The biggest problem you're going to encounter with increasing drops rates, and thereby, supply, is that on the stuff that is already pretty common, Pool A/B especially, you'll lower the prices somewhat, but not dramatically enough to really matter.
The stuff that is ALWAYS in demand, is still going to go for near the prices it does now and will continue to creep. Why? Because both Red and Blue side there are enough players around with old money they're sitting on and are willing to pay for such things at ever increasing prices. Over the long run, you'll see prices on most of the most sought after recipes top out at 2B (on the market) because that is the way the markets in this game work in conjunction with currency and it's caps.
If you want to affect the markets, drop the Inf caps to 1B. Then, with the new issue and the ability to mail inf to your own toons, remove all options to trade Inf to other players/accounts.
Will any of this happen? No. Will anything "fix" the markets? No. Why? Because they are WORKING, it's that simple really. Read through the threads and replies that come up here and you'll see both camps..
Those that think prices are too high, because those individuals don't know how to generate in-game wealth.
And those that think things are fine because they understand the in-game mechanics related to markets and currency.
If someone wants to pay "X", let them. If someone wants to sell for "Y", good for them. Are there problems with supply, no, not really, no insofar as it's easier to level a toon from 1 to 50 and then suddenly want all those shiney lvl 50 recipes. Which is really the underlying issue.
It takes far, far less time to GET to lvl 50 than it does to generate the in-game wealth and resources to outfit said toon the way people "expect" to outfit them.
And by "expect" I mean, if you watch any of the Archtype forums you'll see that at least half of the builds people are going for contain slotting IOs that are incredibly unreasonable for all but the most devoted of players, those who have vast wealth already build, reserves on-hand or who understand market mechanics.
So if you want a tl;dr, i think the markets and situation is fine as is, people just have higher expectations than they do will to earn. Would I like to see a merger? Of course. I don't play villians because of the difficulty (relative to the ease Blue-side) of being able to get the recipes/salvage i want/need for even a modest build at prices that don't require, at time, horendous time syncs. -
I've just read though this, not giving any Fire/kin advice really, they're too easy to play.
dps dps dps, tranfusion, transference, repeat
But I think this guy is trying to epic troll. -
Maybe it's already a part of Mid's and I've missed it all these years but I've been unable to find it.
Can you add a feature that lets you full slot a set of IOs so we don't have to add each one? Maybe we can just Right-Click on the IO set icon and choose "Slot All". Would make all those full 6-slots so much easier to manage. Thanks. -
TBH I would expect something like this to be the next evolution of IOs. I saw mention that there was something called Global Inventions coming. I could be wrong, either on the name or on a new IO entirely, but they could well be something like what you're talking about.
I would expect them to be something account bound, that you could unslot and email to your other characters, or at least earn on one and send to another if not unslot.
I would not expect them to be commonplace, but not so rare as Purples. -
If you don't want to purple a toon, do you need the Influence you'd get from unloading all that you have? I would presume you don't.
So I vote hold on to them, let them pile up then someday you'll have tons of them at just the right moment when you want to purple another toon.
...or just give them to me =) -
Howdy folks, been gone a while, too long. Took a break to play some WoW over the past year and I've returned to my roots, so to speak. Only been back a day, well, an hour or so at this point, still getting my UI and keys remapped and familiar with things again..
...it's like riding a bike really!
I've got my own SG because I love having my own base so I used global channel quite a bit. What are some of the common channels on Freedom now? I'm on Repeat Offenders and Freedombadge right now, though not many on. Are those still popular channels?
If anyone has the skinny on where it's at these days it'd love to know.
It's great to be home. =)

If you know what the mish was, why not make it yourself. With what you just told us about it, any one of us can make that exact arc in 5 mins, maybe even less.
Give MA a shot, its in the game and at least deserves your attention. If you find it's too complicated or are having problems, keep posting them. There are plenty of good folks around here that will help you out. -
Were the powers available to the Rularuu at the lower range different than those 41-50?
My best guess would be that they don't exist in the real game at the level so you can't use them. There are other groups where you can't do this, for instance, Rikti don't go below lvl 30, meanwhile other enemies don't go above a certain level, things like skulls and hellions I believe. This would go in line with other groups from in the game.
The Devs never designed that particular group to exist at that level range and likely consider something they could do either broken or exploitable. -

