Just wanted to let the devs know something. Let PvP/purp IOs drop like crazy every 2 weekends or so. Cuz you could really bring all the people in AP begging for farms out. And it would make the game alot funner i say. So yea just let me know what yall think.

but then that would defeat the purpose of the Purple and PvP IOs. They are meant to be AWESOME yet hard to find IOs.... making them drop like crazy (at what? 50%) would see a bad reaction on LOTS of players as since they had to spend 1b+ inf on these.

On the Live servers, yes. But on the Test Server, maybe it's not such a bad idea.

Of course, the best idea would be for them to routinely stock the Markets on Test with EVERYthing. ALL Recipies, Slavage, Enhancements, Inspirations. Have them all being sold for 1 Inf., allowing us to get whatever we want/need to Test with.

I think that would also make it easier to find bugs with Set IOs, since everyone would have access to them immediatly, meaning more people playing with them, meaning higher chances to break things. That is one of the purposes of the Test server, after all.

(I also think they need to do a monthly Inf and Pres Grant, too... >.>)

Yup, I tested with TO's first(normally skip em) and worked my way through so's to IO's. Had to spend way too much time copying toons over to respec the purple sets off of them to test with though.

Ditto.

IIRC, the game is balanced largely around the performance point of SO's. This wouldn't be a problem, except that the use of IO sets (ranging from the meager to the extreme) seems to have become pervasive (read: No, I'm not saying you, reader, kit out all your toons in IO, so please don't bother with a "well I don't." statement).

For the sake of testing, it would be interesting to have the availability of all sets. It would be much easier to determine whether or not a particular set, or combination of sets, hits the OP mark.

That would be nice, truth be told. Particularly new sets so its easier for those folks who are good at testing to suss out bugs and the like. They might have to alternate means of availability, though, so drop rates can be tested too (how folks test that I've got no idea, but some folks do!).

The OP's name and server says it all, next to using words like cuz and yea.

PvP and purple drop rates will not be increased, thats straight from Castle, end of story. Absolutely no reason to increase the drop rate on either, thats why they are rare.

It would be nice if on Training Room you could level your character at will and as has been said buy all enhancements for 1inf. This would allow people who arent sure about either how a character will play at high level, or want to see how certain slotting will work in-game without having to spend a fortune in both time and inf only to find the alt isnt as much fun as hoped for, or the recipes bought arent working out as expected.

I know the test server is more for the powers that be to test new patches etc, but where is the harm in letting people do their own testing there too!

Begging devs to let us random roll pvp IOs with earned rep for ages now, nothing done :/ Ah yeah, i forgot, working for minority like pvp'ers is not profitable. NEVERMIND.

Yeah, this is one place test should be (somewhat) different - though I'd say the "manually stock the market" would probably be the better approach.

After all, when we get to GR beta'ing (still have to test Electric Control and Kinetic Melee, as well as just *base* ideas on how easy/tough new enemies are,) a base performance as opposed to "this is how it looks when IO'd to the gills" is more important - and seeing afterward how insane it could be when you ARE IO'd to the gills would help, too. (And then of course there's "trying out newly released sets.")

I think it would be cool to double the drop rate for everything on double XP weekends. It would be interesting to see how that played out. The market usually dries up during double XP as people are out there getting as much XP as quickly as possible and don't bother putting much for sale, but they might buy the occassional piece as they level up.

A lot of people level inside AE because you can choose your opponent and don't have to travel from mission to mission. So those people don't even get drops until they spend their tickets, further removing supply.

After double XP, people flush with cash want to buy enhancements for all these new characters they leveled and prices go up significantly. A doubling of the drop rate would increase the supply and therefore limit the price spike. But a doubling of the drop rate for a short period would not be "crazy" or lead to everyone having a purpled warshade.

In fact, as I think more about it, double XP is a significant source of inflation. Huge influx of cash and greater demand caused by an expanding population of characters with a corresponding drop in market activity that is never "made up." The market eventually settles back down, but it never catches up for that lost time.

Well, you know, you could always just do what I do and imagine purple and PvP IO don't exist when planning your builds.

Then, if they do drop, you could simply sell them and use them to bolster your funds for non-ultra rare IOs.

Did it make you tingle?

Also signed on free supplies on test especially when there are new sets. What happened with the new pet sets was stupid.

Not testing with IO's could be why we keep seeing these IO nerfs..No real testing due to lack of availability.

They are like respec recipes, they dont really exist. They were just put in patch notes to make it look like the devs were doing something. 18 50's and not a single respec recipe had dropped....

every month that goes by where drops are not made better due to a drop in poluation AND subs is another month people use rmts for influnce and infamy

this cuts down on booster packs getting money and really isnt helpful at all...but of course as usual the devs would actually have to do something about it which they currently "know there are issues" but have no plans how and when it would be or could be fixed.

apparently their vision doesnt count in the actual games population or the lack thereof since the drop rates were made.

That's just your bad luck.

I've had respec recipe's drop and I seldom team anymore.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

that isnt the point. content that people that play the game extensively through all levels never see, might as well not exist. Just because a few dev junkies run in and drool on command does not make it so. The only part of this game that i dont participate in is AE(i did it in beta). The devs need to lay off on the smart *** replies and lay on with some results. fix the long standing bugs or tell us they arent on the schedule due to costs/time constraints/convoluted code. I understand there are things they wont be able to fix. But man up and move on. saying it will be fixed "soon" doesnt cut it when it is obvious it wont ever be fixed. (cathedral of pain is a classic example)
