrike - Stick it to the Man") when the whole arc was about that and explained it in the intro, the oddest was someone who marked me way down because he said Santa suit was the wrong color (in "When Santa's Collide"). I mean his suit is red. What other color is it supposed to be? No one else ever made a comment about that, so it isn't just me. (OK so my arcs are somewhat odd)

Another one was getting a low score because the mission needed more patrols (not that they were logical - the guy apparently just liked Patrols).

I have a mission where the devil challenges you to a fight (for no good reason) and has a contract that claims your soul if you don't show up. I started out with only one type of enemy, a little red devil (appropriately named "Lil' Devil"), and then began to add others to make the mission harder and create some diversity. These included a blue devil named (surprise!) "Blue Devil," a green devil that used Spines called the "Spikey Devil," an orange one called the "Jersey Devil," a pink one with a surgical mask named "Paging Dr. Devil," and so on until I had I think 12 or 13 of the little guys ganging up on you. This was also in the days when missions didn't require minions, lieutenants and bosses for full exp, so I admit I made them all lieuts for the rewards... but the mission was NOT easy and farmers pretty much hated it.

Anyway, one of them was a devil in a reverse-colored costume that I called the "Nega Devil."

The mission ran for a few weeks with no real comments other than the standard "This is fun," "That was crazy," and "That was too hard you suck lolol" comments that most missions receive, and then one day some dude started leaving me a bunch of negative comments. The reason?

"Nega is racesist." (Yes, he actually said "racesist.")

He eventually got a bunch of his friends to complain as well and left inappropriate content flags on the arc, so I contacted support to let them know I was changing the "racesist" name and just renamed the critter as the "Reverse Devil." It kind of blew my mind though--go do a Google search for "nega," and all you'll come up with is acronyms and people's last names, with not a single use of it as any sort of ethnic slur that would normally be spelled with an i and two g's...

I told a bunch of my friends about the situation, and so every once in a while when chat has died down, someone will say, "Hey Chad? ... You're racesist."