This has always sounded to me like a stealth nerf to aggro to hamper herding. The problem I have with this is, if I've got a group of enemies on me (which I usually do being a scrapper) there are two number that dictacte how many foes I can fight...
...my aggro cap
...and the limit on each of my powers (in this case, it's 10 across the board)
There is and should never be a reason for a Boss to run from me unless it's part of the story. Certainly not while i'm well within my aggro limit. If you want to make weakling LTs and Minions run then so be it, but a Boss is a Boss and should go down fighting.
I also wonder if there isn't a problem with Ranged Attacks and Aggro. I often see enemies run to range to attack, and then flee or often times they stand there doing nothing far longer than the recharges on their attacks should dictate. -
Then you don't know how few tickets 10K is. I earn 5K per mish, and there are many that do. I'd have a build fully slotted with purples in a matter of days, the Devs did not intend this. (Yes, you CAN purchase them off the market, but that requires millions and millions of influence that you've already got to have, so there is still a barrier to acquisition).
With the projected ratio of Purples to Rare drops being estimated at 6:1, going from 4K to 10K tickets is so completely disproportional it's laughable..not to mention the 9999 cap we currently have (in place to discourage hoarding and abuse of the system).
Either you're already grinding tickets and know how easy it would be at 10K or you can't earn Purples on your own and want the market prices to drop as supply increase.
The POINT of Purples is that NOT everyone has them or will have them, but that they are available..if you're playing for Purples for no other reason..you're missing the point. -
These were the days! I've not seen mention of this game, and it was pretty much the greatest mud ever made. It's worth checking out as there are still BBS's that run it.

It's still not consistent with what you can place where. Once I recreated by "doorways' and placed items back, there were a few that wouldn't got (the small round light), I placed these bewteen stairs for added "lighting effect". Now I can't place them in about 3-4 spots while all the other work..rubbish.
They should have changed the depth of the Anchors "footprint" to prevent you from placing anything too close in front of them, too late for that now.
Can't even make a good maze now, buh!

Well, if you want to easily and often find a team, then Empath is the way to go (and they're great starting out) Force Fields are also good, but not as favored as Emapth as they don't mitigate much damage early on.
Kinetics is probably the BEST team set. It does really, really amazing things. I'd pick Dark for a secondary. Team buffs from the primary and enemy debuffing from the Secondary is just a sexy combo all around. However, with the "tohit" nature of kinetics, accuracy can be desired early on.

The Flashback System has been canned from what I recall. The Devs have a policy of not really encouraging every character to do EVERYTHING in the game. That's why there are so many different ATs and powersets.
Why all you over-OCD, completest folks get so bent about that one silly badge is beyond me. You'd think it would show your characters vintage by every bage BUT the Isolator. I know if I had every badge but that one, it would feel a bit like a badge of Honor to have had a Hero around that long. I wasn't here before that badge so I don't have the distinction of not having access to it. Let it go.

Everything up to the TFs I agree with. I actually do some of that myself, like even lvl training only. I don't hunt unless I'm on the way to a mish and when I get to the mish, it's on the second difficulty.
Perhaps the BEST way to lvl fast is to avoid debt as much as you can. Not only does it slow down xp because you have to work it off, but it's a bit of a psychological hit when you're on a streak.
In the teens you can keep with street sweeping or mishs. I prefer mishs, it's a more controlled environment and there is less debt in case you DO die. However, for sweeping, Boomtown is a great place to play. Get a team that consists of a Def (healer or bubbler type), good damage dealer (aoe blaster is wonderful here) someone to play the meat.
In the late teens you can hunt in faultline (GASP) nice spawns there with bosses, makes for nice xp if your team can hack it.
It's all about speed, speed, speed and never stopping. Play a brute and you'll understand completely.
(The biggest problem with running the TFs as a means to get fast xp is that people at lvl 12 don't have travel powers, so running from mish to mish in Positron takes too long. Someone always hold you up to sell or train, and getting everyone on the same page at those lvls is near impossible.)
Mishs give you the bonus is fighting the mob lvl you want (the diff slider), sweeping on the way to the mish, less debt when it happens (half debt for mish defeats), and the added bonus of the nice Completion bonuses. In CoV it's particularly easy because you only need to usually do 1 mish for a contact ebfore you can call them, cuts down on the redundant back-and-forth to the contact.

Hero 64, where are you!?
How cool would a voice over be when a mish hits your radio:
"Raven Salvo, come in Raven Salvo, Paragon needs your help!"
