Advice On my Fire/Kin Build

Over the Double XP weekand I got my kin too 50 and I want to craft my build ASAP.

This build is for farming +3 and +4 Farms for leveling SG members and makeing influ.

I made it kinda like a tank in a way. Ok Here is the build

I just have one Question? (with many parts)

Where is the damage? 3 slotted Fireball? No Hot Feet? No damage in Fire Cages? Is it all Imps?

You'd be unable to clear anything without damage powers .

- Hot Feet is the number one source of damage for Fire. Period.

- No ST hold either.

- Slotting for Immobilize is just a huge no no for me. No damage procs in either powers.

- Smoke can easily be skipped. Yes, there are fans of it. Whatever.

- Fulcrum has four recharge in it.

- Fireball is painfully under slotted.

- Air Sup. and no Fire Blast?

- Consume needs to hit and has no acc.

- Seriously, no Hasten?

EDIT:

- No Siphon Speed. Just, ugh.

You're doing it wrong.

You'd never farm +4s...that's too slow. Your sweet spot will depend largely on build/investment, but most settle on +2s.

Also, farming for influence is super inefficient. You're pretty much at the mercy of the random number generator for good purple drops. If you don't get them, then your influence generation is terribad.

If your goal is to make influence then learn to market, and farm on the side. I'll never get people who make a fire/kin for farmin' uber loot and find that it's largely a tedious and inefficient exercise.

Killfan I think you missed taking the Imps all together in you build. I would definitely drop something for them, like air superiority, and push maneuvers to 47 so you can take them @32 and slot them up

Ok, My thing with fire imps:

They die way too quick, but I think I am going to add them in because they do good for DPS

It drains my end very quick.

Well, obviously Hot Feet drains your endurance if you slot it like that. It need to be slotted for max EndRdx, then Damage and some Accuracy. A little Slow is nice if you can fit it in, but that's less important on a Fire/Kin than other Fire controllers. The Obliteration set has almost no EndRdx.

I think on my Fire/Rad I have the moderately cheap slotting of Scirocco Dam/End and Acc/Dam/End, Tempered Readiness Dam/Slow and Slow/EndRdx/Rech, Acc/Dam Hami-O and a common EndRdx. With that slotting, I have no problem running both Hot Feet and Choking Cloud (also slotted for max EndRdx as well as max Hold).

If you're any sort of decent farmer, slotting hotfeet for endred, dmg, and acc is a waste.

Level 8: Hot Feet
(A) Eradication - Chance for Energy Damage: Level 30
(9) Impeded Swiftness - Chance of Damage(Smashing): Level 30
(9) Obliteration - Chance for Smashing Damage: Level 50
(11) Armageddon - Chance for Fire Damage: Level 50
(11) Scirocco's Dervish - Chance of Damage(Lethal): Level 50

Pure win...

Hmm... wouldn't it be better to five slot it with Armageddon (without the Damage IO) instead? Mids gives a damage value of 18.1 with the Armageddon set but only 16.9 for the five damage procs. Plus 5-slotted Armageddon gives some nice global bonus and has better accuracy. And if you 6-slot Hotfeet you could either reduce endurance consumption to a manageable level or raise the damage value to 19.5 by adding a damage proc to 5-slotted Armageddon.
Or did you leave that out because of the price?

Just a question. Have you played your Fire/Kin at all? or did you PL it from 1 to 50?

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

dmg values don't matter with fulcrum shift.

So if you're maxed on dmg with fs, the only way to increase dmg is to proc out the power. EndRed doesnt matter either with transference and enough global rech.

With the right, and expensive, build I could see an all proc Hotfeet. But for us mere mortals I'd propose probably 2 procs and a mix of 4 IOs to max damage, and get decent end reduction and accuracy. Especially if you even plan to exemplar down. Losing all, or many of your +accuracy and +recovery set bonuses (plus possibly fulcrum shift and transfusion) will pretty much make hotfeet useless. Frankly a "normally" slotted hotfeet is sufficient to solo farm +2/x8 easily.

You're forgetting accuracy. Doesn't matter how procced out the power is if it doesn't hit.

If you've got decent global accuracy from sets its fine, but otherwise untenable.

I've just read though this, not giving any Fire/kin advice really, they're too easy to play.

Well I'll bite, here's a soft-capped s/l def build that's even good for teaming! Perma-capped HP with Earth's Embrace and all sorts of shenanigans with only one purple set, only buff it's missing is Increase Density but it's not exactly an unskippable power. My current build is at 35% s/l def but it uses maneuvers and tactics instead of tough/weave for better teamage, plus it has ID. And yes I leveled him from 1-50 the regular way, and back when leveling was hard!

I made this build more than one year ago so I'm not sure I'd plan it the same way nowadays, but here it goes:

My build is almost exactly same as Kioshi's build. The only major difference is that I took Combat Jumping instead of Char, and slotted Fire Cages with Positron's Blast instead of the immob set.

I'll bite too. This is my Fire/Kin's build. I love it. Couldn't ask for better with the things I wanted my toon to have (Flight and Fire Mastery). Good for farming, and regular good ol' content.
