Why can't we pre-order "Full" Going Rogue?

From here:

What's in that item pack, you ask? Well, a few nifty things like:

• Alpha- and Omega-themed auras
• Alpha and Omega themed costumed sets
• Four stance emotes
• The Shadowy Presence invisibility power

I'm with Lothic.

I understand it, but still think the pre-order/pre-purchase situation is unnecessarily, and perhaps ridiculously, convoluted. I expect it will cause problems for some customers and headaches for customer service reps in the very near future.

The phrase I'm going with is "Needlessly convoluted." Seriously, the marketing team came up with...that? Crimethink is doubleplusungood.

Pre-purchase with no free month and you'll get early access due to it being through their store (and so tied into the game). Pre-order through a retail outlet and no early access goodies, but you get the usual free month cause its a stand-alone box. Later, if you pre-purchased, you can pick up the goodies in a separate transaction just like they've done in the past. Easy peasy.

I'm sure they'll be delighted with extra money though.

I understood the announcement. But straightforward and "easy peasy" for the masses? No, it's really not.

Straightforward would have been one product to buy with hardwired dates where different portions of that one single product would be unlocked, not three separate options/sub-products.

I'm pretty much convinced at this point that this product scheme was devised to motivate people like BrandX to double-pay.
Kudos to our Devs for figuring out a way for them to maximize profits.

Not Devs. Our Devs would have little to do with the pricing structure of the products they develop. That's what the publishers marketing department is for (BTBASH).

When I (or most people) use the generic term "Devs" we are referring to "those people who are responsible for providing this game to us". Obviously the "marketing" people were involved in this particular issue, but making that distinction in this case doesn't really matter for the discussion at hand. *shrugs*

Well, it could be worse - we could be being asked to pay for a shell of a game

But... CoH/V is one shell of a game, ain't it?

The devs mentioned it as one of their inspirations for Paretoria, so they might slip in a reference or two somewhere in GR

you know, i think what threw people off is they detailed exactly what was in the pack, but not in the "two ways to get going rogue" announcement. they did it instead in the "ultra mode, issue 17 dark mirror and going rogue" one, so if you missed that there can be some confusion if you dont read every announcement.

I want to see screenshots of the Auras the special 10 bucks more version will have. Emotes I never use, and a shadowy presence power that looks totally useless from what people link on the channels. If new auras look awesome that'll be my deciding factor.

Well, as was said, there will be an item pack/expansion upgrade (price undetermined, hoping for $5 but budgeting $10) that grants the items.

Well, Praetoria already has thoughtcrime police, even if they're called something different >.>

I dunno, their look struck me more like the department of precrime in minority report. but psychics can go both ways, depending if they are precognitives or telepaths.

They have telepathy precognition: they know when someone's mind will be read by a telepath. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they can't foresee much more than that.

It's not an extra $5. It's $15.

The Pre-order is $10 cheaper. You get the pistols and demon summoning early. You don't get the booster pack or the free month.
The booster pack would be +$10. The free-month has an apparent value of $15.
So if you aren't going to get the booster pack it would only be a $5 difference. If you are going to get the booster pack, it would be $15.
