Returning with a question,
Then stay awahile - spandex will always beat chainmail
Also, if you pre-purchase GR, you can get instant access to Dual Pistols, and also early access to Demon Summoning in April - and there's several hours of 2XP left this weekend

Ok, I'm coming back to the game after a long absence, had some builds I wasnt quite done with I'd like to finish out, and wanted to check out GR, but anyway.
I played some other games in my absence, and in those games, since they were older games, most of the players had made it to endgame and had everything they needed and most quests done expcpt for the big nasties. And because of this top-heaviness I found these games to be rude to the point of hostile for a new player. I wasn't properly geared therefore I was insulted and discarded regularly. I was wondering if that has happened here, or is this still a friendly place? When I left everyone was happy :-) Have no reason to expect otherwise, but just thought I'd ask. |
NoobBuster here, if you make any noobish mistakes then i shall bust you!
But hey welcome back

well, there is "gear" now with inventions, dunno if you were here when they came out, but as per another recent thread, most people care more that you are fun to play on a team with then whether you have a lot of invention bonuses. there isnt really an "endgame "per-se right now, though one is being worked on apparently, in fact, you will find that post issue 16, they expanded the sidekicking system so that a new player with higher level friends can group much more easily now, everyone is the leader's level, no more pairing. now the lack of certain powers will still mean that a natural level 30 will be more helpful than a level 10 sidekicked up, but most players are pretty open about it, and actual accounts of gear related nastiness are fairly rare.
tldr version, get in here, its fine.
Levels matter even less than before now with the new Sidekick system. You can now team with literally anyone of any level across the entire game.

Cimerora access (must be flagged via arc AND be 35+, but most people go here for the Task force)

As someone else mentioned, the only thing most of us care about is whether you're fun to play with, and optionally whether you're fun to chat with

Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.
